Map Modifications ?? {Hmmmm}

Tell me how windower is harmful to another player and I will concede. You are just toying with a technicality/semantics. Also your title is moronic, you are on PS2, you couldnt use windower if you wanted to or not. You are not making a choice not to use it, there is no choice to make. That's like a 10 year old with a title of "DOESNT drink and drive" No crap, there is no physical possibility for him to do so, so it means nothing. Try "DOESNT use a turbo controller" or something.

So you're saying anyone on PC using a controller, any PS2 user with an aftermarket controller is cheating because they are using 3rd party hardware? Give me a break.

Supposedly Windower allows hacks to be used easier. However as I haven't the slightest clue how to use hacks it doesn't effect my playing of the game. Don't tell me to just get it for the PS2 as that's pretty difficult in the UK. I will use the windower and if I get banned i'll just stop playing the game.

I wasn't aware replacing textures is a "Third Party Program" is this something they teach at community college these days?

You should next flame anyone who uses a egg-timer to keep track of spawn times. In fact, why not start a flame over those of us who play at 1600x1200 and see things much better and clearer then you.

Doesn't make it easier. A skilled programmer can still get around it without using a windower. Not that it requires a lot of skill to get around SE's programming anyway... They could make it so the windower doesn't work, but why doesn't it?

a) they are lazy
b) they don't care
c) if they did, people wouldn't enjoy FFXI as much and quit
d) all of the above

It's the exact same thing with gil sellers, they COULD remove the gil sellers very easy, but the gil sellers pay, and extremely many (maybe more then most of us realize I bet) buy gil, and thus some of the people who buy gil quit.

I'm sure more people would quit the game if gil sellers were removed then the number who quit because the gil sellers are still in the game. And if you didn't realise it yet, SE is a large company, and is thus after making money. And they see more money in letting the gil sellers stay then they do in removing them, same with the windower. They let the windower stay, while "banning" those they find (it's the same with hacks), and thus benefit both sides of the coin. And thus, making more money.

I mean, let's face it. SE isn't stupid, I'm sure they realize most people on PC use the windower, so they can't ban them all unless they want to lose millions.

All true. I think SE could do something about gilselling though. They could start their own gilselling division. Thus they could force the gilsellers out out of the market. The main problem with this though, is unless they bought the gil off gilsellers they would have to "create" more gil. This wouldn't really help the economy.

Yes the window can be used by people with impure hearts to cheat in game but I dont consider it to be cheating by just using the windower.

I dont think haveing your Parties TP displayed is a bad thing all it does is make the game that much more efficent.

How many of yall pn PC where wasting time LFG and you say many i wish o could do something else while still LFG. Well the windower lets you do that. Ive worked on lots of school projects while i was LFG and i couldnt do that before i got the windower casue eerytime i tried to minimize FFXI to open microsoft Word the game would crash. so i had to pick one or the other.

It just makes sense to use the Windower if you can

post WW1 in germany just be like that when the mark hit 13mil for 1 dollar lol

Went a lot worse than that. Wheelbarrows full of marks for 1 loaf of bread, the price for which would treble in a few hours.

People prefered to use money as toilet paper instead of actuall toilet paper since money were cheaper... Thief's stole wheelbarrow instead of the money in it etc.

Cheating is gaining an unfair advantage. If you are going to be technical, by playing on the ps2 and having your computer free to look up maps and quest info, you have an unfair advantage over pc players who don't have the windower. In the case of players using the windower you are on equal footing. So if pc players with the windower are cheating, so are you.

In the case of these maps. You have access through your pc to see all these maps any time whether you have them or not. A pc player loading these maps in is only able to see the maps they have unlocked in game. Again, you are the one with an unfair advantage. You can't call us cheaters without calling yourself one too. :nyam:

Are all you fucking losers cheating again?

Vang, you know me of all people, need this map Nic gave the link to. I love it, I need it, and I'm proud to say I use it.

Shush now please^^.

Do not tell me what is cheating and what is not cheating.

BREAKING TOS IS CHEATING.

Using turbo pads cheating? Nope. Getting up from my chair to check my PC for info cheating? Nope. Using THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS? Yep.

This is not a gray area folks, black and white, plain as day.

Btw I do have PC version installed, played it for about a week on PC and realized I can't stand being in front of my monitor in an office chair, thanks for your concern though Mistaya.

Come at me now Gims or anyone else with your logic on what is not cheating.

Egg timers? Don't see that anywhere in TOS, do you?

Didn't think so kiddo, I will assume this thread is over now and I won't be getting anymore responses. Thank you and good night.

If you are going to assume everyone with a PS2 has a router+computer, then I'll assume you have a router and second computer and can get up to that computer and access the same info without breaking the TOS.

For a mexican this guy is pretty smart, who is this "Meeze" fellow anyways?

1 word to you both: Whatever!!!!

This topic has gotten out of hand. We are fighting it on two fronts, and you don't even have a reason to except your own smugness at picking a stand you think you can win at.

Do you play your PC version? No? Then wtf does anyone care that you own it. You choose to play on the PS2. I own the X-box copy, am I a saint for not using windower when i play it? How is 3rd party hardware different from 3rd party software? Is using a physical 'bot' (Setting up a small device to hit keys in a sequence/putting a rubberband over the turbo controller provoke bind) any less cheating than a program that does the same thing?

This whole thing is moot anyways. I'm going to use windower to make my game more enjoyable and you're going to call me a cheater while looking up info on your PC while you watch your tv screen over your shoulder. I just realized after typing this that I don't really care what you think of me or any other PC player who uses windower. There may be no grey area for you, but there is a grey area between following the TOS and enjoying the game without harming other players for me.
