I'm grumbling at the HBP with the bases loaded that wasn't called....
Bases juiced, no outs and we dont fucking score... although, as osy said, had that ump not been a blind fuck, and that hit would have been a double, we would have gotten atleast a run that inning and could have kept the game going. Fuckin A...
So... Year of the ump continued as expected...

Wait, are you saying Cabrera should have been out with Aybar a mile off the bag?
Yeah, that was a spanking. I turned it on after the Phillies first 5 batters, and first 4 runs...
Well on that play i dont know what to say honestly.. The ump was right technically but you dont want to put a League Championship game in the hands of a call like that. Add to it that call is never called...
Then you have just an inning later i believe, maybe the 12th? Jeter grounds out to the short stop. The ball was hit so slow you just knew Jeter was going to beat it out.. In real time he looked safe by alot. They call him out. The replay shows he was clearly safe by ALOT. That would have left first and third with one out. Its just embarrassing how they miss clear cut calls right in their face.
Again i dont think its to the level of say cheating.. But these umps are clearly interfering with the game. I mean imagine the game was decided on that call at second with Aybar... AsshatSeilig would have needed to make a statement lol.
Ah, ok, I see what you mean. Although in that case, you have to admit that Aybar was at least 8 inches away from 2nd base, and neighborhood play or not, it was the right call.
But you're right about Jeter's out. And now that you mention it, and correct me if I'm mistaken, I think that something similar happened to the Angels earlier in the game.
I agree he was off the bag at second. Add to that he had plenty of time on that play to hit the bag, step forward and throw with no danger of being taken out. At least ghost tag near the bag or something.. He even backed up off second to make the throw to first using second base as a defense against a slide... Taking him even further from the bag. Aybar is just a stupid player in the same sense as Robinson Cano. With that all said i still think its completely crazy to have the balance of an ALCS game hang on that call.
I remember the Jeter play. The play that went against the Angels you are talking about wouldnt happen to be Teixeira's foot at first? Every time an Angel player runs to first they scream safe because Tex's foot comes off the bag... It comes off after he catches the ball with it on the bag lol.. Its an out.
I agree for sure the umps are terrible on both sides though, hell both league championships even.
Oh no, it wasn't about Tex. That man's a damn contortionist with a magnet in his foot lol. It was just a play where the ball got there a little after the runner but he was out. Like I said before, I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember a watching the call with my dad and we both felt that he was safe by a step. It wasn't a make or break play, and honestly I remember discussing the play more than the play itself lol.
