Blah
I had tuned this out for a week, figured I had better things to do than constantly explaining myself for my actions over a hour or so based on 2 screen shots depicting perhaps the last 2 minutes.
First off, about the not stona'ing stuff... that was my LAST resort... it was ment, and I do believe I said this to the party, as:
"If you cannot tank properly and heal yourself..."
Then insert some incredibly frustrating comment from Elleshar
"Fuck you, stay stoned."
It was ment as last resort as in: I am not dealing with this anymore... if you're not going to tank, there is no need to even have you active. Shock factor, frustration factor, a little bit of everything after a hour of dealing with this.
As for getting superior and holier-than-thou... what would you do if your paladin went a hour in an xp pt draining your mp every fight, losing hate within 30 seconds of contact with the camp (losing hate to the point that he had to labor and DDs had to slack/turn around to shed hate)... I did the reasonable thing, asked if he could heal himself... which was met with: I cannot heal myself because my casting is always interrupted. This led to 3 or so fights of watching his cure patterns VERY closely and discerning that he had NO idea how to cast a spell while engaged to a mob and clearly was not making any attempt to do anything other than provoke and flash.
I'm not going to argue that I was wrong for losing my cool. But if you think I flew off the handle 15 minutes into a fight merely to go seek in jeuno for something better, you're wrong.
Phraust, Passions... everyone who said its a whm's responsibility to cast Barfira... consider this... it takes 2 secs to pull up the menu and look at your party configuration... ooo rdm/whm, cool. Now we're going to take a trip back to the resting patterns of whms and rdms.
95% of the time when a mob enters into the camp and engaged the whm is in the resting position
95% of the time when a mob enters into the camp and engaged the rdm is in the readied position
WHM does not have convert or an easy means to refresh itself, so it tried to get all the rest it can to ensure the chainability of the pt. The RDM on the other hand is ready to deliver its important debuffs early to get the most out of them.
Logically, the rdm/whm becomes the primary target when it comes to Barfira vs gobs. Otherwise the whm must disrupt the resting cycle, move over to the melee, buff, and clear out of the way of hazards... and the bomb we are fussing over in general was tossed within 5 secs of the mob entering into camp. It takes a about 2 to clear from resting -> standing lag, another 2-3 to move and settle so you do not interrupt... and finally a second to cast barefira. Which by my count puts the whm casting barfira right after getting nuked to death after a suicide. Once again, reason that rdm/whm should be the primary target for casting barfira (and this was the party set up in this case). I knew this, so there was no guess work in it, I worked on assumption that other players realized the basis of whm resting patterns. Which leads into my next point.
I have established that a whm loves resting that mp, so, there will be times when you will rest as much as you can until needed or you are at a satisfactory % to do the fight and be left with (theoretically) a decent amount to start resting on for the next fight. This is most likely a judgment call from whm to whm, but with a pld tank (who can and needs to do the early heals to ensure hate placement) I try to stay resting til about 80% mp depending on where I started resting at, sometimes its 50%, but just gotta use a judgment call on when is enough. If the tank is unlucky (few stray shots on a nin, or untimely attacks on a pld to drop hp fast) I will initiate the battle with a Cure 5, its disrupts hate the least and gets the fight back on the right track faster vs spamming cure 3. I would love to get up and toss cure 3 every time, but sometimes it just doesn't work that way. Sometimes yes, you do have to stand up and push out some good curing early on.
I put a lot of thought into a lot of the stuff I do. I don't keep to pre-established trends, I don't feel that I need to do it exactly how the last person who happens to be 75 did it... I do it the way that I feel will be the best given the current circumstances. And as far as I know, only Akisu has had a problem with me, I know a lot has been mentioned in this thread, but... from all my party members with me as whm, I cannot recall anyone having issues quite like I had with 1 party... and the issues were based with the paladin, but a breakdown in a position such as the tank leads to an entire party failing. This is a case of that.
We can argue over and over about this, and I will admit that I was wrong for going off the deep end on the party... after my patience had been exhausted.
Passions... would you like a crummy DD who can only hit 25% of the time telling you how to do your job? Maybe Kat would like a blm who cannot MB telling her how to do her job. Then again, maybe you'd look at them like: you obviously cannot do your job correctly, why do you insist on telling me how to do mine? This applies ten fold at 60+ when you expect people how to do their job. Once again, in a party, unless you are VERY confident with how you are doing your job, do you have the grounds to tell someone else how to?
Yes, we can debate all night about 5 minutes out of 60 and what all was done wrong. Let's disregard the first 55, those don't count. Only the last 5 where stuff really hit the fan matter. Let's base all our assumptions on 2 screenies, and the whm not stona'ing one time to illustrate the point of a very miffed off player. How do you think we survived the first 55 minutes if I was not stona'ing and silena'ing the paladin? I think the point is very clear here... you rag me for a last ditch effort in a losing battle after 30 previous where I crossed all my T's and dotted my I's. I have done cats in Laby enough to know how to pass out QUICK status removals, my refusal to remove that was purely that, a refusal.
Anyways, I am the enemy... yes, the bad person for refusing to promote ignorance at high levels, for dealing with said ignorance for an hour until I couldn't take it anymore... and yes, I am terrible for warping AFTER a fight (which I did not know that the rdm had mistargeted a lizard and had a link... definitely doesn't sound like something that needs to be blamed on me however, pawn that one off on the rdm for being a dork and mistargeting at level 60+... didn't we stop doing that in Crawler's Nest?)
Now, that I am the most evil, vile, and disgusting person on the server for having a set of standards, can we get back to playing the game and get off of the who was right and who was wrong for the last 5 minutes of a 60 minute scenario?
