MGS4 on 360 1st

Sorry ant. That doesnt make sense to me. PC sells more, but no reason to bring it up? If you want Top graphics you go there. If you want endless multiplayer with map editor, mods and whatnot you go there. The most popular games ever are on PC. Compare any games sales to WoW. Pc gaming was on a decline. With PS3 sucking. 360s hardware sucking. MS putting work into PC gaming, Its coming back. And not to mention the most impressive looking game ever, Crysis. PC is very much a worthy mention in anything involving games.

PCs sell more, sure, but PC gaming is a very small market compared to console gaming. It's pretty much a well-known fact and there's no reason to even bring it up, let alone debate it.

LOL

I bet more there are more people who play counter-strike alone than people who own a next-gen console. PC Gaming is fucking huge man, i dont know what youre talking about.

Alright, I'll just go by what I'm taught in school while you keep believing stupid stuff like that. I mean, how could I possibly believe teachers from the gaming industry over some random person online?

I'm not arguing which platform has better graphics/whatever. That's obviously a PC. But console gaming has and always will be the number one platform for gaming. If you think Counter Strike Source sells are actually more than console Grand Theft Auto (insert any part), Final Fantasy, or Halo (non PC) sells you're sadly mistaken. And that's just three games off of the top of my head.

PC gaming is geared for the more hardcore gamer which makes up the smallest percentage of gamers. In contrast, the Wii is aimed for the extremely casual crowd. I cannot honestly believe I had to spell out something that well-known to anybody.

Ok then, how about you give us some sources on how console gaming blows PC gaming out of the water... and no "My teacher said so" doesnt count. My teacher said walmart sucks, doesn't make it true. I just cant see console gaming being bigger than pc, MAYBE in the states, but not world wide.

Ant dont do it man.. I respect your opinions.. Dont do it. The number one platform is PC. PC is not for hardcore gamers. A good percent of the good games ARE for Hard core gamers. Ant, Moms and others at work playing simple games on PC are THE most populated game section there is period. There are more people playing cards and bs games on PC then any other game you can throw numbers out about. And that is casual gamer. I know what you are saying, the games you like. And the games big devs make are more popular on console making you talk like this. And the things you work on at school have nothing to do with the casual gamer on pc, which is why you wouldnt even mention it lol. This whole argument is about if PC should be considered when talking about a single game spread to multiple platforms. How can you not mention PC.

PC is said to be a larger market because almost everyone owns a computer. But PC gaming, as far as the "best games" is still behind PC gaming in every area except for RTS

I'd say FPS' as well. Not all action games and shooters, though. Strictly those in the first person perspective.

Sure, Consoles get those occasional ultra hit FPS games, but other than those, they usually fly under the radar. Where as PC is a safe bet to launch a FPS game on.

But anyway, if you're going to ignore PC as a gaming platform, you might as well ignore the PS3 as well. I can guarantee you there are more PC gamers than there are people who currently own a PS3.

I agree, You are right about major titles. PC is the king of casual tho by a land slide. As you said it has to do with so many people have a PC.

While the MGS4 360 rumor has yet to come true, a reliable tipster tells us that Official Xbox Magazine has taken it upon themselves to toss another log on the fire. In the most recent Rumor Mole section, OXM declares that a "bankable source" told them that Metal Gear Solid 4 is definitely coming to Xbox 360. The game is reportedly being ported by a separate team -- which isn't headed by Hideo Kojima -- and should ship "a few months" after the PS3 version.
caught this today. OXM generally doesnt write anything even in the rumor mill unless its from a reliable source.
Still sayin it will happen if it happens since like i said, you cant take their word for "exclusive" easily anymore after the misrepresentation of the word at E3

You're the one who seems to be crying over MGS4 being exclusive. Searching the internet for any website that'll tell you they think it'll get ported after Phil Harrison, Peter Moore and Hideo Kojima all confirmed it wasn't coming to 360.

Every damn rumor you come here and post how you think it's going to happen, it's kind of pathetic.

im interested in whats going on for my system, this thread is here about that topic and surprise is filled with topics relating to it.
i visit ONE site at least once a day related to xbox, and thats xbox-scene.com which all the news related to xbox comes through there eventually.
they said haze and UT3 were exclusive too at E3, not timed exclusive, but just the words Ps3 exclusive.
i didnt say i think its going to happen.
i said if it happens, it happens.
i dont care, carry your blatant fanboyism elsewhere. If i wanna post this in a thread related to it, there aint shit you can do about it.

You're allowed to post these bogus news stories and I'm allowed to give my opinion on them, even if it doesn't fit in line with the reaction of cautious enthusiasm I'm sure you're hoping for.

My opinion is that it's amazing how low quality the expectations we have for all things gaming news related. For example there was the 360 RROD problem since 2005, with millions of units dying and none of the big sites did any actual investigation. The only way you even heard about it was hundreds and hundreds of blogs and occasional news stories where some company like EA disclosed their personal fail rates. Nobody pressed Microsoft on the issue.

Instead they post endless rumors based on fictitious insiders. They are essentially throwing darts blindfolded. The premise here is that if they get lucky and are right, they gain credibility and if they are wrong they never talk about it again. The clincher here is that as long as the rumors are something people want to hear, they read the article and pass along the article to all their friends.

No other group of people would tolerate such low quality news. Nothing about them really qualifies as actual journalism, they appear to be more interested in getting in good with gaming companies so they can show trailers than any sort of actual investigations.

So if you want to reference some rumor from some xbox blog as if it meant anything, go ahead, but I've got the right to make my opinion known on it. There are just as many stupid sites saying the same shit that slants rumors in PS3's favor and I don't pick what I want to hear and assume there's any credibility.

The only things these sites are good for is relaying to us official announcements and giving us reviews that seem highly bias depending on which console they prefer most.

My only gripe about a PS3 Gears would be the controls. Yeah, the controllers have the same amount of buttons, but the 360 controller is just a more comfortable feel with the bindings compared to how it would be mirrored on the PS3 controller.

The position of the left analog stick, the design of the D-Pad(remember, this chooses your weapons,) and the trigger shaped L and R 2 buttons. It just works so well, that anything else would just be inferior.

Playing a FPS on a PS style controller just feels unnatural to me. It's the left analog position that just kills me. The two analogs are just too close together, imo, for a smooth feel. I do however, prefer this layout for most other games. For some reason aiming with tight quarters wigs me out, I like my space. The way I see it, the Xbox system/controller is the answer to people who suck with keyboard and mouse. Not everyone who opts to play the Xbox FPS games suck with keys and mouse, but I know I do. I failed at most all FPS games until I picked them up with a Xbox controller. While I'm sure if Gears was on the PS3 instead of 360 it would feel natural for owners. It just seems to flow that without missing a beat with the Xbox controller... I can use the same thumb I aim with to change weapons, index finger to cover, roll, etc. without having to stop any movement what-so-ever at any point. They'd definatly have to change one of the trigger buttons to change weapons, leaving the D-pad virtually useless, but then you have the problem of loosing other necessary action/movement buttons.

All the buttons on the 360 and PS controller are in the same place, except the left analog and Dpad are switched

The 360 triggers are narrower and the Guide Button is between Start/Select instead of below it.

In dual analog games, i much prefer to have both sticks in the same position relative on the controller.

Which was noted as makin' the big difference. We're well aware of the button layout.

Well, the difference with the D-Pad comes from that 360s D-Pad is more like a mock analog stick than 4 individually seperated buttons.
