Michael Crichton Dead...

That sucks =/

He was a great writer.

That's a damn shame. Jurassic Park is one of my favorite reads. I still tear up when they first happen upon the brachiosaurs in the movie.

May he rest peacefully.

I skipped his last few books -- Airframe was only decent, and his screed against global warming put me off -- but I really liked Jurassic Park, Timeline, and Congo. His movies were pretty good, and I know there are plenty of people still watching E.R..

And of course, we owe him for giving us mechanical spiders chasing Tom Selleck in Runaway. The attack on the convoy was one of my favorite chase scenes when I was a kid, right up there with the attack on Hoth in Empire Strikes Back. I'd probably be horrified to watch it now.

One of my favorite authors, easily. I had no idea of his condition. RIP Michael. I'll be reading "Sphere" (my favorite Crichton book) this week in honor :)

Eaters of the Dead was my favorite Micheal Chrichton book, followed closely by The Great Train Robbery. His death is a tragedy. All of his subjects were relatively deep, and you could often learn something whilst being entertained. Each one had a strong backing in science and history.

Jurassic Park is definitely one of my all time favorites. Also, I was forced to read The Andromeda Strain in High School. I wasn't happy about it at the time, but once I got into it, it was actually a pretty good read as well. R.I.P. Mr. Crichton.
