He is going to be like that I think according to the trailer. Says that some disease or something is killing and aging his body faster than normal from that trailer or that old trailer from last year's E3.
Its because of two reasons.
1) Naomi injected him with Foxdie in MGS, which has been slowly causing his body to deteriorate over time. Any lesser man would've been dead by now.
2) Complicating the Foxdie syrum that had been injected into his bloodstream, Snake is also a Clone, meaning his cell structure isnt as naturally strong as someone who was -not- a genetic copy of someone else. Therefore, according to the game, his body would age more rapidly than a normal man. Snake is hardly over 50 (as he was nearing 38 in MGS, which took place circa 2004? Then we have MGS2, 2008 or 2010, cant remember which. This takes place somewhere in that neighborhood..give or take a few years..), but his life expectancy was never placed higher than the age of 60.
....And for my bonus question (name the game the metal gear unit ocaton uses to talk to Snake with is from), the answer is
Snatcher, a cyberpunk who-done-it game in the vein of
Ghost in the Shell. The game was big in Japan, it had many sequels and spinoffs; card games, anime, all that jazz. But it just never caught on in the US. Too bad, too, Hideo did well with that game. I believe it was on Sega CD. In addition to the Metal Gear reference (they even called his walking assistant 'Metal Gear'), they had a stripclub scene where it had numerous Konami characters sitting around having drinks. Included were the Contra dudes, Simon Belmont and Dracula, Sparkster, and several others.
But seriously though.
This game is gonna be awesome.
