With this addition, dancers and scholars alike will be able to reach new heights by spending acquired merits points on upgrades such as reducing ability delay and enhancing the overall effect of their job-exclusive abilities. The group maximum ability increase and the individual maximum ability increase will be 10 and 5 respectively, in line with the other jobs.

Was hoping for more teasers ; ;

Am i the only one that looks at that picture and think, "why the hell did they put a galka there ?" >.>

On another note, hope you can lower the delay for Waltz recasts with abilities such as erase.

I think SE loves galka dancers. I think they're awesome too. :)

I'm glad to see that this update is going to give the Aht Urhgan jobs relic and give the Wings of the Goddess jobs some group 1 merits even if they're vague about it. I'm looking forward to it even though I don't have these jobs anywhere close to being able to benefit from the update yet.

I still don't understand how it took them well over two years to figure out how to add ToAU relic armor to the game then it ends up just being in dynamis.

Ugh more merits to get ><

so strategem recast? Vaguest shit ever

Doubt it will be Strategem recast. I'm guessing for SCH

Helix Magic Accuracy
Helix Magic Attack Bonus
Helix ability (don't remember the name <.<) recast
Light/Dark art MP conserve
Light/Dark art fast cast

And for DNC

Waltz recast
Step accuracy
Step potency
Samba potency
Samba duration

Good for them. Now (as always) SE needs to address the giant pink elephant in the middle of the room...Additional combat skills.

this is true but I'm kinda worried about it at the same time aren't merits used to shape the character into the job you like the most if they add more combat skills again it would encourage more melee job leveling then the userbase would(rightfully) want more max combat skill points...

Basically a push and pull situation, it doesn't hurt to add them but eventually the userbase would want more which would make me wonder why not just allow all to be capped but there's the concept of what merits are for(my own based off of looking at the limits placed by SE).

So true. Anyone with multiple 75 jobs can understand this. It sucks that you have to gimp one job to enhance another. I am not saying raise the cap just allow you to merit additional weapons.

Not exactly gimp per-say since these merits are technically all bonuses =P. (Combat Skills).

User base is growing bored with lack of merit possibilities...

You can only use so many combat merits at one time on any given job (with any real effectiveness), so it won't hurt if they allowed 8/8 on all offensive, and 4/4 on all defensive. Open up magic skills too, who cares? At this point, toss a bone. I'm chomping at the bit and there are plenty of people that have a lot more 75 jobs than I do that would also love more options and less restrictions. The time for "choosing a specific path" needs to end. People have chosen their path, time and time again, and have recreated themselves. If they wanna put a little extra effort into being the best they can be at each job, let them.

I dunno, imho I think that ultimately one character should only be able to completely "master" a few jobs, tops. I don't think a single character should be proficiently merited in every single one of the jobs in the game, that just logically doesn't make sense. I don't think the cap needs to be raised for weapon skill... yet, anyway.

I find certain merits dramatically help the player at many lower levels too, to allow one to max out every weapon and skill would take away much of any challenge in the game. Every player has their own direction they chose in merits, thats what makes it more fun. If everyone could have all weapon/skills merits maxed eventually we'd all be the same in this game with little or no variety.

At this point people would probably ask for ANOTHER raise so that they can increase their main job efficiency.

Yeah, well things get boring...Especially after 5 years. It's far from whining after that kind of time for a change like this. A change that only allows you to be the best you choose (you could also choose to still be a master of only one job if that's what floats your boat) to be at any given job. You can still only play one job at a time. Unless you multi-box box, which reduces your efficiency anyway.

Though some people like the fact that SE leaves you no choice but to "focus powah" into a very limited area of combat/magic skills, if players were allowed to cap everything out, it really wouldn't change how the game works. Players could still each bring their one character with a maximum of effective possibilities, and tackle the same things they already do. The thing that it would change for the better (besides allowing people the freedom to excel in whatever areas of weapons/magic they chose) is Linkshell members could vary up their duties more often. Less boredom! It's gewd. Not only for satisfying the player base, but also - ding ding ding - business.

Freedom. Options. And it wouldn't even break the game.
