Mega Man 9 - classic Mega Man, coming to WiiWare, Xbox Live and Playstation Network

OMG!! =D This is awesome news!! I miss the old school Megaman and Megaman X games.
I just don't like the new kiddy battle network stuff.
But this is going to feel weird considering Mega Man 8 had quite a face lift, and now we're rolling back in graphics. Oh well, if the game is good and has great story then I'll love it.

Don't think it's exclusive either, as the OFLC classified it multiplatform, so may end up also releasing on XBOX Live and PSN, when it gets announced for those a mod can move thread to multi-platform gaming.
Just posted here cause it was first announced for WiiWare via the newest Nintendo Power.

Xbox Live - Must never happen.
PSN - Acceptable but unsure.
WiiWare - Fuck yes!
 
I wonder, is this game going to be considered "canon" in the classic MegaMan storyline?

"MegaMan & Bass" came out in 2000 (Japanese SNES, then ported to GBA and released in America) ... But that was more of a "side-story" than a sequel.

I wonder if "Duo" will make another appearance from MegaMan 8. And for that matter, imagine what Bass / Forte's sprite probably looks like.

I've been waiting for this for nearly a decade. I love nostalgia, but why the NES graphics? They could at least make it look like Megaman 7.

Does it matter? I love the graphics choice for MM9, its like a big "Screw You!" to most other games that sacrifice the good parts of games in order to have High definition graphics and instead opt for a crappy, cheesy story and mediocre gameplay *looks over at a certain FPS >_>*

To be perfectly honest though I don't think MM9 will do good on XBLA, The Xbox never had a Megaman game so I don't think most people will want it on Xbox, hence why I said Wii and PS3 for this game, Wii and PS3 users will definately get this game, hell, I'll buy it twice, one for Wii and one for PS3, never for Xbox.

Megaman 7 was amazing though, it was one of the best platformers in the SNES era.

Unfortunately I have never played Megaman 7 =(

I'm gonna try and get it eventually when I can get the other Megaman games. So far I only have 2 on NES and I'm gonna buy MM1 and 2 on VC soon.

It could be they wanted to announce it at E3, and people let the cat out of the bag early. I'll wait til at/after E3 to have a mod move again, but I'll change title again. I really don't see Capcom doing exclusivity, though who knows.
 
Wow About time - Might of actually kept Mega Man the Man in Blue running if these kinds of games came out rather than Mega Man X5 and all that other garbage :D

The X series was cool up until that little wanker Axl joined. He was the most retardedly useless character ever.
 
X Series went bad after X3....There hasn't been a great mega man game since the SNES :/

Best game in the X series, imo. Followed by the horrid X6, but still.
