this can go 2 ways, it hasn't been clarified

first off jiraiya is suspicious as to why pain, who as nagato mastered all ten elemental classes of ninjutsu via his eyes at a very young age (no normal person can do this)

yet only uses summons, and has not shown any attacks of his own yet in the fight

gamaken (ken-san) say's hes a failure and leaves (lol) and jiraiya poofs away and talks with some unknown figures that seem to refer to him as "pops" or something

this is the part that is deviate

it's not sure if what they appear to mean by this page is that jiraiya is in reality a frog (epic lol) or his summons are a frog family, and he isn't in the image

it certainly looks like him, with his face paint and the end of his forehead protector

the reason why the first is a possibility is because of the wording used under said image "sennin's true form" or something to that extent
 
I doubt he's really a frog, but that he did something akin to Kiba and Akamarus transformation. But with the eldest toads.

Well, the images doesn't actually state he's a frog. He's summoned 2 something on to his shoulders. Whether they're male or female I do not know, although one seem to be a female, from the "Eldest and big sister" thing that Jiraya calls them. then there's one that says "Don't say that... mom!" which rules Jiraya out as a female, which can refer to "Big sister" calling the Eldest mom. Although what's confusing is this part:

???: Little Jiraya was forced to do this...
???: Pops shut up!!

While Pops doesn't necessarily refer to "father", and can just be used in stead of "old person", its usually refered to males. And it seems wrong that one of the summoned things would say it, considering the context, which makes me think Jiraya said it.

So, is the Eldest a male, with Jiraya's "big sister" being the Eldest mother? It all seems to be so confusing... Unless "Big Sister" is simply referring to the thing being older then Jiraya, and "mom" is the same thingy as "big sister", and he just refer to them as that as such out of respect?

He's still going to die regardless. Either that or lose and escape, which would make him a coward. So I'd say death. Although locking him up in order to lure Naruto out would work, I suppose. I doubt they'd lock up someone that powerful and dangerous to their cause, though.

I don't think they will kill him, or make him run away. My guess is he'll be in serious trouble and someone will come and bail him out. They won't kill him because he's too popular of a character, and taking Jiraiya out of the series would just suck. <3 Ero-sennin.

And escaping from the Rin'negan isn't exactly cowardice. Dying is all well and good when there is a cause, but he has no reason to die here. Death would accomplish nothing(unless it would take out Nagato). Live to fight another day, ya? He could accomplish much more(and train more) if he escaped, rather than dying for nothing. Assuming it comes to that.

that probably wouldn't happen. if it did it would be a pretty big issue for konoha, not to mention tsunade going apeshit and going on a vigilante kamikaze mission
 
from spoilers, jiraiya's sennin form is some kind of fucking ssj3 overpowered bs

stopping pain's attacks with 1 finger

could be fake, though
 
Ah, but Sanoske, the death of Jiraiya would be a very memorable thing and very dramatic, good drama, for this story :P

Memorable, of course it would be, everyone would be so pissed they'd have to remember.

And it's not good drama unless some new plot twist comes up, it would just be a pointless death. They won't kill him.

this chapter is all action

basically, jiraiya is really outclassing pain and then it cuts into some humorous flashbacks

at the end pain summons some more of his elite clone peepzzzz
