morrigan's robe on quetz.

It's a waste of time to use a 2-hour ability to do what a 5-minute ability can do, is it not?

No i don't see why it's a waste ? You have a 2H, might as well use it, no ? Also what if no rng pop in your shell ?

So you saying this should go to blu because rdm get dalmatica? You kidding right. That would be like saying thf should get strider boots over rng, because rng can wear crimson. With this body a rdm would not ever have to place anything else in that slot (except af2 body for shadows and af+1 for resting.) Trading 2 int/mnd for 1 tic is a very reasonable loss. Your reply would be that we can switch body but guess what so can blu to royal cloak; and switching out you will be lossing a tic or 2 and with rdm we gear swap alot.

why would a rdm need str acc and atk, because when shadow tanking most of the slots are filled with haste and enm+ gear, and /war would be alot of phy down gear along with enm+ gear. If you are able to hit mob you will generate better longer hate, and while 8str and 5acc/atk won't do much, it is still the best tank/solo/exp/hnm body a rdm can wear. Blu can not say they can replace all there bodys with this 1 piece rdm can. Leaving the dalmatica for the blm and brds.

Actually, taking into consideration that RDMs would give up some benefits of having multiple pieces to swap in, BLU CAN replace all, while giving up pretty much what RDM would give up (from reading these posts anyway, I am a RDM noob). Uzor and I are in disagreement on which is a better TP piece, this or Homam, showing how close both pieces are, and like Uzor stated, this piece is also comparable to AF for spells. Also, if I wasn't lvlng SMN, after I got this piece I could sell my Vermy, lol. The only pieces I've left out is what, SH and AJ? Sacrificing 5acc from the former, maybe 5att from the latter ( as it was stated earlier, +8STR does translate into +4att). Tell me again what pieces we can't replace with this, in the same way RDM could.

by the time my linkshell kills the last extension in the zone, we typically have 2 hours leftover, or more if we burn through things ahead of our usual pace.

if we were to use chainspell to kill the stone from the start, it for sure wouldn't be ready by the time we went for DL. either way, we don't really bother with the whole kill first extension and run strategy as there isn't any point for us. we'd come back to farm the monsters anyway.

still, if we were not farming DL, i'd have a rng do it regardless. i don't think anyone can argue it really, it's clearly obvious that a rng 5 minute ability is more efficient and a better way to kill the stone than a 2 hour one. masking your ignorance of game knowledge with the excuse that they do the same thing is really a lot worse than just admitting one's clearly better than the other.

It's a waste of time to use a 2-hour ability to do what a 5-minute ability can do, is it not?
That would work if we actually had any RNG's in the shell. As it is now, we only have RDMes and BLMes, and I'd rather not get the BLMes weakened.

Ok another ppl that doesnt know what rdm's 2H is

Chainspell RAise ? LOL no comment. You guys are pretty inventive as for how rdm's 2H can be used .. What's next ? Chainspell Head butt o;O ?

You really have no idea how Dynamis works in that case. Little bitches demanding R3 are what really slow things down and cut farming time.

Any LS understands the importance of time management. Especially when farming, people want to take advantage of that time. If by chance WHM's don't notice a NIN and forget Barfira, quite a lot of people can die from Mijin Gakure. When this happens during farming, usually the best thing to do is get everyone up and unweakened ASAP.

Here's a big lol to those of you who whine and moan when asked to accept R1.

Whoever bitches about getting a 1 after they upped it to 50% EXP return is a pussy, or a cheapskate and doesn't buy Reraise Gorgets or Hairpins.

So is there any particular reason you like to wear Chasuble everywhere if you're so wonderfully pimped out? I mean, I find it hard to believe this claim when a level 58 AF-wearing RDM, or a level 72 el-cheapo-Errant-wearing RDM (between those two body pieces, that would be most RDMs on the server) has a better body piece than you do.
because I like the way it looks mostly, and fact I use it on high mobs if nuking and on dark spells. (plus I hate the way errant body looks.) I use the AF+1 body fyi and bet you don't see many rdm who have a altruistic cape now do ya. Have all gear from sky yegit hands, nashira legs, tamas ring, sea earring, fast cast earring, justice sword, joyeuse, +1 af hat and body. Heck I bet i take more pride in my gear then you do.

"One Shot" ? As rdm you 3 shot them.

Waste of time ? Takes 3 secons to kill, 1 second per Nuke.

Actually, apart from Chainspell Stun, Chainspell Raise is probably the single most important use of Chainspell. It can completely turn the direction of a fight that's getting out of control.

Oh ok, so you just have no fashion sense for town gear, carry on.

And uh ... this isn't Alla so I'm not inclined to list off gear to you, but it's a bit presumptuous to make any assumptions about how much pride I take in my gear.

(Not to mention that attacking the arguer instead of the argument is a pretty well-known recourse for those who wouldn't fare well attacking the argument. And I'm sure it was quite coincidental that you didn't reply to the rest of my post. EDIT: If you're clever though, I left you an opening for a good comeback to this, in this post.)

Incidentally, some friends of mine were wondering what "sea earring" was. Novio/Novia? Something from Apocalypse Nigh? Brutal maybe? (Not Loquacious, that would be "fast cast earring".)

ha I have better gear then 90% of rdms only things im missing are dalmatica, af2 hat(been trying for 2 years dam thing just wont drop), and crimson mail, and of course salvage items with those my gear will be complete.

So basicly you are missing the only hard items to get for rdm like most of the RDMs on this server? Funny part is I wasn't commenting on your gear but the way you would use it.

EDIT: I just read your post on the gear you do have and nothing is really that special limbus is very easy and the items aren't that hard to get. Sea items really aren't that rare (unless sea earring is novio) not sure what sea earring actually is. Sky gear is a joke, the cape is the only some what rare item that you have.

magnetic earring, and I'm not attacking anyone I just take offense that you place me in category of someone who don't take pride in there gear.

As for not replying rest the thread if you want me to I will

Ok first off the line that dalmatica are more common then Morrigans that is true now because dalmaticas are rather old been out a long time, but a year ago dalmatica we're pretty rare. Give it time these will be well known to and might be even more popular because unlike kings which pop every 3-8 days[alot time at odd time of the day. You can do salvage every day (but most likely 2-3 a week) yes the drops in salvage are rare, yet so is A. body Abj. Plus you can do salvage on your time unlike nigh and aspid where you have to claim over 300 other people(mainly at faf) over might be bots. Just have a chance of it being hq king and even if claim and kill small chance of it being dalmatica. So that statement that dalmatica are easier to get is false.

Dalmatica as a whole for rdm is crap(except the 1 tic refresh) because a rdm should never have more mp then hp. Yes we healers, but unlike whm swho need a large amount of mp, a rdm does not because of convert, which also make it so we normally dont have to rest. this is just as bad as the rdm not nuking post. I would rather stack up on mnd and refresh gear to make my cure actually matter then stack up on unneeded mp. For ever 1 mnd=5 healing magic skill= 1 hp added to cure. This is easily test by using crimson pants and cast cure 4, then use af pants and cast cure 4, then use zenith pants and cast cure 4.(same go for enhancing magic 5 skill = 1 up on bar/en spell [mnd don't seem to effect though])

now as I said before in order get this with errant body you would have switch out of dalmatica (losing the 50mp and 2-3 tic of refresh) or stay in this body(morrigan) full time and place mp in another slot like ranged or neck and get full benefit of the body.

Plz stop with the -3 enm on errant it not that important and if you pulling hate without it you must be spaming cures in which case you be out mp in about a minute anyway. with penitent's belt and tamas that is -6enm and is plenty want more merit it(but -3enm wont save you/)

As for blu can't say much about them but overlooking the gear they have available Homam Corazza seem to be a better choice for tp. There spells arrangement give them stat bonus and traits and depending on that they can change there gear to there spells. something a rdm can not do. This body is just as good for rdm as in blu and each get about = benefit out of it.

edit: and what wrong with the way chasuble look anyway? looks better them most the other bodies in this game, and dam sure better then errant body, which is the most ugliest body in the game.

novio is not worth it for rdm and should go to a blm we get better use of magnetic and loquaicious earring and I would not take one unless I had a blm. Iv'e been trying for the af2 hat for 2 years have done over 20 xarabard just very bad luck on drops only seen twice lost both rolls. As for dalmatica I personally don't want it I would rather get a morrigans, I don't care about the 50mp don't need it if I did i would wear a serket ring. I do want the crimson mail, but have not had the luck of getting aspid have tryed but no luck. Which will change soon with the update of new places for abj.(hope there either in that new area or in ks 99.)

Aren't you the idiot who wasn't going to buy a haubergeon at 59 because you had a hauberk at 68?

no I was the person who wanted to explore other options then haubergeon, instead of being generic war. Yet certain people who think there is only one solution to everything ie: you. Unfortunately I don't have money just to throw around so I was trying get incite on the different types of armor before buying them. Should of know better to ask people here would have gotten results asking the idiots on allak forum.

You actually asked if you should buy one of the two pieces that aren't as good as Hauby because you had a berk waiting.

Here is the thread, you read it and understand you were trying to gimp yoruself till you could wear your berk. http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showthread.php?t=36024

actally I said that hoping get reply about the crit body, (again should known better with you people). Mainly because I had alot of acc/atk gear at the time and was wondering if crit hit rate (with my full merits) would shine with the other body, but as normal you flame because it different and I have to go through 15-20 different post before finding what I wanted to know. That post could been done in 3 post, all someone had say is that it only about ~4% bonus full merit not very noticeable then I would have said hmm don't seem that good guess i'll go with harby. thx for the info. simple... sweet, but no you have to nit pick every thread to try find something argo about.
Is it so hard to just reply to what the open post is asking?

You say we don't need +stat in gear because we can get stats from spells...

Well, let's say you have +20 STR from spells. How would it possibly hurt us to get another +20 from gear? Last I checked, 40 > 20

I wasn't saying BLU>RDM, I was responding to this post from you:

Hellstorm said:
Blu can not say they can replace all there bodys with this 1 piece rdm can.

I do think Homam is better for tp'ing in, but the fact that it is up for arguement not only shows how close these 2 pieces are, but that you could simply just forget getting Homam and stick with Morrigan's. This piece in fact could replace ALL other BLU body pieces.

You say we don't need +stat in gear because we can get stats from spells...

Don't forget, to get that much of a stat increase from our spells, we would have to not set staple spells, and JT's.

by the time my linkshell kills the last extension in the zone, we typically have 2 hours leftover, or more if we burn through things ahead of our usual pace.

This means it took you 1H30 to wipe wall of eye's extension, you have now to clear the Dragons, and your 2H is ready.

it's clearly obvious that a rng 5 minute ability is more efficient and a better way to kill the stone than a 2 hour one

It's not more effecient, it saves you a 2H that you won't use in the next 2H anyway.

You really have no idea how Dynamis works in that case. When this happens during farming, usually the best thing to do is get everyone up and unweakened ASAP.

So basically you are explaining me that you save rdm's 2H for an hypothetical wipe (in case whm don't do the job). Why not. I hope you don't wipe to much though. Also you have to rely on a rdm to be alive, cos if he is weakened chainspell raise is ridiculous( 2 raises).

Chasuble is a good body piece. I use it when nuking ... and i should use it when using dark spells. Errand body is not better than chasuble. I you look for accuracy on nukes, equip chasuble. It has not been proven that int gives you accuracy on spell, and in what proportion. Check wiki :

"Some players believe that certain attributes also seem to increase Magic Accuracy, but this is heavily debated"

"It is assumed that two points in these attributes correspond to one point of Magic Accuracy for related spells"

And i agree that errant body is ugly !

magnetic earring, and I'm not attacking anyone I just take offense that you place me in category of someone who don't take pride in there gear.

I was just more pointing out that for someone who's going "z0mg my gear is so leet", you make it a point to have your most commonly seen body piece be something that's usually not very good (a macro piece for the odd nukes or dark spells, sure, but those are a relatively low percentage of what a RDM's usually casting).

Just have a chance of it being hq king and even if claim and kill small chance of it being dalmatica. So that statement that dalmatica are easier to get is false.

You also only need one drop instead of three, getting *some* abjuration (if not two) is guaranteed I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong), and between other commitments many people probably aren't gonna do Salvage more than once weekly either. Throw in the competence factor, and the luck factor with drops. Throw in the fact that not every Salvage run is going to be something that *can* potentially go to a Morrigan body.

And throw in S-E's announcement that they're gonna be making other (pre-warned to be annoying, but still other) ways of getting abjurations, and ... I'd say Dalmaticas will stop pop up more regularly than Morrigans. Whether they happen to fall to *you* is another question, your point about claiming is quite valid (though it's not nearly such a concern for Aspido as it is for Nid), but the fact remains that *someone* will get a Dalmatica reasonably often.

And even if Morrigan's managed to not only be equal to Dalmatica in availability, but even ended up being *more* common, that in no way invalidates the argument that RDM *does* have two options for auto-refresh body pieces, while BLU only has this one. You may not like the other option but it still very much exists.

I am, believe it or not, aware of RDM HP/MP convert ratio concerns. I'm *also* aware that it takes a fair bit of MP and HP -> MP gear to hit an even ratio for any race other than tarus (who still need a little bit, but not nearly as much), because RDM's base MP growth sucks horribly. In other words, 50 HP -> MP on one item is still perfectly useful to RDM. It either gets you closer to convert ratio than you were otherwise, or (shocker of shockers) it frees up some other slot and lets you wear other stats there.

It always does amuse me when anyone other than a PLD uses Cure 4 outside of an emergency ... and yes, I know that MND and healing skill help boost cures, I do have a 75 WHM after all. However, all of that is macroable, and you don't need to wear MND full-time even when not curing. Do I need to explain the concepts of full-time stats (such as refresh, melee stats, tank stats, +/-enmity) vs. part-time stats (such as casting speed, recast time, spell stats, WS stats) to you? I can make a list if you like. :P

now as I said before in order get this with errant body you would have switch out of dalmatica (losing the 50mp and 2-3 tic of refresh) or stay in this body(morrigan) full time and place mp in another slot like ranged or neck and get full benefit of the body.

Losing 2-3 ticks of Refresh implies having the Dalmatica unequipped for like 8 seconds or so. That's where I said *clever* macroing. Only swap out the other piece for the moment you need it, so you'll have Dalmatica unequipped for 1-2 seconds (which means you will lose 0-1 ticks of Refresh). And you do not lose 50 MP, you lose 50 *max* MP, which is a very different beast.

As I'm sure you know from being a RDM, you only need your convert ratio to be good when you convert and immediately after you convert. Then you can spend some of that MP (for example, curing yourself back after you convert), and then - this may not have occurred to you - you can swap that much MP gear out and not lose any *current* MP.

So unless your MP pool is within 50 MP of its max (and if it is, your MP is practically full anyway so there's not much use in complaining), you can gear swap out Dalmatica to your heart's content and not have it touch your current MP in the slightest.

Or, alternatively, macro in another 50 MP item (in whichever equip slot you see fit) as you macro out Dalmatica, and then vice versa as you macro Dalmatica back in, and your MP pool won't wobble at all.

Either way, it's very possible to take advantage of Auto-Refresh all the time (occasionally losing *one* tick, if a spell happens to go off just when you would've gotten a tick) and Errant's stat boosts for your spells, with clever macros, without wearing Morrigan. I do agree Morrigan would make it easier to pull off with less annoying blinking and simpler macros and less inventory space. But the fact still remains you can already get Auto-Refresh full-time and big INT/MND boosts for spell casting, without it.

Plz stop with the -3 enm on errant it not that important and if you pulling hate without it you must be spaming cures in which case you be out mp in about a minute anyway. with penitent's belt and tamas that is -6enm and is plenty want more merit it(but -3enm wont save you/)

-4 enmity available from merits, just to nitpick, though most people who play multiple jobs, understandably don't touch enmity merits in either direction. And my BRD routinely runs around in -12 (unmerited), and I could pile on more if I ever fought HNMs any more (and I did, when I did). -Enmity isn't really needed at all in meripo, and you ought to have way more than -6 for HNMs. (+/- Enmity is a full-time stat, so it's something you can throw on while not casting.)

edit: and what wrong with the way chasuble look anyway? looks better them most the other bodies in this game, and dam sure better then errant body, which is the most ugliest body in the game.

Different people, different fashion sense. Everyone I've ever talked to about it, thinks it looks (at best) kinda frumpy.
