Mega Man 9 - classic Mega Man, coming to WiiWare, Xbox Live and Playstation Network

Unfortunately I have never played Megaman 7 =(

I'm gonna try and get it eventually when I can get the other Megaman games. So far I only have 2 on NES and I'm gonna buy MM1 and 2 on VC soon.

You never played Mega Man 7?!!?

Fair enough, I never played Kingdom Hearts.

Sabia, I will eat you one day for sustenance. Just like how I eat all children-sized people as I hide under a bridge and wait for them to cross the river.

Gerry, you should just buy MegaMan Anniversary Collection for Gamecube, and play it on your Wii.

MegaMan 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and Power Battles & Power Fighters... (That's 10 MegaMan Games) Plus promotional artwork, Remixed tracks, and an Interview with Keiiji Inafune (creator of MegaMan)

MegaMan X Collection for Gamecube was nice too.

MegaMan X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, and MegaMan Battle & Chase (Classic "Blue Bomber" MegaMan in a Mario Kart Rip-Off that was released only in JPN and EUR territories for PSX, despite being advertised for release in USA. Considered to be one of the worst games in the series, its known for having frustratingly competitive A.I. and extremely stiff controls.)

I like X4 the most because it was the first time I had seen the updated sprites. And the Anime Cutscenes were nice too.

Megaman Anniversary Collection is NA Only as well as Megaman X Collections.

So I'd have the same problems I am currently having with my JP PS2 where I cannot convert the signal from NTSC to PAL.

Argh... Uhhh... Well...

You could probably have a Mod Chip put in your Wii to make it region free, and then you can play Wii & Gamecube Games from USA and JPN regions.

Just a stab in the dark, but that'd probably work.

How did you not like X5?
Best game in the X series, imo. Followed by the horrid X6, but still.

D: I had X5, and believe me. That was not a good game. X4 = perhaps -the- best Megaman X game of all. But I loved 1, 2, and 3 as well. After 4 it all just kinda went downhill. Hell I never even finished Command Mission. :/ And that was actually not too bad, at least to the part I had gotten to.

And to Devi, I have the Megaman Anniversary Collection for the Gamecube. I wish I had gotten the PS2 version as the GC control scheme is messed up (read: reversed A and B buttons). I never did get the X Collection, wonder if it's controls were equally fubar'd by the GC controller.

MegaMan X Collection was pretty decent. The instruction manual actually clipped out the entire Storyline texts from the original SNES / Sega Saturn / PSX Manuals for each respective game. And like "Anniversary Collection", it also has promo and concept art.

MegaMan Battle & Chase is a bitch to unlock. You have to successfully beat all 6 X games.

I beat 1, 2, 3, 4, & 6 just fine. But I'm stuck on 5 at the last level... Where you have to jump down and control the way you fall between the lasers that kill you in one hit (a la QuickMan's stage in MegaMan 2, except much longer) ... GOD, I hate that.

MegaMan Battle & Chase isn't even worth unlocking...

If I remember correctly (I used to play the EUR PAL Version for PSX on my PC) the tracks are really short, so to compensate, they make it last for like 5 laps... The controls are extremely stiff... It's hard to turn unless you jack parts from other racers like GutsMan, IceMan, and ShadowMan's cars...

Also the A.I. is really brutal and unforgiving.

X4 was the worst for me because the only thing that sticks out in my mind was FUCKING SPEEDBOAT LEVELLLL.

I watched that Preview and I can't stop thinking of the Bob and George comic lol

Just a personal gremlin gnawing at the back of my head, It just doesn't seem like a good choice, especially if the game is in 8bit, I don't think most Live users will like it, instead opting to spend their MS points on something mediocre.

Though I'd be even happier if I can be proven wrong.

Seems more like your rampant antifanboyism towards Microsoft is showing.

Maybe so, I've been trying to hold it back for a very long time to give it the benefit of the doubt, but as I grew to fear using my 360, my anger towards it is starting to show. I'm just surprised the bloody thing has never red ringed on me, though playing my RPGs on it could kill it.

I've never regretted owning a console before until I got my 360, I don't want to be afraid to use it.

Meh, w/e, I'll make a full rant about it soon and put it on youtube as a part of my upcoming reviews.

Back on subject, after watching the trailer for MM9 I was so totally happy, I'm definitely buying this for both my PS3 and Wii which I have online at the moment.

I have no doubt it'll sell well on WiiWare and PSN but Live Arcade seems like a very bad choice =/
While I do agree about the fact that your average 360 owner will go "hurhur 8-bit wut" and go pay for some other, more worthless DLC, there's no money to be lost here. The distribution is digital, and costs are probably subsidized merely by microsoft taking a cut. There won't be losses, not releasing it on as many platforms as possible would be the bad choice here.

That being said, any PS3 owner has no place talking about bad choices... :3

Oh, they're gonna be making more money then they would just releasing it on WiiWare that's for sure, so it's not a bad choice releasing it on Xbox Live as well as PSN. Plus it's only going to be $10 or so, new Mega Man game made in classic style I'm all down for, it'll sell well enough, on all 3 platforms.

Aren't Wii's region free?
