The other day I was in a party in the Sand Caves, and my party wasn't exactly what you would call experienced. They end up getting agro on the way to the zone, and they kill a couple of guys. I'm not mentioning names for a couple reasons. I like one of them, and the other didn't seem that bad of a guy either.

Anyway, I get a /tell stating that I mpk'd them, and they are going to get my entire party jailed. I politely inform him that I did have sneak on, that my party didn't do it on purpose, and that people don't get jailed for zoning agro.

One of them remembered me from a party, and called the dogs off on me, but proceeded to harrass my party. They then tell me to run......
I appreciated the fact that they gave me a warning, but that put me in a tight spot. Do I warn my party of the mpk, or allow them to get "taught a lesson".

I finally decide at the last minute to warn them, and as a result only one member died, which happened to be the same one that got the bulk of the agro on the way in. I too died from trying to sleep the mobs giving everyone a chance to bail.

So my question is, if someone is so upset about getting killed by other people's agro, should they turn around and do the same thing?

I understand it is a question of morality, but I'm curious to see what you guys think. I personally think revenge is retarded, and the source of way too many conflicts, both in game, and in rl.

I don't think MPK is right no matter what. What happened to them was an accident through aggro and links. That's not MPK. But what they did was the same thing, but on purpose, which would be MPK.

I think MPK'ing is just stupid and childish. "You're claimed my NM. I'm going to be a baby about it and kill you."

agree

there was no "lesson" to begin with really. you said your party was a bit green and they probabll made s imple mistake. and they did what anyone does. zoned. you did good in warning them.

it was an accident, I agree with Swishiee on this one.

The only problem with that is we are paryting in the sand caves. We were all lvl 47+, and if I remember correctly most of us where rank 3 or higher. I guess I was a bit ticked at them for doing it as well, but the good angel on my shoulder smacked me harder than the bad angel so I did the right thing.

I almost d'lvl'd again. Only missed it by 6 exp. lol

well no body is perfect. and dying pisses people off (or not) in different ways. imo the other party was in the wrong simply cause you guys made a mistake. they missinterpreted it and crossed the line.

MPK=wrongness
regardless of the circumstance

i agree with that statement for the most part, because most people dont deserve it. however, the only time i would consider MPK-ing anyone would be if they're a gilseller. they're the only ones who really deserve it in my opinion

ok guys this was not an MPK the just zoned mobs that aggroed them... MPKing is generally done with the intention to kill someone thier intention was to save themselves.

Guys stop MPKing eachother please remeber that this is a god damn videogame. you guys should just go kill eacother in real life.

Even when I was in the high 50's I once accidentally trained crabs to the Terrigan side of Kuftal. Totally unintentional, I just had sneak wear in a tight spot and a crab moved and aggroed me as I was recasting. Shit happens.

If you camp a zone line, you have to expect that you're probably gonna see the occasional person zoning to get away from aggro. Most people do it. It's not MPK. Now if someone did it multiple times, that's a different story. But to go out of your way to intentionally MPK someone who trained stuff on you once, while you were standing at a zone line, is just retarded.

I agree...there should be some sort of PvP, not just in ballista. Like maybe...you have to do some sort of sign up thing for it, like a quest or talking to an npc, and then your now in the group of ppl that can all kill each other, but if you never signed up for it...or signed out of it, you safe.^^

.....but none of this till i hit 75 plz..

Shit. That's one of my inspirations for getting beastmaster to 75. Having a bad day? Mpk a gilseller!

Actually, creativ (sp?) got me killed twice in a row while I was trying to help some dude, so, I've already got plans to delevel that bitch back to south gustaburg.

Even then. Just because they're gilsellers doesn't mean they deserve to be MPKed.

As long as they stick to the rules, I don't give a damn if they're selling gil. However the moment they break rules, it's huntin' season.

MPK is just pathetic anyways, but sometimes accidents happen, or someone could say it was an accident when they really meant to kill someone, or it might've been an accident but others think it was MPKing.

Yesterday I was lvlling my 34-36 whm in Crawler's nest. Our pty was just getting started since we just got a new replacement. We were still around the beginning main room, and then all of a sudden a lvl 40 something came running by us with a large train of mobs. Crawlers, scorpions, you name it, and he died right in the spot where are pty was and then the scorpions and other aggros killed half our pty.

I managed to run away from it with one or two others, and high lvls close by took care of them. Our pty was pissed off at the one who brought them and he was just saying that it was a mistake.

I don't believe others should MPK you just because you accidently or even intentional MPKed them. You don't like it, so I'm sure you don't do things you like, unless you had a choice, but MPKing is a choice unless accidental.

I just know that there's a lot of idiots in the game anyways who will take things seriously and just want to be superior from others.

MPK anyone that only speek english u wont get threatened in any way
MPK some JP u get banned for sure

get MPK'd by JP tell GM they wont help you

IM NOT RASSIST ITS JUST WHAT I FOR A FACT KNOW

This statement is probably more along the lines of how I feel.
