OK so this happened about a week ago so kinda old but hey, havent had a moment to hop on. I get into an avatar party thanks to my ls leader who knows i need the avatars.
(Quick info: I am trying to lvl smn as ive been told its the best sub for whm after lvl 65)
I get to the party as its still establishing members, low and behold they cant find a tank. Well the party leader then says I have 2 rdm's that will come but the party already has 4 members. OK fine, lets see there is a 55 smn who needs the whisper for fenrir and theres me who needs the actual avatar. SO what does the party leader say:
"Id rather help a player who needs it then a low level who wants the avatar for fun"
OUCH! OK so I let it blow over not knowing this is directed toward me. Well the smn either disbands or dc's im not sure. But the leader then lets me know its me he was referring to. OK most of you know me, I am very nice and very understanding and I try to make everyone happy, WHICH is why I am trying to lvl smn. Well Mr Man whm (lvl 60) tells me that he didnt get any help with his avatars until he was lvl 60!
OK FINE!! But can anyone see where I would get my feelings hurt! He called me a low lvl! I was lvl 54 at the time and the smn was 55!

Anyway, this made me very upset and very hurt. Was I wrong? I just thought that comment was quite rude. And anyway, just because things were hard for you, you cant help anyone else?

alot of people get kinda silly about the primes (i.e. pt of 70+s wanting the person they're helping to be 65+, etc.) it is kinda ass-hatish to call 50+ low lvl .. and yea, if they brought you along to help ya out what's the point of bitchin about your lvl, seems kinda lame.. anywho, i've done all the primes so far save shiva and need to do at least all of em again no less than once a pop, if you happen to need a DD for a prime look me up, i'll be glad to help and might know some other folks who wont give ya any crap about your lvls

Gene, your completely in the right to be pissed. I know I would be. I'm not gonna level SMN at all till I have all the avatars and a pair of Astrals ^^ People should learn to STFU and help people for the sake of helping people, not based on their level/rank/how they were treated. It's the same as some guy beating his kids bc thats how he was brought up. It's just not right. Picking on someone who is going through something you had to go through is never right. If you need any help, you know where to find me Gene.

PS. Get you and Apoc to 60 in the next month so we can static ^^

Yeah that seemed a little harsh. If he felt you were too low to do the battle he should have said something at the start when you joined the party.

Below 60 is a little low for fighting primes, however with a good party of 55's it can be done.

I don't understand why people are all stressed out over these avatars anyway. It isn't like they are exactly that hard to beat. Me and my static NIN kill them all the time just us two and NIN and WHM duo.

In fact myself (WHM) and a BLM friend of mine duo'd shiva on Iceday. So I don't see a level 55 party (give or take a level) having any problem killing the primes once they get the hang of fighting them.

Grats on the avatars on I wouldn't even pay attention to this person.

So the guy probably felt bad for doing it, but at that point, it's either one person doesn't get to do it or nobody gets to do it.

Maybe he wasn't refering to your actual level, but the level of your summoner. If I had a choice between helping a Smn main get an Av, or a Whm who is going to sub Smn in 11 levels, Id probably take the Smn too. Sure, Id like to take everyone and just do it twice, but the way the fights are setup makes this impossible.

Inviting a whm when he was looking for a tank is dumb on his part. He shouldn't have taken it out on her. If he can't form a party correctly at that level, it should've been him that was the target of the party's ridicule. When I make a party, and I need to fill a certain job, I don't invite another job and ridicule them for not being useful.

Thanks pomp. Thats pretty much my point. The comment that the whm mad was just flat out rude. Why not send me a tell and just say "hey i need your spot in the party could you please disband?" I would have at said ok I understand and fine. But no he had to be mean. And for the record Alanon. Im trying to take smn to 75.

I haven't given you any help in this, but I sure would have had I been high enough level to. I'm glad that you found nice people to help you. I hope that your nice people list is far longer than your mean people list, and I hope to one day make your nice people list as well. Congrats and good luck! *hugs*

Oh so, pomp, Im assuming when you make a party, you invite a tank before inviting a healer right? Gimme a break. Either way it's screwed up.

and Geneviene, Im sure the lvl55 Smn was also trying to take the job to 75. If you are so serious about the job, there are these things called mini-fork battles where you don't have to rely on "mean people".
