Merit Point Addition

If other jobs had access to Dual Wield or Provoke without the proper sj, it'd make stuff way, way, way overpowered...Max MP Boost being merittable would be kindof crazy, as would Conserve MP...

Well, 75 IS the max level, so it could be that SE is never going to raise the cap, and are just making it so that you can still get great skills by getting lots of merits...
I just want to know what they're adding for RDM in this update. After level 45, its just the exact same thing again again and again in partys.

While that is true...if people get, like, Provoke, what's that leave us? A bunchof PLD/NINs using Provoke at endgame stuff (Granted this is technically possible with Reviler, it's also far from the same). Merittable Max MP Boost / Conserve MP would drastically drop the demand for mages (or maybe they intend to use this to counteract their rmagic resists implementing? bleh...)

Attack Bonus, Accuracy Bonus, Defense Bonus could all be somewhat useful for any job as far as I can see...but alot of JAs/Traits being accessable without the proper subjob can easily overpower stuff. But I guess we'll hafto see what SE does...

*edit* Oh, Also, Utsusemi: San would be good inbetween fights...but that'd only be if there was at least a semi-wait inbetween pulls, and since melees do nothing but cannon nowadays, yeah, it's useless.

I see so whms can come and steal Hymnus from us ;_;

Yeah, because brds have life so rough! :wink:

And no, rdm cannot ever get R2 or else they might as well take whms out of the game. The difference between R1 and R2 is huge, the difference between R2 and R3 is not so big a deal. A merit pt would take a rdm with R2 over a whm anytime. So unless you balance them getting R2 by whms getting an R4 that has 0 xp loss and no weakness timer, they can't get R2.

A rdm with r2 wouldn't get picked over a whm, if the pt needed whm specific spells like stona or w/e. In a bad party you would want the highest raise possible for that lvl range, in a good party its not as important because the exp is fast and the death rate is extremely low. I have pted with whm in merits, but in most cases its a wasted slot (like whm rdm or brd 4 melees). I do wonder what spells will be added because mages are quite powerful as it is. enlight/dark? aquaviel II?

Most needed whm spells like Erase and Stona can be gotten by a rdm subbing whm.

I dont know what lvl whm spells are, it was an example. Not all na spells can be used as whm sub.

Unless the info I just checked is wrong, stona is lvl 39.

R1- 25% is gained back

R2- 75% is gained back

R3- 90% is gained back

Correct? Very big difference between 75% and 90%. I don't care really if we get it, just like Reraise.

Its nice but not really neccesary and doesn't break jobs

Reviler's Helm
(Head) All Races
DEF: 21
Enchantment: Provoke
Lv. 71 WAR / RDM / PLD / DRK / BST / RNG
SAM / DRG / BLU

<30/30 0:30/[10:00, 0:30]>

No need to be able to get a Provoke ability. Alot of jobs can just get this and be about the same damn thing. Sorry WARs.

Yea, because we can all kill Vrtra for a new one after we burn the 30 charges. >_>

and 10 minute recast > 30 second recast for sure.

Isn't it 100 charges though? Thought I saw one in someone's bazaar and it had 100. I dunno ._.

Yeah, I was pretty sure it was 100 too.

If you run out of charges just start throwing imperial eggs.

I'm pretty sure it's more like 50/90/95.

Well according to this at lvl 75 the exp you lose after death is:

HP: 2,400
R1: 1,800
R2: 600
R3: 240
MogEnchant: 2,160

So according to that Khidir is correct. I dont know what the real numbers are and im saying this source is correct but it looks right to me.
