Mass Effect

Jesus christ. I just got the rich achievement (get a million bucks) and unlocked the specter weapons. They rape the shit out of everything. I took out a geth anterus with my assault rifle with continuous fire before it overheated. The extra mod they take it bad ass too. 15hours in so far and beat feros and norvalen (sp?) and most of the side quests given so far, maybe checked out half the clusters.

Double post.

Just beat the game. Took about 22 hours. Its pretty sexy once you beat it you can start over with your same character and you have all the same money, level, weapons etc you had before. So im a lvl 49 solider with all the specter weapons and level VIII armor and upgrades. Shit drops in like 2 hits its beautiful. Gonna probably start fresh too though with a new character and be a prick to everyone just for shits and giggles.

Easy way to make a million credits lol? I've been doing mainly the side quests and haven't done much story at all. Seems it would take forever to get a million credits.

Sell everything. I only really use tali and ashley so every upgrade, weapon, armor or anything i wouldnt use for them or me i sell. I got it before or i went to feros so i had only done norv and then a few of the side quests. And they are amazing. I got this one upgrade on the last planet (which i lost due to death and then couldn't find it again) that was like 24% stability and 10% heat suppression or w/e its called. I put it on the specter rifle with another 25% stability and when i zoomed in i got like absolutely no spread on my reticule and it probably would have taken me close to a min of just shooting to overheat it, it was ridiculous.

Survey/find minerals on worlds early on. Then start selling everything. Money is really no object in the game.

Hmm im 20 hours in, only done one planet and every side quest, i sell most everything and I still only got 300k lol. I dont see how you guys made a million so quick. Im lvl 21 and still haven't touched the main story overall.

Anyway if I had one negative to the game, it's the Mako. I hate how the gun turret doesn't target up or down lol. If you're on a rock or something you'll always overshoot the enemies and you pretty much have to be ground level with them.

Anway for my specializion class I went with Shock Trooper since i'm a Vanguard they are quite frail compared to tech and soilder classes.

Btw some adivce for a few. Try and max out Charm or intimidate early. It opens alot more options and makes things easier and more exp. rewarded for choices given.

How the FUCK are you 20 hours in and only lvl 21. Shit you could sit there and do nothing and get more exp in 20 hours. By hour 20 for me i was about lvl 40 and im pretty sure i did most side quests. I noticed though the time of saves is off, I had an auto save at like 19h52 one time, then cleared out a room and saved and the save said 19h51 which was after the auto save which made me go WTF. Also never buy shit, unless its the specter weapons. You can find everything thats as good, if not better for free on planets, just make sure to check every security lock up (so make sure you have someone with electronics and decipher leveled up.

Does anyone actually notice any framerate issues with the game? I've seen it in a few reviews, and my friend (on a normal 360, decently old one too) swears there are issues, but the only time I *ever* experienced anything like framerate issues on my Elite was when the autosave was going, or loading.

Any frame issues and others like it are probably fixed by just clearing the cache. Some people just bitch too much. Dont mind them.

I don't buy anything at all, and yeah it's actually 21 hours but some of that is me away from my xbox like when my girl is over lol. So probably only around 12 full hours of playing.

I haven't had any issues with loading or framerates, the only things i've noticed it textures loading in late but that doesn't bother me to much and doesn't happen to often.

To aim down on the Mako, you gotta zoom in using the scope.

Lol, i didn't even know you could zoom/scope in the mako. That makes shit way easier.

Also I finally got around to watching serenity last night and saw some things that made me think of mass effect. I don't remember them cause i was kinda tired when i watched it but just remember them having some similar points. One super obvious one is that both the human civilizations refer to themselves as alliance. Anyone else seen serenity/firefly and noticed this?

While zooming lets you aim down, it still doesn't let you shoot down. The turret has a set lowness(word?) of shooting, that is way too high to be of great worth. Half the times in fire fights with the mako, i'd rather get out and rack up more kills for my sniper achievement.

Also, did anyone else look at the achievements in the extras? I've never played a game where getting an achievement actually unlocks something for you within the game itself.

Yeah you can, hit the right stick to zoom in again and you can shoot down.

I haven't checked but doesn't it open up new attacks for each weapon? Not sure.

Oh and I still haven't beat it yet. I've only done one main planet for story so far and im level 37 lol.

For each achievement you get, it unlocks something for the next character you roll on that account. I.E. having the assault rifle kills achievement, unlocks the assault rifle talent for the next character, regardless of class. So you could be a pure tech and still use the assault rifle. Its pretty nice.

So far the shotgun is my favorite weapon by far. Is it me, or is that bad boy overpowered? I mean I literally one-shot most of my enemies. I think that 3 shots was the most I've ever fired on one guy!

It reminds me a lot of Stargate meets Babylon 5. The asari really remind me of the Minbari, and the interactions between the species just seem to fit how the Babylon 5 aliens reacted to each other.

And Stargate cause there's hardly any space interaction. Go to one planet, go back to station, go to another planet.

People zoom on the Mako? Why? All you need is the cannon and an invisible plow(For Geth quads.) The machine gun is useless.
