All Shall Perish

im a pretty big fan of these guys when it comes to a metal/metalcore sound..amazing drummer...and the singer has an insane range..

i guess these guys are pretty good too...got alittle soft on their new cd

if you like metal you will like these guys..not bad for their first cd..

I don't know Darkest Hour very well, but I do have one song of theirs called Sound the Surrender and the guitar solo on that track is one of the coolest I've ever heard. It gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it, and yes I know how gay that sounds but I don't give a shit, it's fucking amazing.

I listened to the three tracks The Faceless have on their page too, I definately like em. Good find.

that is a great solo, actually their guitarist have had leaps and bounds between the last cd and the newest. i love the music..but the singer has kinda..taken it easy(vocals probley cant take it anymore) as for the faceless..i only see them getting better...i saw them when they came here...and it was a great show..

I like Rammstein. I'm going to Projekt Revolution this July with some friends, and that'll be fun - the band order is Street Drum Corps, Armor For Sleep, Hawthorne Heights, 10 Years, Atreyu, Ashes Divide, The Bravery, Chris Cornell, and Linkin Park closing out. I can't wait, though I have to admit aside from the final two (and the top touted ticket sellers for the event - the big names) I hadn't really heard of any of them. Most seem to be the stereotype for "emo" as in black hair over the eye and such, but I don't care. I just hope the music is good.

Favorite Metal Bands:
Internal Suffering, Decapitated, Dimmu Borgir, Vital Remains, Spawn of Posession, Children of Bodom, ArchEnemy, Angra, Burzum, Mayhem, Beheaded, Behemoth, Beneath the Massacre, Crypstosy. There's many others I like, or are pretty good, just not on my favorite list. Been away from the genre for a year or so, so I have no idea what's new.

The old metal bands I will never forget... Sepultura and Pantera!!

I'm not a huge fan of Metalcore, but this band is seriously good. The breakdowns and the drums are awesome. One of the only Metalcore bands I actually like. Worth listening to.

If any of you like Avenged Sevenfold, then check out Alexisonfire. Specifically, a song titled "This Could Be Anywhere In the World". Great stuff.

It won't be, I promise.

..ok, at least it wouldn't be to me. If you like alternative/emo/punk type stuff, then you might like it, but I wouldn't call any of those bands in that tour metal.

Alot of good bands listed there, I would have to say my all time favorites are Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, Manowar, Megadeth, Metallica, Cradle of Filth, Sepultura and Bolt Thrower. Honorable mention to Dimmu Borgir lol.

They're pretty awesome. Did you know they did a Britney Spears cover? I thought it was kinda funny. They do really wierd covers...never metal, they always take really gay shit and turn it into metal.

They actually have some pretty badass old school metal covers. Pretty hard to come by though. I know they've done at least 2 Iron Maiden covers, they played "Run to the Hills", before they turned to shit with the Hate Crew Deathroll album, here in Dallas. They have it recorded on a single of theirs, I'll have to dig it up the next time I go to my storage unit.

Excal you're welcome for introducing you to some of those bands. :-P

In case anyone is interested.

DRAGONFORCE PREPARES THE WORLD FOR AN ULTRA BEATDOWN
Posted Wednesday, 4 June 2008 - 19:09BST by Webmaster
Attention heavy metal warriors and guitar heroes across the land. DragonForce are pleased to announce Ultra Beatdown as the title of their forthcoming new album for Roadrunner Records, due in stores on August 26.

Ultra Beatdown is an epic, sweeping, grand collection of infectious guitar anthems that'll inspire all who listen to either pump their fists in the air or pick up a guitar, whether it be real or virtual. DragonForce's single from 2006's Inhuman Rampage, "Through The Fire and Flames," exploded on the public beyond the metal world thanks to its appearance on the massively popular guitar simulator game. The single has been RIAA certified Gold in the US.

The track listing for Ultra Beatdown is as follows:

1. Heroes of Our Time
2. The Fire Still Burns
3. Reasons to Live
4. Scars of Yesterday
5. Heartbreak Armageddon
6. The Last Journey Home
7. Inside the Winter Storm
8. The Warrior Inside

YES!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

, but I fucking HATE bands like 3 Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Foo Fighters, and that whole Atreyu subgenre of "metal". Seriously, wtf is up with that stuff?

Just wondering... when did Foo Fighters become metal? Breaking Benjamin I could maaaaybe see it, but only slightly. I never even thought of putting FF into a "metal" category.

But then again, people get WAY too caught up in trying to classify music. If it sounds good to me, I'll listen. I don't care wtf you decide to call it. Same thing with paying attention to the industry, if the music is good who cares what theyre doing. The whole recording industry is pretty fucked to begin with. Unless the band is supporting a factory in Malaysia that is putting kittens through a coffee grinder, I'm not going to boycott a group based on "selling out" or any of that shit.

But that aside, any of you guys listen to viking metal? A dude I used to work with talked about it, and I laughed at him, until I listened to it. It can be ridiculous at times, but there is some good stuff. Kiuas is the only band I've listened to extensively though.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Classifications should only be used to describe the music to others.

and if people have no clue about what type of band it is then its pointless..

"yeah korn, those dudes are freakin metal!!!1"

in regards too heavy music "metal" i like too break it down too pretty simple groups

there is Hardcore/metalcore, metal, death metal etc..and in korns case...crap

too many people think that if its got screaming in it, that its metal..no no sir...

edit: example 2..some people consider tool metal..when they are more or less progressive rock

Metal stopped being metal when the 80's ended... ; ;

I miss - The real Metallica (case in point), Iron Maiden, Megadeth, AC/DC, Motorhead, Pantera, BS w/Ozzy and glammers like Motley Crue, Gn'R, Poison, Skid Row, etc...

I wouldn't consider any of those bands metal either, but they get played on the metal stations and that's problem I have.

Tool is extremely metal, progressive metal, but metal all the same.
