Anyone find out anything yet on Mercurial Kris?

as long as you are aren't hitting for zeros with it I don't see how it would suck for xp. Crazy TP gain.

It's an 8 damage dagger. If your using attack food or have a plethora of attack gear you might hit for some 1s. But let's say you are hitting for 1's, and getting TP. Yeah, its good.
However, when your /NIN one of your DE hits is a fully-modded attack of the offhand, so you will notice a fairly significant damage decrease between a higher damage offhand.
Peregrine said:To gain 100 tp in 30 seconds would be something worth looking into. However, fights don't generally last longer than a minute after a thief skillchains. Typically I only use one SA and one TA per fight anyway. I don't prime any more. My timers are usually hot when I disengage to pull again. Don't usually have time to do more than one sa/ta/ws or ta/ws+sa per fight. The thing's dead. I just don't know how much use you'd make of those 30 second intervals in a party worth fighting with. In a bad party where things drag on...maybe. In a low VT-spamming party, maybe there too with good timer management.
I guess I can get 100 tp in around 40 seconds if I really really tried to. The dagger might bust that into sub-30. But as far as that being a goal worth pursuing in something other than a static? It'd probably be like trying to thiefburn. Sure, looks good on paper, but you have to have a degree in it to really pull it off. There's not much of a demand to change the dynamics of a thief in a party that makes good use of a thief. Full-power sataws at the start of a fight. You probably can't beat that functionally. Changing the tactics to 30-s intervals will probably do little but make you a little more comfortable in fast-chaining low-vt fights.
Those annoy me anyway. Give me Uleguerand.
