My "New BRD JA" Findings.

that job trait is reserved for Summoners.
Which reminds me.

Your ass is coming SMN for the next Seasons Greetings run. :p

Damn Krono. I think that if a JA is available to use, you have really only two options?

Use or don't use.

I mean, I think I speak for all Dark Knights out there when I say "bawww why does Arcane Circle suck so much ass in exp and merit parties".

This is the one update that I've been looking forward to forever. I was soooo worried that they'd screw this up and make the recast longer then 30 seconds and make this ja useless.

The biggest way I look at this is as a true fix for bard. Yes, positioning and hitting songs on specific people WAS how bard was played.

The biggest thing I was interested in about this was the fact that if you were to look, bards get some of the best melee gear in the game. While it's nothing as amazing as Ares or something, they can get Heca and dusk. Not to mention, take a look at a bard's Relic and some of their AF. I've always been of mind that a bard, while not being a huge DD, can add quite alot. Various reasons. One, they're very versatile. If a bard needs more atk, they can do that. If they need more acc, or haste, they can do those too. While a bard's melee skill isn't amazing, it does allow them to get Evisceration, a great WS. If you were to ask my LS, I've shown over and over now that I'm starting to gear my bard for melee, that I don't do omfg dmg, but I do decent, consistent dmg.

Yes, a bard actually meleeing is situational. I still agree with this. But it also means, that we now have more options when doing other things. Brd/dnc is now a vastly more viable option. It wasn't previously, not because of dmg or anything, but because we did need to run around so much casting songs. Now we can stand in place and melee, gaining tp, helping with erases, even more pt buffs, and heals, while still hitting the mages with ballad, and giving everyone else what they need.

Imho this is exactly what bard needed to go back to, what seems to be, the original intent for bard. Something more along the lines of dancer, frontline support.

I wanna see the XP/hr you pull off with this at any level all I see is a bard feeding a mob with some nasty TP moves more TP for them alla Fuel + fire and Yes most pts party in ToAu and ToAu mobs have some annoying TP mobs.

I exp on weapons, man

Since there's a break in my merit party, I'll post this now. I'm loving the hell out of this new ability. It's far easier to keep ballad on a single mage in a cannon party, especially when I only have time to cast ballad 2.

It's a limited use ability, but when those uses come up, it's pretty awesome.

HEY! How about casting spells like Prelude?!

It can be useful for that, RNGs dont have to stand so far away from everyone to get it, and it can be targeted on them without giving any other members of the party /ra bonuses...

To bad it isn't a AoE song.

Y'know I thought I was seeing things when I heard them saying "USE PIANISSIMO WITH PRELUDE!", but thanks for confirming I wasn't crazy. >_>

You're not seeing the long term benefit of that ability. Now when you have cannons and you're pulling as BRD, you can single target the healer with ballad and not worry about running all over creation. Just make things easier. Don't be so close minded.

Love this. Was pulling from two directions in mamool camp the other day and the rdm kept moving from one side of the melee to the other to avoid pops. Would've made it infinitely less frustrating to be able to single target ballad II on her.
