Didnt see any recent MLB threads so making this one, just wanted to say....

Twins baby woo woo.

Awesome game for the twins. Close one for detroit. I thought it was over when we hit that triple in the 11th.

What a terrible colapse by Detroit. Both teams made plenty of physical and metal errors yesterday but the Tigers should be embarrassed. The game turned out to be a classic anyways and i am kinda happy for the Twins.

Also this solidifies Joe Mauer's MVP. As a Yankee fan sure i would have loved for Teixeira or Jeter to win the thing.. Joe Mauer deserves it though with arguably the greatest offensive year for a catcher in the history of the game. Sad thing is if the Twins didnt make the playoffs there was no way to be assured Mauer would win the thing... The writers with these votes are pretty stupid as we saw last year with Pedroia.

I will be watching all day.

I'm grumbling at the HBP with the bases loaded that wasn't called....

Yeah i saw that also.. I was guessing at the time that millions at home saw it as well lol... That for sure was a terrible break for the Tigers. I think it was Inge, but i saw the ball clearly hit his jersey and he reacted instantly. The games outcome may have ended up the same but it would have been the Twins trying to come from behind again had that call been made properly.

A Twin fan could argue that even though Castilla is RETARTED for hesitating on the tag up.. He still may have been safe lol.

Seriously the MLB needs to hire new umps. I cant really say its a situation like the NBA where every bad call you can scream the ref is paid off. I just think the umps in MLB are plain old screwing up.

So we are only through 3 innings of baseball in Philly and there are two terrible calls against the Rockies.

For one Torrealba was safe on third when he tagged up...

And my god Cliff Lee was out by a FULL STEP at second base on the pick off. Tulowitski clearly hit his front leg and then his crotch.

The first case we dont know what the outcome would have been. The second case eventually didnt matter anyways. I just cant stand to watch the umps ruin the game. They did it last night lol... they have done it all year.

The year of the ump continues.

there should be a rule in baseball that if youre up by 3 games with 4 to play and need a 1 game playof you get told to GTFO!!!

GO YANKS

You're just still mad from 06......

Year of the ump continues.

Bases juiced, no outs and we dont fucking score... although, as osy said, had that ump not been a blind fuck, and that hit would have been a double, we would have gotten atleast a run that inning and could have kept the game going. Fuckin A...

Yeah there were several calls missed in that game. Terrible ump behind the plate as well.

Game one of the Angels series was far worse though.. Terrrrrrrrible umps.

EDIT: I wanted to add.. I guess a Twins fan wouldnt have liked that game much. Game 163 is probably your pride and joy.

As a Yankee fan last night was one of the best games i have watched in a long while. And Arod... My goodness he is reborn.

So... Year of the ump continued as expected...

Also..

How about Neo-Arod? His power level is over 10,000!

Phils 11 Dodgers 0 -- complete and utter shutout <3

Wait, are you saying Cabrera should have been out with Aybar a mile off the bag?

Yeah, that was a spanking. I turned it on after the Phillies first 5 batters, and first 4 runs...

Well on that play i dont know what to say honestly.. The ump was right technically but you dont want to put a League Championship game in the hands of a call like that. Add to it that call is never called...

Then you have just an inning later i believe, maybe the 12th? Jeter grounds out to the short stop. The ball was hit so slow you just knew Jeter was going to beat it out.. In real time he looked safe by alot. They call him out. The replay shows he was clearly safe by ALOT. That would have left first and third with one out. Its just embarrassing how they miss clear cut calls right in their face.

Again i dont think its to the level of say cheating.. But these umps are clearly interfering with the game. I mean imagine the game was decided on that call at second with Aybar... AsshatSeilig would have needed to make a statement lol.

Ah, ok, I see what you mean. Although in that case, you have to admit that Aybar was at least 8 inches away from 2nd base, and neighborhood play or not, it was the right call.

But you're right about Jeter's out. And now that you mention it, and correct me if I'm mistaken, I think that something similar happened to the Angels earlier in the game.

I agree he was off the bag at second. Add to that he had plenty of time on that play to hit the bag, step forward and throw with no danger of being taken out. At least ghost tag near the bag or something.. He even backed up off second to make the throw to first using second base as a defense against a slide... Taking him even further from the bag. Aybar is just a stupid player in the same sense as Robinson Cano. With that all said i still think its completely crazy to have the balance of an ALCS game hang on that call.

I remember the Jeter play. The play that went against the Angels you are talking about wouldnt happen to be Teixeira's foot at first? Every time an Angel player runs to first they scream safe because Tex's foot comes off the bag... It comes off after he catches the ball with it on the bag lol.. Its an out.

I agree for sure the umps are terrible on both sides though, hell both league championships even.

Oh no, it wasn't about Tex. That man's a damn contortionist with a magnet in his foot lol. It was just a play where the ball got there a little after the runner but he was out. Like I said before, I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember a watching the call with my dad and we both felt that he was safe by a step. It wasn't a make or break play, and honestly I remember discussing the play more than the play itself lol.

I cant really remember all of these errors by umps so far but trust me i believe you lol.

I am really getting sick of the Jeter love fest....
