Anyone know for sure (w examples) if abilities/traits meritted from other jobs carry over? IE, Do my Thunder Acc Merits from RDM lower Thunder IV resists on BLM?

Also, Do you get the ability from a sj? Like if you merit Berserk recast for war, would you have a shorter Berserk Recast on Nin/war? Seems to me that would be the easiest test.

Thanks, happy gaming.

Job specific merits don't carry over execpt on matching job without any lvl reducing cap in effect. Everything else does according to normal level requirements.

Kinda misleading on the level thing. Job merits only work on that job, and at 75. If you delevel, they're off until you get 75 back.

so that potentially means that they dont work in capped events correct?

Not really "potentially"... more like yes, guaranteed.

Well I tried to explain that with my comment about level reducing caps. I wasn't sure about delvls though.

No and No. :3

One thing that does work, is if let's say you're a THF, and you decide to merit sword skill so you can hit better with your Ridyl... That carries over into your other jos, whatever they may be.

Phraust had higher sword skill on his DRK than a SAM had GK skill, and the SAM was a level higher than him, so yeah, its kinda neat. >.>

No job specific merit carries over. If it isn't in the section that has the jobs name in it, it carries over.

That originally pissed me off when I first started playing PLD and I wanted to max merit provoke on WAR and use it on PLD.. oh well D:

I'd take WAR to 75 specifically to get Double Attack merits if it were possible. heh.
