Manbearpig ?

My, my, my....WHERE to begin....

I honestly cannot express my astonishment when it comes to your rebuttles.
Where to even begin?

Gonna snip some here and some from there and maybe I'll know how to convey this.
1.) Raey, he was posting about a personal experience. I asked him specifically if he was harassed, and he wasn't. If that was the topic of the flame, I'd say "Flame on!"
However, the reason this whole flame started is because there were a couple o' noobs in some party.
Besides, I don't think there could possibly be harassment in this game, since the /blist function is available.

Actually, no. Psylent said himself that he's had other bad experiences with the members from this particular linkshell. A linkshell that you seem to enjoy for what it's worth.
He said that he's had other bad experiences but this particular one pushed him to actually post this flame. This sounds pretty legitimate to me.
As for the harassment?
Shouldn't that conversation between those two be proof enough?
Need me to elaborate even more?
Pandetech opened a conversation with "Can I touch your penis?" How is that NOT harassment? Sexual harassment at that. Bravo. Really.

2.) This is the second time I've said this, MANBEARPIG DOES NOT ENCOURAGE GIL-BEGGING INSIDE THE LINKSHELL
Hmmm...alright, that's your response.
Then how come I saw this one? See below.

Oh shut up, my friend's sent me SS'es of the stupidity that goes on in there. Most of it's asking for PLs, gil and whatever else.

I'm no stranger to this, since many people have begged me for gil.
This ranged from legit looking level 1 players to level 1 RMTs.
Please, enlighten me. How do you explain these? See below.
Seconded as he asked me for 100 gil while I was AFK a few weeks ago.
I told him to piss off, then he got all pansy with me about it. I didn't realize he was Pandetech's cousin/brother/father, but I should have guessed, since they sound about the same.
We were in Jeuno.
Rolanberry Fields and a plethora of goblins holding cash were right outside.
No more justification of my "piss off" is needed.

Now before you say that Manbearpig does not allow gil-begging within the ls, then shouldn't they somewhat implement that to the outside of the linkshell as well?
A ls pearl is something you can have to chat with a large group of people, but its also a neon sign for other people outside of that group to see what kind of group you are in.
It's kinda like wearing a school uniform.
If people see someone wearing this uniform to be begging for money, they will instantly remember to stay the hell away from that school and those who go to it.

3.) Since you've never been inside the linkshell, you cannot tell them how they run. They do not "hold hands". Like I said, I was helped because I cannot solo the Rank 2-3 Dragon. Although I'm sure there are people who can, I chose to ask for help, which I received. I've never once gotten any complaints in party for me being "Noobish." Kumar does not tell them not to do their supposed job.
I'm just giving you facts. Facts you do not know and should not know, because you have never been in the linkshell for an extended period of time.

Mmmmmkay.
Look I can probably tell you that just because I'm not in your linkshell that yes, there are probably some things that I probably would rather not know.
However, when I see stuff like the bolded part, that just confirms my belief of how poorly run it must be in my eyes. Kumarr does not tell them not do their supposed job and yet he does not tell them how to do it in the first place.

Look, this is a community-based game.
If people see something wierd or not being done right, they will first at least let you know what you could be doing wrong AND maybe suggest somethings to you know....fix it?
If they don't see any improvement or anything else that could remedy the situation, then yes, they WILL explain their experience to the community to let others know.

If you just want to have the biggest social linkshell on the server as Pandetech/Kumarr put it (quite frankly, I don't care which one said it), then by all means go ahead recruit every single player you can. However like any kind of empire, there will be a great downfall due to not getting orders to the far reaches of your borders, lack of communication and so on.

4.) Kumar had provocation. Psylent had no such thing. Also, I never said he was "successful". KUMAR AND PANDETECH ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON. I was referring to Pandetech, not Kumar. (I see his name as Kumarr in the game, I think 0.o

5.) I never denied the fact that it wasn't a bad experience. However, it was "well-played", since Psylent was so dramatic as to actually post about one singular experience and label it as the linkshell's fault. (If it wasn't just one particular experience, it should've been in his first post.) )

Lol, seems to me that you are not even sure of who is which, let alone Pandetech's gender.
Like I said in the very first part, Psylent has had other experiences with Manbearpig, this one just pushed him to actually post something about it.
That sounds like provocation to me, I don't know about you.

6.) I am not denying that these experiences have happened, I am simply saying small reasons like "They're filled with gimp!" is not a sufficient reason to leave a linkshell. They help me out, and I will make sure that the name of that linkshell is not polluted even further from people like you, who have never been in the linkshell but claim that "They teach their players to do this!"

If no one can give me a reason to leave other than "They are gimp!" "They party badly!" then I suppose this thread is over, since it's a social linkshell and their "skill" in-game does not make them a better or worse human being. I interact with these human beings, and they make my stay in FFXI enjoyable.
As far as I'm aware of, no one has told you to leave the linkshell in actuality.
You are blowing things out of proportion here.
Anyone can help another out in this game, should they choose to.
Heck gimps can try to help each other without dying when it comes to certain missions but their gimpness can only take them so far, do you understand what I'm saying?

People feel good when they accomplish something, hence they try to gear up their jobs to the best of their abilities, actually learn their supposed job roles and be functional as much as possible.
Here, Trippy sums it up well here.
If there is a shell that has members with empty gear slots as late as level 25, I want to stay away fom them. The reason? I want to have fun. Winning is fun. Doing well is fun. Being good at the game and playing with others that are good is fun. Playing with people that can't do their job because their gear sucks is not fun. Melee with no gear? Good luck hitting anything. Mage with no gear? Probably means you can't be bothered to buy all your spells either. Not to mention even if you have em, your MP pool will be tiny, you'll have no -enmity, and you'll be resisted on any nuke or enfeeble you may try to throw. No gear pretty much means no food too. No food at any level is inexcusable.

That's why people want to stay away from gimped people.
How you present yourself, how you play, what your gear is like...all of that are factors people look into when they are going to do something with you.

By not teaching new people how to play, you are not helping them at all.
They can't even stand on their own two feet.
That's cheating alot of potential out of new players, don't you think?

I mean there's this...
I agree with Ex here about letting them sink, if they are really that bad and don't wanna take advice, boot them. If you're not the leader, disband party and solo till you get something better. Allowing the progression of horrid players hurts everyone. We have too many jackasses at 75 who don't understand how a basic skill chain is set up and simple stuff like hate control.

When I leveled in this game, I leveled first in the school of hard knocks. If I did something I shouldn't, I was told what I did wrong. If I did it again, I died. Simple as that.

As for this shell in question, I had a party on my 17 RDM with them once. Had Two WHM (one being Kumarr) and a BLM from their shell as well as two WAR (one being Pandetech).
I, a Galka RDM, ended up doing the majority of the healing while I stayed in the party, and when I questioned it, Pandetech insisted that they were new to playing the job and had to be carried a little. UNACCEPTABLE! By 12 WHM you should grasp main healing to the point you can do it fine with a little help from a RDM. At 17 you should be at least relatively proficient even on your first job, maybe without great hate control. Two WHM in a party means the RDM should *never* hafta heal. I don't think that's being elitist in any form. And when the two primary members of a shell tell you that it's ok to be like that, I'm sorry it's a very bad reflection on a shell.
This is what is making your linkshell look really bad lol.
I'm pretty amazed how you still do not seem to get it.

2 WHMs and 1 RDM. Hmmm...and it seems like even Kumarr wasn't even healing as much himself while he was a WHM. Need I say more?
When you are a new player, you are going to see what others do and base your knowledge on that if you did not do any kind of research on the game already.
I asked a high level WHM in my first social how to play his job when I had to level it for my sub. I learned alot of things from him like how I'm not supposed to pull hate from DDs or tanks, or how I should heal them, and to rest my MP pool so that I can be ready for anything.
When the 2 main people in a social is neglecting to tell their members how to play, thats not a good thing at all. Seriously. If you are in a position to be mentoring those new players, then you have to do your best to educate them regardless.

Now do you see why I'm having a problem with that attitude of carrying players just because they are new?
And I know it's not just me because here's one.
Giving newer players advice on how to handle links or where to XP and such will help them learn to become better players overall. If you PL them to 30 and hand them some keys, they're up for a damn rough time when they get Goblin Smithy agro and have absolutely no idea how to handle it, and it'll only get worse from there.

Because they were PLed to 30, they never took (or even needed) the time to stop and farm items for gil, which they likely now have absolutely no idea how or where good spots are to get some. This also typically ends very badly.

Saying people at L30+ have an excuse to miss vital equipment slots due to being 'new at a game' is a joke. In pretty much every RPG ever made, empty equipment slots is a bad thing.

Monkey see, monkey do. See what Kumarr does and this is what they do.
To be fair, it was a BLM with a level 4 /WHM. Though that only takes away the inappropriate sub for the mainjob problem. It's still indicative that they went back to town to get a sub... but didn't actually bother *levelling* that sub to the point of being useful.

Oh wait, Pandetech too. That's where Kumarr must have learned right?
Monkey see, monkey do. See what Pandetech does and this is what Kumarr learns.
I have seen Pandetech once since the douchebag has been back and he WAS gimp. The others i'm talking about were in their 30's, 40's, and 50's and gimp as a newb in a starter zone.

And your beloved ls leader Kumarr has the cojones to say this.
I have a little something i want you to get in on...First off some people in the game are gimp...Deal with it? Just because they are gimp doesn't mean you cant have a good time...
People play to have a good time. They'd rather play and have fun with people who know what the f*ck they are doing rather than people who don't.
Ah, but to each his own, I suppose?

Also, you're saying that it's a "shame" that I joined the linkshell. However, I have already told you why it wasn't a "shame". I was asking you why it was a "shame". If you can't give me that answer, I'm going to have to assume that you know nothing of the subject. Therefore, I'd also have to assume that you've never been in the linkshell before.

Which brings me to my next point, if you were never in the shell, how would you know anything about its internal function? If you've never been in the shell, you wouldn't be able to see how helpful it is.

It's a shame because you keep on dismissing other people's views on the linkshell. You keep on dismissing it by saying how they are not in the linkshell and therefore they can't say anything.
Judging on just how the members are presented/presenting themselves speaks volumes.
Some people lack pieces of gear, some people don't know how to play.
Yeah...and how is this linkshell helping its members if they can't teach the basics?
People (who have a sane mind) will not want anything to do with these members just on that alone, myself included.

Rage said:
If this is the case, why do you name the flameboard "Manbearpig"? Just because you see one or two or eight gimps doesn't mean the entire linkshell is gimp. And even if it is, what kind of grounds is that for a flameboard thread?
Because if the leaders are being negligent towards their members more apparent needs, then it is apparent to others that there is something wrong with the linkshell.
If it's just one member, ok maybe there's some room for excuse.
However when you see more members with the same type of gimpness in gear or playing style then you know it's a bigger problem. I'm pretty sure anyone can tell you that.

It's bad enough that this linkshell is being lead by Pandetech and his clone Kumarr.
People know of him enough to stay the f*ck away from him.
I mean its bad enough when you see stuff like this....
Kumarr was harassing people along with Pandetech in South Sandy and shouting recruitments for this shell maybe...2 months ago.

...and repeatedly getting invites to a linkshell that those 2 are associated in?
Meanwhile when you do decline them you have to decline them so many friggin times.

Blacklist?
Yeah, maybe but you know, if people say "No" at least twice, you better get it through your head that they do not want to join.

Enough said.

Howdy, Folks!
I've recently acquired a friends account and started playing once again. While on my official return, I was offered a pearl to the LS "ManBearPIg"
After equipping the pearl, I was greeted warmly by everyone. Although they're as "gimp" as you say, they're still good people. You put down good people for their ignorance. Honestly, I find that unfair. I mean, you all put down that LS and here I am, a returning player who has been here since NA PC release, and you acll us all good for nothing. Hey, I can't speak for everyone, but you can't assume EVERYONE there is a gimp. Ask yourself this one question. Do you know every single person in that Linkshell? Majority here is just bashing on the members callin them all idiots and gimps. I recognized a few vets in the LS already as well.

As for blaming the entire LS for everyone being a poor player? Well, you do realize that it's a LS targeting newer players, right? And when asked to join, they did tell me it was a fun social LS. What i'm saying is, you can't expect them to hold every newbies hand! I was a newb as well, seeing as how this was my first MMO. My first LS never taught me crap! I had to learn as I went along. And also, you can't expect us to read minds. OF course those vets, and even I(blah but I forgot entirely cept for the basics) would be glad to shed some light on the fellow players. You see? We can't read minds. I don't know that Joe over there is a complete newb, if he doesn't ask for help or speak up. I would go on my way and he'll do his deal.

Remember, kids. It's a Social LS that recruits newer players. Expect a bunch of newbies to be gathered in one place. Yes, they'll be gimp because it's their first step into vana'diel. I simply think you're all too harsh on the LS.

hmm, and the LS is also pretty populated. I am neutral in this matter. I know the history behind Pande and I know the things he does gets out of hand, but you've got to also take note that he's a teen. Yes, some teens can be more mature than others, and some are just enjoying their spoiled youth. Stop picking on children online. Just like how we all look back on our past mistakes and laugh, i'm sure he'll do the same. Give him a break! If you dislike him, then just blacklist and ignore him. But being around him for awhile, I can say that he's a nice dude and also bright for his age. If he was totally this jackass who runs around harassing others, you think we'd all stay in the LS? IF the LS was like that, I wouldn't dare go in. I'm well aware he can get out of hand in shouts fights, but it's probably due by others provoking him. His crude and witty replies are only meant for jokes, but it's people like you who get upset and shout back. Sure, pande could have done without his words, but then those others could have simply chose the ignore and move on. He harasses you, and you all harass him. How fun.

What do I think this is about? I think his reputation gets to you. You all here know who he is and you're all the first to jump on him for every move he makes. "wow Pande made a LS and look at his members! They've got teh gimps lets flame the loser. Just give it up. Yes we're all well aware that he's a wild team let loose upon the internet. We meet them all the time and countless adults just think it's awesome to put down a child through the net rather than letting the fire blow out.

I've been known to be pretty damn harsh to outsiders as well. Hate me all you want, I care less. I'm not on this game to make friends or to impress anyone. You're all just too quick to judge. Just like with Yusuke. Youall put him down and forced him into a corner all because he spoke differently. But the Yusuke I knew was a good friend . What does this have to do with anything? Well, let's talk about Pande here. Although he may be a bit wild and gimp,he's still a decent human being. He treats his LS with respect, from what i've seen. It totally makes sense, don't you think? I mean, I'm cold towards people I don't know but friends? woot! let's party
So hell fckn yes expect Pande to disrespect you because you've been on his ass for a year or more? If you or I were in his position and we were being attacked for some reason by the mass, who wouldn't fight back? haha better than rolling over and die

As for the members of MANBEARPIG
just ask in LS if you want to know who I am but I joined yesterday =)

i like how lolRage is backed up by lolRyder...who admits he plays a mmorph to not make friends

lolmanbearpig

Blacklist?
Yeah, maybe but you know, if people say "No" at least twice, you better get it through your head that they do not want to join.

Enough said.

1.) So, you take information from your source, Psylentcuda, who claims that he's had other bad experiences that could possibly prove to me that the linkshell has been terrible to him.

He's named a few, but I've already proved how they could easily be false. Also, why didn't he post them in his starting post? Who knows.

Pandetech was joking with him. Psylent, however, was not. They had obviously not talked before. And even at that, it wouldn't be harassment anyways because there's a "/blist" function. He chose to talk to Pandetech.

2.) I'm no stranger to this, since many people have begged me for gil.
This ranged from legit looking level 1 players to level 1 RMTs.
Please, enlighten me. How do you explain these? See below.

Oh my God. I have yet to see a level 1 player on my Linkshell, and only God knows how you can tell if a level 1 can possibly be RMT.

3.) Now before you say that Manbearpig does not allow gil-begging within the ls, then shouldn't they somewhat implement that to the outside of the linkshell as well?
A ls pearl is something you can have to chat with a large group of people, but its also a neon sign for other people outside of that group to see what kind of group you are in.
It's kinda like wearing a school uniform.
If people see someone wearing this uniform to be begging for money, they will instantly remember to stay the hell away from that school and those who go to it.

Bad assumption. It couldn't possibly implement that to outside of the linkshell.

A.) People who beg in the linkshell probably want money, regardless of whether the Linkshell denies them this money or not. Just because one person says "Don't beg", do you think a beggar honestly will stop to beg?

B.) The linkshell can't control its members actions outside of the linkshell, I am sorry. People from other linkshells have begged me for gil, and I don't make flames about it, or even make poor judgement. It's just one or a few beggars. I'm not stupid enough to think this could ruin my experience in the linkshell.

4.) Mmmmmkay.

That's a great judgement. However, it's meaningless here. Want to know why?

I'm talking about the interior functions of the linkshell, you are not. You are talking about the outside view of the linkshell, which does not effect the interior function. That's a great view, but you can't say it's a good or bad linkshell until you're in it.

5.) Look, this is a community-based game.
If people see something wierd or not being done right, they will first at least let you know what you could be doing wrong AND maybe suggest somethings to you know....fix it?
If they don't see any improvement or anything else that could remedy the situation, then yes, they WILL explain their experience to the community to let others know.

I don't understand. At what point does Psylentcuda gives proof that he tried to give advice to the members that were in his party? He may have said it, but it probably isn't true.

And even in this way, people have different ways of running things. Just because something worked out for you does not mean it will work out for them. Also, see Excim's post.

6.) If you just want to have the biggest social linkshell on the server as Pandetech/Kumarr put it (quite frankly, I don't care which one said it), then by all means go ahead recruit every single player you can. However like any kind of empire, there will be a great downfall due to not getting orders to the far reaches of your borders, lack of communication and so on.

Oh jesus, revelation. Thank you, fortune teller, but I could care less what happens to the linkshell two years from now. They probably say it's the biggest linkshell on the server for advertisement, so don't try to get too happy there.

Thank you for comparing a linkshell to an empire, though. Just a few key things missing here:

Religion
Intellectual
Economical
Militaristic (Lol, shut up.)

Just a small list of small difference between an empire and a linkshell.

7.)
By not teaching new people how to play, you are not helping them at all.
They can't even stand on their own two feet.
That's cheating alot of potential out of new players, don't you think?

Thanks, but you can't say how they're teaching the new people how to play, since you aren't in the Linkshell, you can't say anything. Sorry.

It's a social linkshell. Whether the linkshell members ask for help or learning for the game is not our choice, it's theres. If they don't listen to our advice we don't kick them or write flames about them. We just ignore them later on when they're crying about getting kicked from a party. However, since it's a social linkshell, people don't usually talk about the game anyways. That's right. People actually talk on this social linkshell. They just don't stand there and tear each other apart because they're more gimp than me.

8.) Lol, seems to me that you are not even sure of who is which, let alone Pandetech's gender.
Like I said in the very first part, Psylent has had other experiences with Manbearpig, this one just pushed him to actually post something about it.
That sounds like provocation to me, I don't know about you.

No, reread this. Where is he provoked? I could say that you MPK'd me in game, and I was provoked to make a thread on the flameboard. Where is your proof? All I see in that starting post is "Omg, he's gimp!" Nice basis for a flame.

9.) 2 WHMs and 1 RDM.

This is one party experience from Kumarr. He could've been having an off-day, or been distracted, or had someone else play his character, or another number of things. Besides, he eventually got to level 65, so I can't say he's too bad. I've seen him ballista, and I myself can say that he's pretty excellent.

10.) Now do you see why I'm having a problem with that attitude of carrying players just because they are new?
And I know it's not just me because here's one.

Monkey see, monkey do. See what Kumarr does and this is what they do.

I doubt that any of the people in the social linkshell have, in fact, seen him party. So I guess it wouldn't be a case of monkey see monkey do at all, since I'm sure Kumarr doesn't usually give advice to players anyway. It's more of the other members in the linkshell.

See, the problem is, you can't really get far in this. Raey, you've never been in the linkshell. Sorry.

11.) People play to have a good time. They'd rather play and have fun with people who know what the f*ck they are doing rather than people who don't.
Ah, but to each his own, I suppose?

On a social linkshell, people do play to have a good time. They talk though, and I'm pretty sure everyone knows how to talk. Skill has nothing to do with talking, does it? Then why can't people in Manbearpig have a good time?

12.) It's a shame because you keep on dismissing other people's views on the linkshell.

Are you saying I'm insane?

I'm in the linkshell, and I can guarantee you that if you join that linkshell for at least five days you won't want to leave.

So basically, what you're saying that is "the largest linkshell in the server", are the people who don't want "anything to do with the linkshell".

Maybe you're right. Maybe all 200 of them don't want anything to do with the linkshell, and that's why they're inside of it.

Maybe all 200 of them are insane.

13.) Because if the leaders are being negligent towards their members more apparent needs, then it is apparent to others that there is something wrong with the linkshell.
If it's just one member, ok maybe there's some room for excuse.
However when you see more members with the same type of gimpness in gear or playing style then you know it's a bigger problem. I'm pretty sure anyone can tell you that.

Answer me this: Have you ever seen Kumarr type to a person through /tell how to play the game? Have you ever seen Kumarr type to a person through /linkshell how to play the game? /say? /shout?

What about Pandetech? /say? /shout? /linkshell? /tell?

What's truly a shame is that you know so little.

What makes you think that all of the members ask for assistance? What makes you think that the leaders are always there to help? What makes you think that the leaders are giving them the wrong information?

Misinformation.

I, on the other hand, know what kind of advice the leaders give because I'm on the linkshell. From my experience, they give pretty solid advice.

But if all of what you're saying is true (And I have yet to see evidence, so I'm quite doubtful), then I suppose not everyone's perfect.

14.) It's bad enough that this linkshell is being lead by Pandetech and his clone Kumarr.
People know of him enough to stay the f*ck away from him.
I mean its bad enough when you see stuff like this....

...and repeatedly getting invites to a linkshell that those 2 are associated in?
Meanwhile when you do decline them you have to decline them so many friggin times.

Sorry that you ACTUALLY have to deny seventeen thousand times! JESUS! So you have to say "no" that many times?! Think of the time that must take! Wow, this piece of information truly makes me want to never join the shell again oh my GOD!

Blacklist?

No?

Well,

16.)Yeah, maybe but you know, if people say "No" at least twice, you better get it through your head that they do not want to join.

Enough said.[/QUOTE]

Maybe not everyone has perfect memory, so you better get it through your head that they don't do it on purpose. <3

Bye.

"Are you saying I'm insane?"

idk if he is, but my two cents is yeah, you are completely off your rocker :P

Intellectual
Well we knew that was missing already, although I'm somewhat confused over how you have "intellectual"

Yeah Psy how's that world of yours? Crumbling yet?

But on a serious note, Rage you seem to be an alright guy, just leave the thread alone.
Dude its all crumbling down on top of me!
They don't know how to leave things alone that's the sad part...

On the harassment thing, you can send one thing to someone once and as long as its offensive its harassment. It's harassment to ask someone to feel their penis. And for the record I have talked to Pande before, but if I went around blacklisting every dumb kid I ran into there would only be a pool of about 300 people to do events and parties with on the whole server. And I do /blist people if they prove they are immature and will not leave me alone...
KUMARRBLIST.jpg

your leader is the 3rd person in over 3 years to ever be added to my blacklist, I hope that sets the example for others to follow.

I just find it funny how I leave for the weekend, Rage keeps posting, and the points I already made are continuing to be driven in.

Sidenote: Everything blurred in there was because I was at a king camp at the time it happened.

WALLS OF TEXT.

Jesus, Rage, learn not to quote everything. I hate you so much.

rate up for the info, but rate down for your color scheme... my eyes are bleeding trying to read that, lol
Lol, yeah they should not give me the option of doing stuff like that.... but on my computer when I read it, its easier to pick out /tells from my party chat and battle chat

Um...

Not using /blist has no excuse.

At all.

Whatsoever.

And psylent, welcome back. Are you going to reply to my other points?

Or are you just going to hide again?

Correct. I don't come here to find friends or to waste my life away. I don't come here to make FFXI my world. I come here to play a simple game and to kill time. I mind my own business and do my own thing. what's so ROLFWAFFLES about that? I've already got enough BS in reality and I don't need to log on to FF to more useless BS.

Like earlier today, there was a shout telling everyone not to raise one of the LS members because he/she was a member of manbearpig. Due to all your guy's online conflict between the LS leaders, innocent newbs are getting the harsh treatment. If I was them, i'd say "fuck this"

but i think it's fair
yes, most of the LS are beginners that have a lot to learn, but the rest of you guyss are assholes =)

haha, and you wonder why I don't play to befriend anyone.

Where would you like me to start, I'll just cut and paste from other posts... seriously you should maybe think about doing what all of us have suggested, go away and let the thread die. The longer it goes on the worse your shell looks and the longer people remember the thread.

In case you haven't figured it out. Rage is Pandetech. -.-
