I do not know how to use the multi quote thing right, so I am sorry ahead of time. Paraphrasing some points, then responding.
We are about to enter (we did the whole "if you are ready, hug the wall" but one person forgot their permit(eh, but no biggie), so they ask Mioraem (on blm) to d2 them. nothing happens. we poke him and sent one <call>, still nothing, they are just autorunning against the wall. We were supposed to be ready, so no one should be AFK.
This statement is so very true. If you are about to enter no one should be afk.
Normally even if there is a RL emergency people tell their members AFK. My then two year old split his chin open on the stairs in the middle of sky. I was one of the few healers up there. I put AFK kid bleeding and went to help him. Amazingly the whole LS understood and adjusted. We players tend to understand that Real world comes first. FYI he had three stitches and has a scar to remember it from.
About 5 mins later Mio stops auto running and says "I have headphones on try avoid doing calls cause it fucking hurts". So he heard us 5 mins ago but kept going AFK? The person who forgot the permit was almost back, then suddenly we got entered. So we are one member short and with low numbers, each job is important...We were all like wtf, why did you enter us.. and no reply.
IF you have headphones on and the volume up that high, it is your own fault it hurts. It really sounds like this player was ignoring the team. I do find it nice to put up "Watch out I am about to use a call.", just so players with headphones can be prepared.
It will only let you enter "IF" you have six. So you were not low on people. You did not meantion this other persons job, so it is hard to judge if this effected the run a lot, or if the team could have adjusted. Most zones have some NM's you could trio for 35's. So unless this player was your only healer, <most take in a rdm and whm> or your main tank <most like monk as tanks>, there would have been no reason for it to be a waste of tags.
In the salvage shell I run with, only the run leader even touches the enter. So I have to assume that the enter was done on purpose. There was no reason for anyone who was not leading the run to even have it targeted. Sorry have to do this... lolblm.....They need a lot more gear unlocked to be worth having in. A rdm semi unlocked can take off about 20% off a boss with chainspell Blizzard 3. Only monster I can think of that a blm might be better for is QQA. If you have good DD you do not even need the blm for that. Still it is your team not mine, so what ever works for you is important. After all there are many different ways to win Salvage.
Overall not enough to say do not do things with him, but enough that I can understand warning others about his actions. I hope he learns from this and betters himself.
On a side note,
IF you DC while entering salvage you are not counted as in, and can not to my knowlegde enter even if they have not engaged a monster. This is more like assault. Either you are there or you are not. So waiting would only have lost the team 9 minutes and still left you without the player who was left behind. In salvage 9 minutes is the difference between all NM's and boss, or just having NM's, or having to skip half the NM's to do the boss. If you are doing ramparts you have lost time to pop three. Salvage is one of those events where even one minute means the difference between what you can try for, and if you will win.
If someone has managed to enter salvage after their teammates have gone in, please post some proof. It would be very good to know if one actually can.
