Merits sometimes suck

Just got the third INT merit and it cost me 90,000 exp
..all for the sake of 3 more dmg
: (

Sad thing is, that it's not put me off. Full merit BLM someday
 
they are never a bad thing except for the enmity ones. (ie: you have a tank and a mage job, and you need -enmity and +enmity in different instances.)

yeah,it takes alot of xp > but hey, it all adds up:)
 
I just hate exping with parties :| cause people piss me off so much in this game.

I'm not touching -emnity, as it would knacker up any melee job I chose to play. Plenty of other stuff though. Also we should be skilled at judging emnity and more often or not the mob will be dead before it gets to us in exp pt's.

The thing about it all adding up is true and if you want to be seen as one of the premier BLM on the server, no stone must be left unturned. Unless it's Stoneaga II which is a spell I'll never buy : )

I have 1 merit total.... and I don't know an what I shall spend it O.o
 
I think someone worked out that a full merited job would be around 1.1 mill exp. Which is a hell a lot of exp.

It'll be interesting with the expansion what the merit bought spells etc might be. I'd imagine you need to be capped in certain areas first to get em. It would be nice if those that spend the hrs getting uber merited get added bonuses.
 
I'm going to work on my -enmity. The only jobs I plan to level to 75 is BLM, SMN, and SAM. I'm too fluffy and cute to tank. ^^
Perhaps I'll get a little more INT too.
 
I still haven't even touched any of the baseline stat boost via merits. They are the last on my list though. My priorities are working on capping out E-Skill and Lightning Potency and then building up a few points here or there to go towards my SMN when he get's to 75.

By then, ToAU will be out and I'll likely be faced with new merits that'll catch my eye.

So, about this time next year... I still won't have any points in INT+. /laugh

Sad that I've been a merit capable BLM for over a year and I'm so patheticly low on my merit enhanced abilities. Marato=Lazy bastard.
 
Just recently got my 4th point and wasted it on +Regen (...). Oh well..

It's no waste. I love my +regen merits. I have 4 regen upgrades atm (working on 5th) with whm relic body. That results in:
regen1 = 5->10hp tick 100% increase. 75 sec, 125 hp total -> 250
regen2 = 12->18hp tick 50% increase. 60 sec, 240-> 360hp
regen3 = 20->27 tick 35% increase. 60* sec, 400-> 540

With a few merit upgrades and relic body, your regens have nearly increased a full tier in potency.

*I believe this is the time for regen 3, but can't remember exactly. Might be shorter.
 
I love meriting on BRD because I get to put all my merits into BLM which is about 10 merits from being finished. Max mp, Elemental Magic, Lightning and Ice potency, 3 -Enmity, and 4 INT (1 to go!). Capping INT will put my Elvaan on par with a non merited Hume/Mithra :D

But hell yes it does suck. Even at 11k+ an hr parties, it still has taken months to do all that.

I can see your angle here... Soloing elements is too dull to do day after day, my try and get rdm brd or whm up as a second angle.
