main & sub listing

Could someone please list all the possible main jobs, and then all possible sub jobs. I just don't know enough about it, I mean like can BRD be a sub, etc.

This is for adding mains and subs to the user profile. Hopefully I will be able to implement that within the next few days.
 
Warrior: /Nin, /Thf, /Mnk
Monk: /War, /Thf, /Nin
White mage: /Blm, /Smn, /Rdm, /Brd
Black mage: /Whm, /Rdm
Red Mage: /Blm, /Whm, /Brd, /Smn
Thief: /Nin, /War, /Sam
Paladin: /War
Dark Knight: /Thf, /War, /Nin
Beastmaster: /Whm, /War. /Nin
Ranger: /Nin, /War, /Sam
Samurai: /War, /Thf
Ninja: /War, /Blm
Dragoon: /War, /Thf, /Sam, /Whm, /Rdm
Summoner: /Whm
Bard: /Whm, /Smn

Those are the ideal subs. Anything else is just wrong, or strictly for solo/random purposes.

oh and I added the solo subs for Drg because you sillys never get parties.

I don't think that's completely right. I mean i know several higher lvl brds that sub thf to add in sata.

So i'd say brd/thf also.

But heck i'm a fruit and i /brd ever job i xp with except for sam that i use rng.
 
Plus check out smn/brd at 50 when you can have auto refresh and ballad. It's pretty dandy.

But again i'm big into supporting roles so sub brd for almost everything. Especially rng lol.

Oh yeah forgot Drk/Nin in rampage setups. I wasn't sure about most mage subs wehn it came to /Smn and /Brd, so i just went with instinct.

Just for the sake of flexibility wouldn't it make more sense to just list all the jobs and let sculli handle how it's listed? i mean .. if someone wants to advertise they're a dumbass using whm/war isn't that their right?

Not trying to be a turd or anything but i figure enough about the game is cookie cutter oriented, shouldn't we make room for people to list whatever they use and defend it or not on their own instead of having only job sets A-F or whatever?

I mean .. i'm not quite sure i understand what he's wanting but it sounded to me that he's just trying to get the jobs nailed down so he can add a function to show the job combo you use in game on the boards ...

I figure if you use a stupid combo it should be open for you to share with the community on large so they can eat you alive for it.

you forgot RDM/SMN D: great for a tank party if you want a PLD to have blink :P same with BRD/SMN

Sam sub for War and Mnk are good subs also. Don't know why you didn't put those in there Neo.
 
and what about /RNG sub for SAM? D: I mean.. come on.. that's still some hawt shit :P
 
/Brd can be a good sub for SMN in many situations. Sculli, cant you just have all possible combinations? Like 2 options you choose, your main and your sub, rather than one for both?

you forgot rdm/drk prob the best endgame sub out there for rdm
and brd do brd/rdm sometimes for fastcast to o and rdm/nin to
 
Like he said, the combos he added are for exping.

I can think of another 100 combos, depending on the situation.
Melee/sam sub for gods if you're using spirits within for example.
Nin/brd if you're out soloing and want some extra evasion (melody earrings and mambo=)
war/whm for some HNM fighting
war/pld for exp/enm's and whatnot (yeah, I've done it and it works decently if you have the gear)

and so on and so on...


So yeah, just add all 15 jobs, and let people pick a main and a sub.
If that's doable ^^

Yea, I'd say there are a lot more possibilities than just those Neo listed, BUT in his defense he did do a generaly good list of the overall jobs/sj's
 
There's a decent guide to this on GameFAQs (link). Lists out possible combinations and their use. Not that I would take it as definitive, I disagree with a couple of the author's points, but the guide does have its uses.
