My complaint on Ayrie

Yes and some THFs give us bad names i.e Redstrife, Phovion, Killroy. but you can tell a good thf when you see one i.e Vang, Sirfang, Me^^

I just looked at the screenshots and noticed something...

You claim Ayrie warped when you had a link, and multiple mobs to deal with. You obviously have nothing filtered, and there was no actions shown from the goblin before Ayrie started casting warp. The last screenshot jumps ahead, and skips some important things in the middle. The last picture starts with you taking a beating from a sand lizard (they don't aggro) and your rdm being attacked by the whm goblin. What exactly caused the lizard to attack you, and why is this goblin attacking your rdm? Is the slow casted on your rdm the initial aggro, after you're already fighting this lizard for some unknown reason?

Ayrie

I got sick of reading your pathetic excusses to explain all your fuckups after page 7. nuff said maybe the party was a fuck up, but by reading your post and your "views" on what a whm should/could/would do are far below par in my eye's. i'll just take this as a "Don't party with Ayrie" message. besides, if i need a whm at that lvl I'LL be playing that whm, even if i am 2 people in the same party

First, the goblin with barfira crap was alot earlier, so this isnt the same gob in that SS incase your wondering, the last mob before Ayrie left was a Cocktrice which we tried for a chain5, but were to slow killing, blm didnt have the mp for a MB.

Durring the last fight before she warped, the rdm mistargeted some kind of debuff, but kept the lizard asleep the whole fight, but after Ayrie warped, we went to take the lizard because it woke. As you can see we were trying to get him to pull it back, but it linked anyway. I'm not sure if the rdm took off running before or after the pld 2hr'ed, but the blm and mnk took off running eventually, I soon followed trying to get one of the 3 mobs off of the pld, but he died, then I died of course. But yes, we could have taken those 2 Tough lizards if there was a whm still around, Ayrie still had the mp for a fight or two, especially on just tough mobs. I mean when she left, we weren't even at full HP either, the rdm tried to curaga as Ayrie cast warp, but missed half the group...of course...

I dont care if Ayrie wanted to leave so badly because of that pld, it's still no excuse to warp out with a slept mob and no other mages with mp, and a few party members under 65% hp... I dont know if Ayrie wasnt paying attention because you were to busy with your name calling back and foreth between the pld or what, but we got left in a bad situation.

I said this in another thread about Mabel, and I'm gonna say it again here. Some of these up and coming whm's are giving us old school ones a bad name, and I do not like it.

Ayrie, it IS your JOB as the support/healing job of the party to buff. This includes casting bar spells, protrectra/shellra, haste and regen. It is also YOUR job as whm to take off all effects of the party members including casting stona, viruna, paralyna, silena, etc. And it is YOUR job as whm to cure. If you cannot handle doing all of these things which are a part of the whm job then you need to try something different. That is why WE as whm's get the -na spells. When we cast it affects the whole party. Rdm's only get Barfire, Barstone, Barwater, etc. Blm's get -ga spells which are nukes.

Your tank is your main priority bottom line. Maybe the tank was doin' a bad job, I wasn't there, but by acting the way you did it just made matters worse. If you had a problem with him you should've went to /tels. If that didn't work, then you should've said you had to go in _____ minutes.

Lastly, I would like to point there is no "I" in party. It's a team. You each need to perform your job to the best of your abilities. Lastly, without our tanks, dd's and other support jobs we cannot level. When a whm gets that holier than thou attitude, I just want to slap them.

I haven't posted here before but of all the posts I've read, I've found you often have a strong point to make. I agree wholeheartedly with this. Although I'm only a lvl 53 whm at this point, and God knows I've been in parties with some less than fantastic tanks (as I'm sure we all have), you do the best you can with what you have to work with, or you excuse yourself and leave the party. If you're looking for some kind of grand thank you for doing what you should be doing, which includes haste and all the things Kat mentioned, then you really have not made the right job choice. Believe me, I totally sympathize with you about people who are dicks and I have little tolerance for people who want to tell you what to cast and when when the concept of recast time and MP cost is foreign to them. And I sympathize with being frustrated when a tank seems to have difficulty holding hate which is...very obviously...their job. But the solution is not to be a poor whm to spite them. You're not doing anything but supporting their arguments when you do that. There's something inherently wrong with the mentality: "Ok, you say I'm not doing my job and you're trying to tell me how to do it, so I'm just not going to heal that status effect or cure you until you do better yourself." Do your job. And if you can't deal with someone not doing theirs, that's fine, but don't screw the other people in the party by just disappearing. Be the better person and have a little respect for them and for yourself and give some notice. It's the decent thing to do. As whm, finding another party if you're not happy with the one you're in shouldn't be so difficult after all...Just my two cents.

My Last Two Cents

Once again, I had a very successful day of partying, no complaints, no issues, no qualms... a hint of frustration to a fight gone out of control at the very beginning, but it was a last fight and the easiest way to get over that is seek again and get the xp.

Kat, I don't appreciate your coming into the thread 10 pages later, reading a post or two, and telling me I am not doing my job and I am a subpar whm. I understand I am responsible for certain buffs on the party, as well as status ailments, as well as keeping the party alive in general... that would be the definition of a white mage. The point you failed to recognize is that no person can do ALL that at the same time. I can't use barfira while casting silena, and I cannot keep up protectra while dishing out chain cures on a paladin who refuses to heal himself. Its the basic point that: I cannot be in two places doing two things at the same time.

If I am a crummy whm because I cannot accomplish that, whatever. But lemme detail to you what happens when you have a GOOD party all on the same page.

It all begins with the tank, if the tank holds hate, the whm can focus and knows where to watch for their first priority (HP). The whm's attention is NOT flittering around the entire party or concerned about their own hide. They can toss out larger (3 and 4 tier) Cures with less concern over where the monster is pointing next. Also, this allows them to know which way to point removal spells (The Torama readies Blaster)... well, if your tank is tanking properly, you know where to aim that Paralyzna. With your focus in one place, you can establish a pattern of where to aim your enhances, next. Usually you start by hasting the main target (tank if the rdm is not, or main DD if the rdm is).

On the other hand, if the mob is twirling in circles, pointing its nasty head at everyone, clawing up melee and mage alike, the whm is going to be a lot more conservative, tossing out Cure 2 and 3 to keep folks alive while the tank tries to establish control. The focus is lost and the whm tries to home in on the next person likely to drop low on HP, haste has no part of this picture, there is no buff on your mind, merely survival. It would be a shame for the DD to get slapped with a rogue Goblin Rushed and Double Attacked while you are trying to move into position and raise barfira. I am sure Barfira is not going to help as much as a live DD.

Extend the effectiveness of a party a lot further into the realms of percission and excellence in execution. Cloudxz tanked for me last night, as a Paladin, and there was no problems, 0 at all... except for the fact that he was too good. He held hate, generated pleanty of time for me to hand out the correct buffs to the party (haste, barfira, regen, etc), and also used his MP conservatively, yet effectively enough to never lose hate and never drain my MP bar to the point that the party had to stop and wait more than 15 seconds for either of us. I also had a party earlier in the day with Truegrave as my ninja tank. Once again, he held hate together, the Thief was excellent (maybe he should give lessons!) at placing it on him. I used considerably more mp with that party, but I was also given ample time to recover it, even during fights. Remember, 95% of the time the whm's position on the mob's initial contact with the party in camp is the resting position.

And as a final note... I am no one's mentor, or tutor, I never claimed it, and never turned the status on. I am not expected to be kind and patient to those who do not know what is going on... if they make a honest effort I will give subtle hints or make suggestions. But nowhere in the game am I expected to be everyone's teacher. If you screw up, you're wasting my time. If you're wasting my time, I have no business being around you. Its as simple as that. If you're looking for compassion, someone to cheer you up for being so far down the tubes, to let you know that your ignorance (check the definition before lashing out) is okay... you're looking to the wrong person. I'm in the 65 range now, that means people have had hundreds of thousands of experience (equating to thousands of mob kills) to learn to do their stuff. If they haven't gotten it by now, they do not deserve to get friendly pointers and pats on the back. Just remember what the "M" status means, and remember that its not me. Lol

Actually I based my post on one of yours. This was taken from page 4 of this thread, post #36. I had a feeling this is what you were going to comeback with so I had it written down already^^. Btw, I read every post in this thread before I wrote my own response.

Please read below:

Barfira, status removal, curing tanks (that don't cure themselves), and haste... all... on a sole whm? Don't you think that is a bit much? And then to fuss about it when you don't have it all? I could barfira you... but with the pld lurking at about 600 hp, I figure curing him was higher priority cause he didn't bother to do it himself. You know, that one cure 3 or 4 buys me a lot of time. Then yes, I have more time and mp to do those little things like barfira and haste the people that are not demanding my upmost attention.

Oh, and rdm/whm? That's pretty interesting you mention that... isn't rdm some sort of A at enhancing? Wouldn't a rdm/whm provide a better shield than a whm does when it comes to bar-elements? Oh, damn, forgot, I'm a 60 rdm too... what do I know?

Since you are a lvl 60 Rdm also, then you already know most Rdm's have a /blm sub 9 times out 10 correct? Therefore they don't have the -na spells whereas the Whm/Blm, Smn does.

Lastly, re-read my post. I said if you cannot "do it all" you should think about another job. I made a general statement that is all. But, if the shoe fits ...

I'd just like to add, yet again (I'm starting to sound like a damn broken record and I don't like it), IF you were constant about casting Barfira, the party wouldn't have been losing the hp like they were, therefore you wouldn't have been curing like you were.

Whm's USE YOUR BAR SPELLS!!!! They work.

blah, blah, blah, look whatever you name is...(didnt really bother to make note of it....) I really hate when whms like yourself think you are hot shit just because you level a whm. You are level 62, you havent done shit in this game yet(even on that shitty ass SAM of yours) and with you whiny ass attitude you never will. Since when does fucking asking for Barfira consistute a person attack of such epic porportions that you have to start whining like 6 year old school girl. If it was my party i would have booted your dumbass the moment you bitched about casting barfira, shut the fuck up, cast the spell, and take your dumbass back to your resting spot and cure. it takes literally two freaking seconds to cast that damn spell in the beginning of a fight.

You also have no right to bitch about a PLD not doing his job when you obviously cant do your with even a sliver of professionalism....You do not reused to stona someone jsut because you feel like throwing a world class hissy fit in an exp party. you want to know how to handle something with a little professionalism? You ask politely or suggest something in a manner so that people actualy respect what you have to say. Saying something like " OMG you are the worst PLD ever" is something some level 17 gimp war in the dunes with an underleveled sub would say....

Also about you level a ton of jobs to 40+? so fucking what...a 10 year old child could level something to 40....hell my 8 year old brother could probably log and and do that....and you want a damn cookie over it? You have done nothing in this game! Please dont parade around like you are somebody...i mean damn...since i came back every noob thinks he or she is hot shit now....

As for your Earlier banter about my name....damn fucking right i am the Great Jonas. I am great because of everything i do...i am the best fucking RNG out there. though i am sure some people might dissagree and call my a noob....but i didnt know i had fallen so low as to be rediculed by some shit level 62 whm.

Wait.....I havent fallen that low...I am still the best and prove it everyday....damn i was worried for a moment!

The Great Jonas

P.S. want to see some gear bitch? come check me since you seem to put all your stock in that! You can dream about stuff you will never have! weeeeeeee!

Thankee Zodiaque^^. I am passionate about my job, and just try to speak the truth. I try very hard to be a decent whm, and I truly care about the people I'm taking care of in a party whether it be exp, mission, quest, etc. It really pisses me off when there is a whm who thinks they can get to level 75 just because they have the whm job and don't give two shits about their party members. I truly abhor that "ME" attitude.

I know I couldn't have gotten to lvl 75 without people like your brother, Miya, Prophecy, Grayswander, Angelous, Maseki, Genna, Uzor, Seph, Dalva, Beiro, Cloudx, U7, Minsong, Equinoxs, Laur, Everlasting, Pauk, Tenkies, Ujio and soooo many more.

I know I couldn't have gotten my Rank Missions to 10 in 2 Nations without a ton of people helping me. Lastly, I know I wouldn't still be playing this game if I hadn't met the above people over the last 2 years and many more.

In general, I agree with Jonas. It's not a WHM's place to become bratty, snotty, and/or refuse to do her job and further sabotage exp if she feels the PLD is doing a shitty job. Fine, leave if you want, but quit screwing with everyone else's exp because you can't be bothered to Stona the tank.

And throwing a temper tantrum afterward and Warping is immature and unprofessional. May I ask WTF the OP's gear had to do with anything, by the way? It doesn't make her points on your WHMing attitude any less valid, it only makes you look like you're trying to redirect everyone's attention. Her doing subpar damage doesn't make you any less of a bitch.

Neither is her doing subpar damage the party equivalent of, "I'm going to stop Stonaing you because I think you suck."

Yeah, I have always believed there were two whm types in the game.

There are those that do it because they honestly, truly care for other people and like being responsible for them, and those others that believe that having the power to be the only whm seeking gives them the right to demand nothing but perfection from every member, and if they don't have that perfection, zoom zoom, they're off to find a better party because all of you are nothing but noobs. Sadly, I thought that attitude dropped off somewhere around the dunes or qufim, but I guess I was wrong.

This New Year's I'll make a toast for all the badass whms out there that do care for others and try their best to be the best whm they can be and honestly level the job because they are compassionate, caring people.

I really don't understand how you'd be interested in the job of whm if you weren't this sort of person...but eh, I don't understand most people. lol

:)

Oh that's simple, smoke 2 when you lfp, smoke 2 joints when your invited, smoke 2 joints while you tele because it makes you feel alright. smoke 2 joints while you run to camp, smoke 2 joints before you smoke 2 joints, and then you smoke 2 more.
then your set to play whm ^^, well at least i am and i do a damn good job at the laid back atmisphere

LOL Kat's a noob :P

All I have to say to this is it made me laugh. I mean come on barspells... isn't that basic WHM 101 stuff? Really people...

Ayrie I remember ya from way way back and from what I do remember your pretty darn good at your jobs. However, Kat's been doing whm since way back in the day when people just first started playing this game. Honestly I don't see how it would be possible for you to try and argue about how to play whm with someone of that status (it's late best word I can think of to describe what I mean).

Bottom line... Kat knows whm. You may not agree with everything she has to say but maybe think about it and see if there's anything you can use to make urself better at whm. BarFira takes about 1.3 seconds to cast btw.

I'm sure your a great whm Ayrie, but the moment you get the "don't tell me how to do my job" attitude you missout on learning something you may not have already known. This game is constantly changing so there is always something new to learn.

I can understand where your comming from though since the PLD sounds kind of noobish if he claims he can't cure himself. Only reason possible a PLD couldn't get a cure off if he was using a cure4 spell which takes more time to cast then a cure3. With random cure3, flash and provoke there is no reason why he shouldn't be able to hold onto hate.

I mean shit I remember partying with oldschoolers like warick and darkchylde back in the day and I got so bored as whm I'd use divine seal + curaga3 just to try and see if I could steal hate away from Darkchylde. Which failed I might add. If a ninja can hold hate on that there is no excuse for a PLD not being able to hold hate.

Kat's right, it's a team effort. Sounds like to me that your party was putting too much on you to do and not doing enough to support their whm. They didn't argue with you over the fact you had tryed to tell them for along time over the course of exp'n the problems which needed correcting. All they could say is that you were rude and left without proper notice. I can't say I blame you and I know I wouldn't have put up with it for as long as you did.

Looks like you did the right thing by leaving a bad situation and finding another party that worked better for you. Seriously people don't reward people with free exp when they don't have the proper skill to warrent their levels. If they don't want to listen to good advice when it's being told to them, that's fine. Suffer and learn the hard way then, just remember it's a two way street. I know many Leet whm's out there who are some of the best NA whm's on our server, I never ever ever heard one of them say "don't tell me how to do my job".

Life is too short, less drama more fun. Be safe out there people.

Solitia

Sorry for the double post people's but...

Solitia it's fitting that your a blm, since your last post was so *%^&ing clueless.

If anyone has a right to get bitchy or snotty in a party it would be the WHM first and formost. Not saying they should, but they would have the most reason and right too.

There is nothing wrong with expecting people who are past a certain level to be able to play with a certain amount of skill. Give me one good reason why myself or anyother whm out there should have to sit and suffer with a subpar party and get lesser amounts of exp when they could be off with another party and get more exp?? There is none so comments like that are retarded.

Ayrie made no secret about their displeasure with how the party was going. they even stuck around for alongtime and tried to fix the problem, maybe not in the best way possible but whichever.

When people don't want to listen, personally I take a seat and watch them come so close to death that if someone farted they would fall over dead. Sometimes it's the WHM's best tool to get their point across, and for damn sure makes people wakeup and pay attention. To me when a party isn't going the way it should be, doing things of this nature (as in stop curing or removing status ailments) is not only the best way to get everyones attention but is also a final warning to the party that something is seriously wrong.

You can't sit back and expect someone to work twice as hard in a party for the same amount of exp as everyone... oh wait I almost forgot your a BLM, I guess you can. Easist mage job in the game.

Figured someone would try to pull this crap, lol. I was a 71 WHM and a 67 RDM before I was a BLM. Good try, ass.

Why? Does a WHM lose more exp than, say, a PLD when they die? Is this the Divine Right of WHMs that I never learned about? Is a WHM's partying experience more frustrating when dealing with noobs than a BLM's? Why is it any different because you're Curing rather than tanking or DDing? Seems like a good, old-fashioned sense of entitlement to me.

I never said she shouldn't have complained or even left if it was that bad. But by not Stonaing and generally throwing a hissy fit, she lowered herself to their level and therefore lost any right to take the high horse. A WHM who doesn't remove status REGARDLESS OF THE REASON WHY is not doing their job, period. Not only was she screwing the tank out of even the slightest ability to do his job (Again, regardless of how well he was doing it before, he sure as hell wasn't able to do it while Petrified), but she was screwing the DDs out of exp that they were earning, too. Unacceptable.

And why should DDs or a tank have to suffer through a WHM who won't Stona and who acts like a child? There is no reason, so comments like yours are retarded.

What the FUCK. How disgustingly unprofessional. Shall I just stop MBing or Refreshing your ass if I don't like what you're doing, too? Why don't we all just quit, that'll get our point across!

Again, if it was a sucky party, sure, leave. Some parties just blow. But don't fucking quit in the party and waste everyone's time (including your own!) and ruin the rep of the hard-working WHMs out there. There's already enough people out there that see WHMs as lazy power-trippers who gloat over having the life of the party in their hands, though from all indications, you fit neatly into this stereotype. Quit making it hard for the rest of us.
