Thing you seem to be forgetting is we/I (Think Chasym and I are the only people who admitted to disliking the series after PS1's) didn't want it ANYTIME. Just argued the likelyhood of a port. On the PS2 I played all of them despite not caring, too much, for them because of how good the first one was. Kind of like Resident Evil Nemises. It's not good but you play it anyway. DMC, I never liked (still don't/wont probably), but it was a damn good (as in popular) Sony staple product so it's a good point to work with. I do realize though when you guys get backed into the corner you start this shit though, get some new material.
Being that Konami is the publisher, they could possibly ignore him, to a degree. However, being that it's a highly popular, money-making series, who knows. Depends on the consequences, if any, of ignoring him.
The reality is that if you think Konami can force him to develop a port he doesn't want to make by being the publisher when he's his own development company, then you don't know shit and should probably stop arguing about the industry. If there's a port, it's because HE decided HE wanted to make the game. Publishers can only prevent you from making a port, based on exclusivity contract, they can't make you port the game.
By the way Baja, I told you that direct denials of a port wouldn't even slow down the rumors, because you've got geniuses like Strid here who think they know more than the guy who's making the game.
He denied he'd put it on a last gen disc. Since we can pretty confidentially say there won't be HD-DVD games we can make assumptions based on that.
Thanks for stalking my posts looking for a reason to bash something, but nowhere did I say blu-ray couldn't be hacked. I concluded from Tagrineth finding Resistance's size via a warez site that means it'd been hacked.
I simply said that I am not seeing much clamor over any PS3 exclusives. PS3 bashers want to say, "These exclusives all suck... but we want ports!!!" If you're not going to admit you'd shell out 60 bucks for the game, shut the fuck up and quit bitching about your lack of port. I'd pay 60 for Metal Gear Solid 4. I'm the customer they need to serve, not people like Strid and Chasym who steal their games. Their opinions are irrelevant to developers.

Fact: Resistance and Motorstorm are pretty yawn.
Fact: Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, and Final Fantasy have proved to be great games.
Fact: PS3 as it is is mucked up by ports and garbage titles no one wants to play. Sans our hardcore fanboys, Firestreak and Marajade.
Hypothesis: People would want to play MGS4, DMC4, and FF13 because they come from established franchises. They could be shitty. They could be great. No one can tell until they come out.
Fact: Those with an Xbox 360 would rather have those future releases as multi-platform, so they don't have to shell out $500-$600 + $60 per title.

There are 2 groups that have to take the PS3 exclusives into accounts and each with a very different lens.
Xbox 360 owners.
Everyone else who will one day buy a next gen console(psst: these people are in the majority).
For the first group, 360 owners, they have to weigh the tangible benefits of picking up a PS3: Exclusives, features, system hardware, blu-ray - towards if they want to make the purchase at all.
Fact: The people with a 360 and no PS3 have been downplaying Metal Gear Solid 4 - PERIOD. They have been saying the game sucks and they wouldn't buy it if it did come out. The surge of hate somehow seems to occur whenever another person says they aren't making a 360 port.
The people without a 360 have a much different lens to view Metal Gear Solid 4 through. To them PS3 isn't 600 dollars, it's 130 more than Xbox 360 that doesn't have it. This is not to say Xbox 360 doesn't have its own exclusives, but this is a question of how to rate Metal Gear Solid.
The reality is, I say Metal Gear Solid is going to be a good game, that I'm happy with my system, that when the creator of the game says no port.. there's no port, and that makes me a fanboy. But it's fine to bash all the PS3 exclusives and the console and not be labeled one yourself?

since when do i steal my games, i have paid for EVERY game that i own. I download games if they make it online early or if im not too sure if its worth the buy and test it out, if its good i buy it, if its not i dont play it again.
so i guess ill pull one out of your book here.
the only games missing from that pic for my xbox are crackdown and gears of war as i have those loaned out right now.
my ps2 and ps1 collection is on another shelf,but i currently have all those discs stored on an HDloader in my ps2 so i dont have to use the discs ever again.
i never said i would buy MGS4, but that doesnt exclude me from talking about the possibilities of a port.
I do not like the MGS series, never said i did. its just not a game i ever got into, i never played any of them past the solid snake one.
as for DMC, ive always loved that series. I played it since the day the original came out, and am very happy with the multi platform release, otherwise i would not have got a chance to play it.

Alright my mistake. The way you worded it, saying you'd download it, but not saying, "to see if it was worth buying," or adding any sentiment that you'd pay for it if you liked it, seemed like you were saying you had no intention of buying if it was good. Generally people don't out and buy a game they had no qualms about pirating.
