MySpace girl sends a second man to prison

Hell, my dad never said "Don't do drugs", "Don't smoke" or "Don't drink" and I never did because I was raised properly and had common sense. I didn't even have a curfew.

I drink occasionally now, but geez I'm 28, I'm allowed!

Usually, ESPECIALLY with females, when the parents are way to strict, there's more chance for the child to go out and do bad shit. It's alot better when they're not strict. Don't get me wrong, there's a limit, because you can't just let them do whatever they want, but being too strict usually contradicts the point of being strict. Chances are they're not going to be able to take the pressure anymore and just be like, Fuck it. They'll go out, and do who knows what. Or run away from home entirely.

Catholic school girls are freaks in the sack. I think the discipline is related. I once had me a redhead girl that spent all but her last two years of school in a Christian school. Redheads are bad enough, but add in all those years of repression and wow.

I agree with Celv there about the "age of maturity" because you can easily place a number like 14 or 16 on it and be done. I think it's a horrible oversight with his prime example that you can go get shot but not have a drink with your commanding officer. There's too much emphasis on age, and not enough emphasis on responsibility. I think that parents in this country have had it too fucking easy for the past 20 years. They can shift blame on everything but themselves it seems. "Video games" "Television" "Declining public education system" are just a myriad of excuses we see on a daily basis and it sickens me.

I also think the methodology of teaching sex ed and drug ed are responsible for the increase in problems with both. Both are taught with scare tactics, making them seem like morally terrible and reprehensible things to do. That just appeals to the nature of rebellion in teenagers. OF COURSE if you say not to do something they'll go out and do it, because it feels good and it's something they're "not supposed to be doing".

I think giving moral responsibility back to younger kids instead of telling them what's best will really change the direction. Parents cover for their kids too much. In that regard, make drinking legal for everyone. You'll see it go from the cool thing to do, to just another way to become a failure at life. I don't think it would go away entirely, but it would stop being such a big deal to kids because it won't be forbidden fruit that's exclusive to "adults".

Problem with Sex Ed. in this country is that the general route of these "educational" courses is one of Abstinence Only. I did a project last semester for my Education class and the facts of it were rather disturbing. These courses do not teach about the importance of contraception such as condoms or birth control, but maintain the supposed fact that abstaining from sex promotes better health both mentally and physically.

I'm sorry but if I was duped into something such as that I would have to shave my palms every day and wear some really thick coke bottle lens glasses.

Well, its definately better for your health. You can't catch the herpegonosyphilaids if you aren't sexually active. And humping when you aren't mentally/emotionally ready for it can have very, very negative and long lasting effects.

I don't think abstinence should be the only thing taught because people will always fuck; when they say abstinence is safest, there are really no grounds to argue the point.
