Anyone else pick this up? I'm playing through the first game right now and I'll say, it does bring back a lot of good memories. I couldn't resist buying this set when it's only $30.

I still own all of the Metal Gears..

but I'll be first in line to pick up 4!

Just bought this. Can't wait to play MGS1. Man, I loved that game.

I picked up the the essential collection. I never owned 2 or 3, I just played friends copies. I figured for $30, it was well worth it.

Anyone else looking forward to MGO?

They've already had a Metal Gear Online for the PS2, but it didn't get enough people so they dropped the support pretty quick.

It wasn't that great of a game.

I won't be picking this up since I already own the games. The anthology would be more tempting if it included The Twin Snakes, since I never picked up that version on the Gamecube.

lolwut? MGO was quite popular, and was loads of fun. It's the reason why they're coming out with MGO2. The one that came out with subsistence was just to see how it was (1st metal gear to go online). I had a blast playing it til it's end. http://youtube.com/watch?v=3yXJQ3ccuHU&feature=related

Cannot wait for the real thing!

And yup, I bought the MGS Essential Collection and <3 it :D. My PS2 broke down a couple days ago though, and I have a 40GB PS3, so no FFXI, or MGS2 & MGS3 for me :(

I own MGS1 and Two, but I'll probably pick this up since I never did get around to buying three, and I'm a sucker for collectables like this. There's a DVD or something in it too isn't there?

While it was a lot of fun, it didn't even last a year. I think it was in the ball park of 8 months? Yep, it sure was popular.

I looked at the box and saw that MG3 had snake with an eyepatch. That means that it is Snake eater right? That was almost my least favorite metal gear game. It would have taken the cake, had Raiden not magically appeared in MG2.

That would have been nice since it had the updated graphics. Though, I am glad I don't have to constantly switch through all 4 controller ports again for psycho Mantis.. lol

Again, the subsistence version was more or less a BETA for the real thing

Still has no bearing on my point. It was a game that they wanted to make fully online, but they couldn't get enough people. So it became pretty much a beta.

I had a lot of fun with the game when i played it, but i spent way to long of a time waiting around because there just weren't enough people.

I'm almost mad that this came out, since it means now I have to buy a third version of all 3 games.

Just beat REX in MGS1. Goddamn, that had to be one of the more challenging final bosses for games of that era.

So glad I bought this pack, but I wish MGS3 Subsistence came with the second bonus disc too, I'm not worried about it though.

I'll be getting MGO when it comes out. (Along with MGS4 of course)

On the topic of MGO, I pre-ordered MGS4 and I have no idea how to register for the MGO beta, and I could swear a spot comes with a pre-order.

Am I missing something, or is Konami keeping a big list of pre-orders for when the beta goes live?

When you preorder it, where ever you preordered it from should give you a DVD that has the story of all the snakes and how all the characters are related to each other, and then a code that you put in the PSN store that lets you get the beta.

My store just got them in today.
