My Theory on AV and how to defeat it

Has this ever happened before? Does it actually stop its 2-hours?
 
theres been countless reports of it doing so but i beleive the torque must be used and only the occasional second attack effect stops or locks its 2 hour. because to me it makes sense that they would stick on occasinal second attack on each jailer weapon for a reason like that

idk if its 2H related, but our THF jinzo got a strange message while meleing AV, using 2H, justice sword+stones+torque. I stayed 1+hour after that, and AV didnt summon pets again.
 
yeah it may stop AV using certain abilities maybe weakening it and maybe each job using their weapons torque and stone stop different abilities hopefully with this theory many people on the server may come close or even defeat av but to anyone who tried it i rlly wish them the best of luck

Actually, I've never seen this theory put to the test, I checked a lot of other FFXI sites from time to time in my spare time looking at AV theories, and this theory has never been mentioned/tested. The weapons have been used, but not with those Virtue stones.

Anyone with half a brain uses virtue stones when they use virtue weapons mate :)

Edit: Also forgot to mention, the torque theory hasn't been mentioned before as well, until now.

You must really never go to BlueGartr... This whole thing, meleeing jobs with weapons and matching torques, has been tried several times... Usually with nothing more than a "Yea, we tried, it didn't do shit" mention. It's only the AV kills that get long posts, so I can understand if you never noticed them... but as I said, it's been tried repeatedly, never worked.

Except that one odd effect in Uzor's AV thread a little ways down, but that hasn't been recreated, so I say it was just a fluke.

Uzor's thread on AV is still on this page. It's almost the exact same theory.

Why does this thread exist?

I had to stop and reread "whms melee" a few times. Whm. Melee. AV. I can't quite put those together.

In all honesty, it wouldn't be that hard. AV have close to no evasion, so the WHM wouldn't have any problems hitting him with even 200 skill.

Either way, can't hurt to try... doing Jailer of Love again soon, so I'm hoping for AV pop.
 
Last time i saw Absolute Virtue, someone with a Lv 1 character kept aggroing > reraise so as not let him depop. I noticed that he was hitting AV (hitting for 0).

Most everyone in Europe write it DD/MM/YY.

And what does it matter if he beat Maat 2 months ago? it doesn't neccesarily mean he's a noob and that he don't know what he's talking about, nor that his opinion is less valid then anyone elses. He might have less experience, but even people that beat Maat 2 years ago can have little experience.

Dense europeans, he beat maat 2 months ago, I doubt he has a clue what's going on with AV.

Edit: a lot of his argument starts with "I have/haven't read that before"
