Masterchief goes down to...Bob/Bub!

I personally can't stand when people pull the Halo Jump/Bhop or whatever it'll be called next. More so because I never think to do it myself >.> lol AND I think it's a pussy move much like pre-shooting and sporting Juggerslut, but that's me =p And girls don't play video games heh

I don't get the hype over Halo. Again, not a fan, so why would I right? There are other sci-fi games that I have liked though, but they're more suspense/action not so much fps. Like Prototype, Dark Sector etc

Oh Christ, prefire. I fucking hate that. It almost just reeks of wallhax.

What I hated the most is when it was used during clan battles but not slated as cheating, which technically it's not, but it's a pussy enough move to be considered cheating imo.

HATE IT *does her best bubble-gum cheerleader impression*

Its true most people hate halo because its popular and its the "in" thing to be different. But call of duty is a great game too, and Bub and Bob are a better choice than master chief anyway. Too many fond memories of that game.

that's usually why most people hate good games in general :P they don't like that it's popular or the fanbase and so they stupidly hate the game.

Me? I like Halo fine but I don't like the "it's the second coming of jesus!" mentality that I've met from a lot of Halo fans. *shrugs*

Halo still sucks lol

Yeah a close friend of mine told me the exact thing recently, I asked if he was gonna go to the midnight release for modern warfare 2 with me and he said no because he hates call of duty.
I asked "are you kidding me?! its one of the best shooters on a console!" and he said "I hate it because its popular, I dont like things that tons of other people like. Once it came out all people did was play that, and i hated it"
i couldn't believe he flat out said it like he saw it. its annoying, but thats how people think.

When something is popular, it just means that there are that many more people who are better than you at it.

Some people would rather be the big fish in the small pond.

First off, I think console shooters are far better than pc shooters.

Ecks - Halo is a multiplayer game, the story fails and everyone knows it. No one buys the game to play campaign, same with cod4.

Morchy - You say halo is really easy, but that's kind of a ridiculous claim. You whacked some nubs with a hammer and thought it was easy to be good. I was a hardcore halo 2 (got 3-4 rank 45+ in halo 3 also, but just not as fun) player, and I'd like to think I was very good. It's not an easy game, and the ranking is completely different than cod, which your used to. You wont play the skilled players until your rank is 45+. It's like playing a shooter against your friends, you own them and it makes you think your really good at the game, till you play someone online that blows you away, making you feel like the beginner. In Cod4 it randomly puts players of any skill together, although better players do tend to go to hardcore search and destroy and such.

Honestly I no longer play any halo games, and prefer cod4 by a long shot. But Halo 2-3/odst are still great games. Just a lot different with the whole futuristic thing. I agree with morchy that the auto-aim isn't that game changing, and does fuck you over more than it helps. And any PC lover that wont play console shooters because of auto-aim, well.. suprise! You can turn it off in the options.

I never played online. I played co-op campaign, so I found it easy whomping the CP's. Which it was.

That's not the reason I don't like Halo, it's too futuristic. I said that before.

If it is set-up how you've said, more advanced players are pinned against players of a similar or same rank, well that sounds like a good idea. I would never assume I was good at a game I never played. But honest to god the campaign became laughable when I slaughtered the CP's with nothing but a sledgehammer.

Well yeah the single player mode is a joke, I beat it on legendary the day I got it. But only for achievements, otherwise no one cares for it.

On Legendary, by yourself the game is just as difficult as every other shooter. Halo's difficulty does not scale well in co-op..

Resistance 2's co-op campaigns are the only one i can think of that are actually challenging during co-op.

CoD:WaW is the only co-op campaign i can go off from the CoD series and i can say it lowers the difficulty a great deal.

Sure, by difficulty in a CoD game we dont actually mean the games AI improving or anything... If we are being honest the only thing hard about CoD is the infinite grenades the enemies throw and the pin point grenade tosses.

I would also like to add that CoD4 is by far the easiest online shooter i have ever played. No other shooter on the market is so noob friendly and i believe that is what directly increased the sales of the game. Casual players flock to CoD4 just as casual gamers flock to the Wii.

Uh, I personally, and all my friends...and just about anyone ive met camping out hours for any halo release, love the story and know it in depth from the game and the books. It doesnt fail at all, when i buy my games, its campaign first, multiplayer second.
Maybe not in the case of MW2 since me and my friends will want to get on a murder right away that night, but i still will focus time into the campaign.
When me and my friends got a halo title, we always jumped right into the story mode and completed that first, before we even touch multiplayer.
That way, its out of the way, and we can just focus on killing online.
But to say no one buys it for campaign and that everyone thinks the halo story sucks, is pretty damn false.

During halo 3's midnight release, people were lined up around the fuckin block, i got there hours early so i was about 20 people back in line, they held raffles off for gift cards based on trivia questions that all had to do with the halo story, 60% of the questions were from things not mentioned in the games, and only told in the books. You would be surprised how many peoples hands flew up because everyone just about knew the answers, and they were not common questions that were easy.

This is me and two friends campin halo 3, this is about 5 stores away from game stop in the line.

Me ownin some kids at the toledo riot gamers halo 3 tournament, took home 500 bucks.

The game has a huge following, for both multiplayer and story, and as much as people like to bash it, its a part of our gaming history now and always will be.
I dont play it much at all anymore, its rare. Im CoD all the way, But when a new title drops, ill grab it. Just because it was such a big part of my life in gaming. Its what got me into FPS, its how i got my gamertag, its too many memories of halo 1 on LAN at my friends houses with pizza and beer screaming at the tv and recapping and talking about everything that happened after every match that ended.
The fun crazy times goofing off in co-op, and those "OH SHIT!!" moments the story would bring when you just didnt think you were gonna survive.
Even if i grew out of it, i fuckin love halo. I miss when it was still new.

I too beat the story real quick before playing online, in halo anyway, not cod. It's ok.. to me anyway, I don't enjoy it anywhere near as much as I do shootin bitches online. So maybe you're right and some people do enjoy it.

And Osyris, cod4 is pretty noob friendly, but I notice you tend to play a lot of team deathmatch. In my eyes the lesser skilled players (not calling you lesser skilled, you have a higher kill/death than I) go to those gametypes. If you play hardcore S&D you will find the most skilled players the game has to offer. People that can wipe the entire other team without losing a single man. So really it doesn't matter if it's noob friendly or not. It's hard to explain what I'm trying to get at lol, but most people in game focus around kill/death ratio and win/loss.

lol osy is certainly a high skilled player, ive played with him many times and we..rape.
Personally im more of a headquarters fan and a team tactical fan, whats your K/D ice?

I would say 4-5 people in my clan could have a K/D over 2-2.5 in our prime and if we didnt stop caring for it. One of us has created his new XBL account just so he can keep a K/D over 2.4.. What a sad creature he is though.. Part of that is because the game is just so easy.

We have fooled with S&D and used to be pretty serious in it. S&D is how i got my 50 win streak and how some of our clan have streaks over 120 for wins. Sometimes we go back to it but in no way do the skilled players hang out there. The same amount of skilled players are in TDM, trust me. Its just personal preference where you play.

You are never on CoD4 anymore Chas;;

We dont play as much anymore as well but we go on for our weekly dosage of slaying people.

You know what.. I was a very good Halo player and i dont recall ever having a 15-20 kill streak. I dont recall ever going 30-0 in wins in one night as well. Eventually i always met my match and died or lost a game my a terrible score. Thats stuff is common every time i pop CoD4 in. Im just sayin lol..

EDIT: I wanted to add this will probably force Chas to play CoD4 at some point this week. Let me know your gamertag Icewolf and ill get ya in there as well.

well your right on that one lol, ill play this week for sure. I got on there with my brother and his friend for a bit just to show em how to bust a move in there, but my main group of guys have been on WaW so thats where i stayed. But sure ill play this week, gotta get a lil more time in it since ill be tradin the last two CoDs in for MW2 soon.

I call BS on you Osi. I'm not going to argue that guys aren't good, but I know for a fact even on TD or S&D I have played better at times. That's just because people have off days.

But I do have to agree with Ice that S&D is where you find the skilled players. K/D matters not to me, I don't give a shit and since I shared my account for a year and even let Genk play it (which would severely hurt anyone's K/D) I never focused on it.

But when a team is wiped in S&D, if a dumbfuck decides to RG his team at the start leaving only one surviving member to clutch the match, that is where you find the skilled players. Sometimes it's luck but not often.

Again I can't compare to Halo whether it's easier or harder, I don't care which is considered easier or harder. CoD is noob friendly but when you find those elitist types up against you it's a blast to get into mode and give them a reason to shittalk.

Ice, you're my maker, though I had the hardest time for a while getting you to play S&D. Linds couldn't get into it, and that girl was badass, especially with a pistol =)

BS on what Cheebs? You mean when your clan was begging to not use air strikes and choppers?

If you mean the K/D ratios...

KC would easily be above 2.5
Fastjack would easily be over 2.5
Elei, Ivolt and Lib would all be over 2
I could easily be over 2
Berto is over 2 now

Not even in this example does it mean the higher K/D ratio makes that player better.

Fastjack snipes pretty exclusively.. Medium to high kill count and just about no more then 5 deaths. It doesnt mean he is better then Elei who is more of an assault type of person. Medium to high kills with deaths anywhere from 5-8 on average. Jacks K/D would be higher though.

I only used the K/D because Icewolf brought it up.

There is absolutley no way S&D players are more skilled then TDM players. Unless you are talking about the ability to camp lol.

The only difference between S&D and TDM is in S&D you have to be more careful and watch your corners. TDM is perhaps funner as you respawn after you die which saves on the fustration of having to wait till the end of a round. Il sometimes go into Hardcore Headquaters for the fun of it, but gota be in the mood :P.

All this talk is really bringing me down... I was king of clutch in hardcore cod4... Wish my PC didn't die :<

I'll have to salvage some screenshots so i don't get called BS on. :)

My k/d is only 1.40, went down a lot, for some reason. I mainly play hardcore headquarters, and almost always break 25 kills, sometimes 40-15 or so, but the fuckin ratio never changes. Also like morchy I've let many friends play on my account (the kind that go 4-22), so I kinda half care about my ratio, since its not all my doing.

I strongly believe the more skilled players go to s&d though, in deathmatch people run around like idiots cause it doesn't matter if they die, they'll just respawn. Camping in s&d can get annoying, but after playing it a lot, you know all the spots to check, and it can give you some easy kills. So it's not so bad.

Oh and you have my gamertag osi, it's snicklebits
