did a search for this and couldnt find nothing from today to whenever they were released. but wondering for some clarification. last thing i have to merit on mnk :/

formless strikes

obvously nice to have at least one merit in, but what dose additional merits do by "increaseing it's effect"... just, more dmg? lol

invigorate

think i will 3/3 this, but my question is can the spell be cast on you while this is active and/or will it write over?

mantra
when can this be put to good use?

penance
same as above. is it noticable in ballista? is it noticeable on wyrms?

Regen writes over invigorate's effect, other than that it's awesome.

Formless is kinda meh, no one will let you melee on a big mob where it would actually be useful so not really useful. The only time I've ever really seen it used is in the limbus with different resistances on each floor.

Mantra I honestly see no use for at all. Maybe it'll boost your melee's hp for spirits within or give your tanks a leg up for a few minutes but honestly it looks useless.

Penance is nice, the TP down effect is very useful when fighting mobs with annoying TP moves. 3 monks fully merited would leave the TP down status on full time.

I'm doing 3 invigorate, maybe 1 formless until I can find vampiric claws, and probably 2 penance for merits/soloing.

looking at doing 1 formless, 3 penance, 2 mantra.... a few ls mates tested hte tp down effect in ballista and aparently it's rather painful to the recipient

i got formless strikes mainly for dynamis reasons.

Why? The only things that resist melee damage are the stones, but everyone just nukes those down anyways since the TP movies are a bitch.

think invincible.

I've heard a lot of HNMLS's want all their MNKs to have 3/3 Penance for Chi rotation so that might be a good start if you want to do things beyond meriting with your MNK, otherwise none of the tier 2 merits really struck me as useful.

Formless I'd probably put 1 in as an Invincible counter for Dynamis/Jailer of Temperance and other things like that and 2 into Invigorate for soloing/duoing , etc.

Ah, it's more of an inconvenience than anything, but I can see using formless strikes for that.

formless strikes also works wonders on salvage flans when you have no other choice

Temperance is immune to magic damage, so naturally he will resist it, since formless strike turns your fist into magic damage.
Works well on Jailer of Fortitude though, and it's nice for invincible and elementals.
