My choco is pissing me off!

Look at the dat files for yourself. Chocobos dont change color until they're adults.

Uh. no. Theres 4 young models. Yellow with white tips. Yellow with Blue/Gray Tips, Yellow with Black/Brown tips, and Black with Yellow tips. If it was Black, it'd be black. 2 of the "Young Chocobo" models in the viewer screenshow RaiderX posted are the same model.

Don't mind Blaine too much. Though he from time to time has some genuine input, he's usually known for making statements without evidence, carrying himself as if he knew more than the average player, or just carrying an air of arrogance in general.

It's a shame too, since otherwise, I think he's a cool guy.

He's right, even though he's mis-stated. Theres no colored adult chocobo files, and they haven't added color changing at all yet. Even though theres a variety of young chocobo models, it's not enabled.

Like FF7, you couldn't CATCH a yellow chocobo, had to be bred.

Generation:1 'Bokos will all be yellow.

Actually, SE stated in an earlier post (on pol), that the Chocobo raising would be implemented with 2 new colors, and eventually they would release extra colors. The two new colors are Blue and Black. Whether or not the .DATs are in the game or not, doesn't mean much, they still have time to add them in, before they're full blown adults.

As for the Breeding, its not the same as FF7. Theres an NPC in Upper Jeuno (I believe), that states that the color will be dependant on the Father chocobo. I can't remember the exact quote, but it said something like:
"If the father is blue, and the mother is yellow, the resulting offspring will be blue."
So, from the sound of it, unless you have to breed with the NPC Chocobos, Generation 1s, can be colored. However, I seriously doubt you'll see any NPC'd Chocobos, being anything other than yellow, and most likely the same with the Jeuno quest.
