My, my, my....WHERE to begin....
I honestly cannot express my astonishment when it comes to your rebuttles.
Where to even begin?
Gonna snip some here and some from there and maybe I'll know how to convey this.
Actually, no. Psylent said himself that he's had other bad experiences with the members from this particular linkshell. A linkshell that you seem to enjoy for what it's worth.
He said that he's had other bad experiences but this particular one pushed him to actually post this flame. This sounds pretty legitimate to me.
As for the harassment?
Shouldn't that conversation between those two be proof enough?
Need me to elaborate even more?
Pandetech opened a conversation with "Can I touch your penis?" How is that NOT harassment? Sexual harassment at that. Bravo. Really.
Then how come I saw this one? See below.
I'm no stranger to this, since many people have begged me for gil.
This ranged from legit looking level 1 players to level 1 RMTs.
Please, enlighten me. How do you explain these? See below.
Now before you say that Manbearpig does not allow gil-begging within the ls, then shouldn't they somewhat implement that to the outside of the linkshell as well?
A ls pearl is something you can have to chat with a large group of people, but its also a neon sign for other people outside of that group to see what kind of group you are in.
It's kinda like wearing a school uniform.
If people see someone wearing this uniform to be begging for money, they will instantly remember to stay the hell away from that school and those who go to it.
Mmmmmkay.
Look I can probably tell you that just because I'm not in your linkshell that yes, there are probably some things that I probably would rather not know.
However, when I see stuff like the bolded part, that just confirms my belief of how poorly run it must be in my eyes. Kumarr does not tell them not do their supposed job and yet he does not tell them how to do it in the first place.
Look, this is a community-based game.
If people see something wierd or not being done right, they will first at least let you know what you could be doing wrong AND maybe suggest somethings to you know....fix it?
If they don't see any improvement or anything else that could remedy the situation, then yes, they WILL explain their experience to the community to let others know.
If you just want to have the biggest social linkshell on the server as Pandetech/Kumarr put it (quite frankly, I don't care which one said it), then by all means go ahead recruit every single player you can. However like any kind of empire, there will be a great downfall due to not getting orders to the far reaches of your borders, lack of communication and so on.
Lol, seems to me that you are not even sure of who is which, let alone Pandetech's gender.
Like I said in the very first part, Psylent has had other experiences with Manbearpig, this one just pushed him to actually post something about it.
That sounds like provocation to me, I don't know about you.
You are blowing things out of proportion here.
Anyone can help another out in this game, should they choose to.
Heck gimps can try to help each other without dying when it comes to certain missions but their gimpness can only take them so far, do you understand what I'm saying?
People feel good when they accomplish something, hence they try to gear up their jobs to the best of their abilities, actually learn their supposed job roles and be functional as much as possible.
Here, Trippy sums it up well here.
That's why people want to stay away from gimped people.
How you present yourself, how you play, what your gear is like...all of that are factors people look into when they are going to do something with you.
By not teaching new people how to play, you are not helping them at all.
They can't even stand on their own two feet.
That's cheating alot of potential out of new players, don't you think?
I mean there's this...
I'm pretty amazed how you still do not seem to get it.
2 WHMs and 1 RDM. Hmmm...and it seems like even Kumarr wasn't even healing as much himself while he was a WHM. Need I say more?
When you are a new player, you are going to see what others do and base your knowledge on that if you did not do any kind of research on the game already.
I asked a high level WHM in my first social how to play his job when I had to level it for my sub. I learned alot of things from him like how I'm not supposed to pull hate from DDs or tanks, or how I should heal them, and to rest my MP pool so that I can be ready for anything.
When the 2 main people in a social is neglecting to tell their members how to play, thats not a good thing at all. Seriously. If you are in a position to be mentoring those new players, then you have to do your best to educate them regardless.
Now do you see why I'm having a problem with that attitude of carrying players just because they are new?
And I know it's not just me because here's one.
Monkey see, monkey do. See what Kumarr does and this is what they do.
Oh wait, Pandetech too. That's where Kumarr must have learned right?
Monkey see, monkey do. See what Pandetech does and this is what Kumarr learns.
And your beloved ls leader Kumarr has the cojones to say this.
Ah, but to each his own, I suppose?
It's a shame because you keep on dismissing other people's views on the linkshell. You keep on dismissing it by saying how they are not in the linkshell and therefore they can't say anything.
Judging on just how the members are presented/presenting themselves speaks volumes.
Some people lack pieces of gear, some people don't know how to play.
Yeah...and how is this linkshell helping its members if they can't teach the basics?
People (who have a sane mind) will not want anything to do with these members just on that alone, myself included.
If it's just one member, ok maybe there's some room for excuse.
However when you see more members with the same type of gimpness in gear or playing style then you know it's a bigger problem. I'm pretty sure anyone can tell you that.
It's bad enough that this linkshell is being lead by Pandetech and his clone Kumarr.
People know of him enough to stay the f*ck away from him.
I mean its bad enough when you see stuff like this....
...and repeatedly getting invites to a linkshell that those 2 are associated in?
Meanwhile when you do decline them you have to decline them so many friggin times.
Blacklist?
Yeah, maybe but you know, if people say "No" at least twice, you better get it through your head that they do not want to join.
Enough said.
I honestly cannot express my astonishment when it comes to your rebuttles.
Where to even begin?
Gonna snip some here and some from there and maybe I'll know how to convey this.
1.) Raey, he was posting about a personal experience. I asked him specifically if he was harassed, and he wasn't. If that was the topic of the flame, I'd say "Flame on!"
However, the reason this whole flame started is because there were a couple o' noobs in some party.
Besides, I don't think there could possibly be harassment in this game, since the /blist function is available.

Need me to elaborate even more?
Pandetech opened a conversation with "Can I touch your penis?" How is that NOT harassment? Sexual harassment at that. Bravo. Really.
Hmmm...alright, that's your response.2.) This is the second time I've said this, MANBEARPIG DOES NOT ENCOURAGE GIL-BEGGING INSIDE THE LINKSHELL
Then how come I saw this one? See below.
Oh shut up, my friend's sent me SS'es of the stupidity that goes on in there. Most of it's asking for PLs, gil and whatever else.
I'm no stranger to this, since many people have begged me for gil.
This ranged from legit looking level 1 players to level 1 RMTs.
Please, enlighten me. How do you explain these? See below.
Seconded as he asked me for 100 gil while I was AFK a few weeks ago.
I told him to piss off, then he got all pansy with me about it. I didn't realize he was Pandetech's cousin/brother/father, but I should have guessed, since they sound about the same.
We were in Jeuno.
Rolanberry Fields and a plethora of goblins holding cash were right outside.
No more justification of my "piss off" is needed.

3.) Since you've never been inside the linkshell, you cannot tell them how they run. They do not "hold hands". Like I said, I was helped because I cannot solo the Rank 2-3 Dragon. Although I'm sure there are people who can, I chose to ask for help, which I received. I've never once gotten any complaints in party for me being "Noobish." Kumar does not tell them not to do their supposed job.
I'm just giving you facts. Facts you do not know and should not know, because you have never been in the linkshell for an extended period of time.

4.) Kumar had provocation. Psylent had no such thing. Also, I never said he was "successful". KUMAR AND PANDETECH ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON. I was referring to Pandetech, not Kumar. (I see his name as Kumarr in the game, I think 0.o
5.) I never denied the fact that it wasn't a bad experience. However, it was "well-played", since Psylent was so dramatic as to actually post about one singular experience and label it as the linkshell's fault. (If it wasn't just one particular experience, it should've been in his first post.) )
Lol, seems to me that you are not even sure of who is which, let alone Pandetech's gender.
Like I said in the very first part, Psylent has had other experiences with Manbearpig, this one just pushed him to actually post something about it.
That sounds like provocation to me, I don't know about you.
As far as I'm aware of, no one has told you to leave the linkshell in actuality.6.) I am not denying that these experiences have happened, I am simply saying small reasons like "They're filled with gimp!" is not a sufficient reason to leave a linkshell. They help me out, and I will make sure that the name of that linkshell is not polluted even further from people like you, who have never been in the linkshell but claim that "They teach their players to do this!"
If no one can give me a reason to leave other than "They are gimp!" "They party badly!" then I suppose this thread is over, since it's a social linkshell and their "skill" in-game does not make them a better or worse human being. I interact with these human beings, and they make my stay in FFXI enjoyable.
You are blowing things out of proportion here.
Anyone can help another out in this game, should they choose to.
Heck gimps can try to help each other without dying when it comes to certain missions but their gimpness can only take them so far, do you understand what I'm saying?

Here, Trippy sums it up well here.
If there is a shell that has members with empty gear slots as late as level 25, I want to stay away fom them. The reason? I want to have fun. Winning is fun. Doing well is fun. Being good at the game and playing with others that are good is fun. Playing with people that can't do their job because their gear sucks is not fun. Melee with no gear? Good luck hitting anything. Mage with no gear? Probably means you can't be bothered to buy all your spells either. Not to mention even if you have em, your MP pool will be tiny, you'll have no -enmity, and you'll be resisted on any nuke or enfeeble you may try to throw. No gear pretty much means no food too. No food at any level is inexcusable.
That's why people want to stay away from gimped people.
How you present yourself, how you play, what your gear is like...all of that are factors people look into when they are going to do something with you.
By not teaching new people how to play, you are not helping them at all.
They can't even stand on their own two feet.

I mean there's this...
This is what is making your linkshell look really bad lol.I agree with Ex here about letting them sink, if they are really that bad and don't wanna take advice, boot them. If you're not the leader, disband party and solo till you get something better. Allowing the progression of horrid players hurts everyone. We have too many jackasses at 75 who don't understand how a basic skill chain is set up and simple stuff like hate control.
When I leveled in this game, I leveled first in the school of hard knocks. If I did something I shouldn't, I was told what I did wrong. If I did it again, I died. Simple as that.
As for this shell in question, I had a party on my 17 RDM with them once. Had Two WHM (one being Kumarr) and a BLM from their shell as well as two WAR (one being Pandetech).
I, a Galka RDM, ended up doing the majority of the healing while I stayed in the party, and when I questioned it, Pandetech insisted that they were new to playing the job and had to be carried a little. UNACCEPTABLE! By 12 WHM you should grasp main healing to the point you can do it fine with a little help from a RDM. At 17 you should be at least relatively proficient even on your first job, maybe without great hate control. Two WHM in a party means the RDM should *never* hafta heal. I don't think that's being elitist in any form. And when the two primary members of a shell tell you that it's ok to be like that, I'm sorry it's a very bad reflection on a shell.
I'm pretty amazed how you still do not seem to get it.
2 WHMs and 1 RDM. Hmmm...and it seems like even Kumarr wasn't even healing as much himself while he was a WHM. Need I say more?

Now do you see why I'm having a problem with that attitude of carrying players just because they are new?
And I know it's not just me because here's one.
Giving newer players advice on how to handle links or where to XP and such will help them learn to become better players overall. If you PL them to 30 and hand them some keys, they're up for a damn rough time when they get Goblin Smithy agro and have absolutely no idea how to handle it, and it'll only get worse from there.
Because they were PLed to 30, they never took (or even needed) the time to stop and farm items for gil, which they likely now have absolutely no idea how or where good spots are to get some. This also typically ends very badly.
Saying people at L30+ have an excuse to miss vital equipment slots due to being 'new at a game' is a joke. In pretty much every RPG ever made, empty equipment slots is a bad thing.
Monkey see, monkey do. See what Kumarr does and this is what they do.
To be fair, it was a BLM with a level 4 /WHM. Though that only takes away the inappropriate sub for the mainjob problem. It's still indicative that they went back to town to get a sub... but didn't actually bother *levelling* that sub to the point of being useful.
Oh wait, Pandetech too. That's where Kumarr must have learned right?
Monkey see, monkey do. See what Pandetech does and this is what Kumarr learns.
I have seen Pandetech once since the douchebag has been back and he WAS gimp. The others i'm talking about were in their 30's, 40's, and 50's and gimp as a newb in a starter zone.
And your beloved ls leader Kumarr has the cojones to say this.
People play to have a good time. They'd rather play and have fun with people who know what the f*ck they are doing rather than people who don't.I have a little something i want you to get in on...First off some people in the game are gimp...Deal with it? Just because they are gimp doesn't mean you cant have a good time...
Ah, but to each his own, I suppose?
Also, you're saying that it's a "shame" that I joined the linkshell. However, I have already told you why it wasn't a "shame". I was asking you why it was a "shame". If you can't give me that answer, I'm going to have to assume that you know nothing of the subject. Therefore, I'd also have to assume that you've never been in the linkshell before.
Which brings me to my next point, if you were never in the shell, how would you know anything about its internal function? If you've never been in the shell, you wouldn't be able to see how helpful it is.
It's a shame because you keep on dismissing other people's views on the linkshell. You keep on dismissing it by saying how they are not in the linkshell and therefore they can't say anything.
Judging on just how the members are presented/presenting themselves speaks volumes.

Yeah...and how is this linkshell helping its members if they can't teach the basics?
People (who have a sane mind) will not want anything to do with these members just on that alone, myself included.
Because if the leaders are being negligent towards their members more apparent needs, then it is apparent to others that there is something wrong with the linkshell.Rage said:If this is the case, why do you name the flameboard "Manbearpig"? Just because you see one or two or eight gimps doesn't mean the entire linkshell is gimp. And even if it is, what kind of grounds is that for a flameboard thread?
If it's just one member, ok maybe there's some room for excuse.
However when you see more members with the same type of gimpness in gear or playing style then you know it's a bigger problem. I'm pretty sure anyone can tell you that.
It's bad enough that this linkshell is being lead by Pandetech and his clone Kumarr.
People know of him enough to stay the f*ck away from him.
I mean its bad enough when you see stuff like this....
Kumarr was harassing people along with Pandetech in South Sandy and shouting recruitments for this shell maybe...2 months ago.
...and repeatedly getting invites to a linkshell that those 2 are associated in?
Meanwhile when you do decline them you have to decline them so many friggin times.
Blacklist?
Yeah, maybe but you know, if people say "No" at least twice, you better get it through your head that they do not want to join.
