Yeah, every so often, I see Jussy on Asura. He's not on for that long, maybe about once or twice a week. He's obviously an idiot for not deleting people off his Friends List.

I think if you delete someone from your friends list, it only removes the name from your end of the list and not both. You'd still see Jussy's name regardless, but the account thief will never see yours if they deleted it.

I believe that goes hand-in-hand with "always keep your virus definition up to date" and other basic knowledge things. I've installed an Anti-Virus software on all of my sister's computers, but she's obviously doing something wrong. She goes through at least 4 on my one computer. Right now we've given up buying one for her, because they all break down within, like, a year.

Now she just plays on my parent's lap top. They all break down within 2 years though. My parents have had 3 different computers within the past 2 years, and I've had this one for 5.

Seriously, I have no idea what my family do to my computers. Hell, my 11 year old sister is better at keeping her computer clean and healthy then my 16 year old sister and my parents. She's had 2 computers her entire life. Her first one my parents took because theirs broke down... lol

TheEye had mentioned that it was very possible that the cards used on the stolen accounts were false, and that if they were unable to be charged when the new month rolled around, that we might get our characters back that way. Has anyone tried this, or have any additional info?

Some of the credit cards were rejected, and they then charged the previous credit card from the original owner. However, they still refused to give them their accounts back, since the current credit card information didn't belong to them.

But then again, if you got hacked in the begining of the month you also paid for a service you're not recieving (since you bill for the coming month, not for the month you've played). So it kind of is the same thing.

Anyway, people got their lawyers involved again, so we'll see the outcome of this.

I called and the customer rep said that billing old CC info because of insufficient funds in the current CC doesnt happen. Take it how you want I guess, but there may have been some misunderstanding with whoever said that was the case. All the representative was able to tell me was that my account was still under review and that currently there have been no new policy changes. I told her about the case where we might get our accounts back if the current CC info was bad, and she wasnt aware of that as a possibility. She said if proof of that could be faxed to them, their legal department could look at it though. So, TheEye, is that something that you or your attorney could do?

Yes, for them to do this it would be called wire fraud. Once billing information has been changed you can't go ex post facto and use previous billing information without prior consent.

Windows Update. You can not update windows without IE.

Not sure about anyone else here, but automatic updates have NEVER asked me to open up IE. I get all the high priority updates instantly downloaded and the choice to install is given to me within minutes. Any other "windows update" is optional and usually can be found through the program it relates to directly with a similar scripted update and not IE based download. So unless you're obsessive about checking Windows updates via IE, you don't technically need it at all.

one of my friend said that i was walking to halvung naked 5pm cst i never play @ that time :/ he sent a tell but "i ignored him"

the sad part its well my gear idc its just a game but one of my best friends gave me money to pay ffxi's bill this month as a christmas gift and he borrowed me 2 dusk gear pieces and well they were stolen with all my stuff i feel so bad for him ._.

and magically, 1 guy AH history pops the same day that i get hacked and sells some pieces of my gear ^^ godammit

just read this, and thats not entirely true... there is a website out there that allows you to use Firefox to get Windows Updates, completely bypassing Internet Explorer... but with that being said, im not sure how much id trust going to an unauthorized site just to update Windows... take it with a grain of salt tho
