Any idea what chapter it's from?

Edit: I just checked all the extras that came with the manga, and there was no such picture like you described. So unless you got it somewhere else, I don't really think it was a legit picture. I did find the manga page that shows the scene that skaw posted about and his hair/eyes are exactly the same as in the anime. There's no way the akatsuki leader is the 4th.

they have it there, it's hard to see AL in the back on the right side there but that's him, I have a larger pic on my computer in the manga chapters, and that's what I'm doing now, going chapter to chapter in the late 200s cause that's where I remember seeing it :P

Green hair is green.

Thats just distortion from the holographic effect of the technique. Like a bad TV Signal.

And that's just an image of the AL, it's not really him. So he's always gray in an image but when we actually see AL in the manga he has orange hair and a goatee thingy and some spots or whatever around his nose.

Yeah, I didn't comment on his hair color, because a vast majority knows it's orange. Which should've been an indicator that he wasn't the Fourth to begin with, as he has blonde hair. Not orange. But now that we have a clean image of him, we can see his hair style is completely different from the Fourths as well, and his eye color and shape. If his eyes aren't naturally gray, why color in the pink spots?

who are you talking about anyway?

The leader of Akatsuki. A large chunk of people believe he's the Fourth Hokage, survived after sealing Kyuubi in Naruto.

Even though Sarutobi preeety much proved it's fatal.

Yeah, elemmire finally found what chapter it was in. She didn't say it was one of the chapter opennings, so I didn't look through those, only the extras included with the chapters.

Still not the 4th though.

I agree, it's not the fourth or the ridiculous "Kurenai's baby from the future" theory. It's either someone we've never seen or Uchiha Madara. Even it being Uchiha Madara seems a bit shakey cause of certain things in the manga. I wanna know more about Akatsuki members though. Like Kakuzu, Hidan, Deidara, Tobi (actually seeing if it is Obito or whoever), Zetsu, the Blue Haired person (I really hope that's a badass female :P we need more of them), and of course the leader. Shame Kakuzu and Hidan got pwned without us ever knowing what their back story was.

Well, Hidan isn't dead. My guess is Zetsu'll rescue his head, and they'll craft him a mechanical body like Tobi has for his limbs. Of which, I really do believe Tobi is Obito. They've shown a lot of his characteristics, and they match up with Obitos pretty well. Plus, Kakashi Gaiden coming right before Akatsuki starts breaking in big is pretty suspicious. Why not have made it back after the Zabuza arc, explaining why Kakashi has a Sharingan?

Of all the members though, I really want to see Zetsu in battle. Split personality ninja cyborg can only be a good thing.

Lol, there's a joke for the "Mecha Hidan" character coming into play :P that'd be funny. And I dunno, I could see it being Obito but I'd find it far more interesting if it was Rin gone insane from the death of Obito and so taking on his personality, in a way, and having maybe split personalities even. The suit Tobi had when we first saw him and then the change into the Akatsuki robe both could hide boobs if it is Rin :P and that'd be a bit more original than the "good guy thought to be dead gone bad cause of being left behind" or whatever kinda thing.

And I don't think Narutoverse has the technology in that way to make metal limbs or anything.. but probably far more like some medical technique *Shrugs* who knows... we'll just have to wait and see.

I wouldn't say it doesn't. The first movie had trains, machine guns that shot kunai, Chakra nullifying devices(both internally and externally,) and a very elaborate environment alterating machine. The second had a mobile oppression fortress, and a mechanical ship. The technology just doesn't exist in the main area of the world the story takes place. Thats not the whole universe it's based on.

Look at Full Metal Alchemist, for example. It takes place in an alternate world, set in the early 1900s. Technology is far behind the other world(ours,) yet they have completely functional mechanical prosthetic limbs and bodies.

Well I don't tend to count the movies or fillers as they aren't canon material. At least... I don't think Kishi really had anything to do with the movies.. hmm.. It would be funny to see Mecha-Hidan :P And it is an anime, so I guess anything's possible. And there was a gun actually in the canon. In one of the earlier manga chapters there's a store they enter (when Sakura's walking with the old guy during the land of waves arc) and there's a gun on the table. A rifle I think.. so they might.. hmm

In the second or third episode, team 7 is using radios with hands-free microphones. Konohamaru's team is doing the exact same thing at the beginning of Shippuuden, so they are using fairly recent technology. That's one thing that's been bugging me about the series, they seem to be living a couple hundred years ago, but every now and then there's recent technology thrown into the series. Maybe they just live without most technology for some reason.

I wouldn't say it takes place a couple hundred years ago. Konoha, atleast, has powerlines. It's likely a modeled version of Japan in the early 1900s, like FMA main cities were modeled after early 1900's Europe. Electricity is harnessed, and theres possibly modern usage of gas. When Naruto goes to Ichiraku during Itachi and Kisames first apperance, you can easily see Teuchi boiling/frying up some ramen noodles in a pot on a stove.

Well, I meant that as more of they don't seem to use anything that was invented under 100 years ago except for the radio's they use.

I always thought of Naruto as being quite post-apocalyptic.

Sound Genin wut?

Also, the good evidence for the Tobi = Obito thing is the name

It's nearly the same name. you can make Obit out of Tobi.

The creator wants us to believe that they are so far away from civilization that hardly any advances gets to the village(s). Like if you go deep into the Amazon Jungle you will not see any phones or electricity if at all.

EDIT: In the second movie Team 7 are watching a color movie and people have popcorn and candy. That surely puts the series in 1950~1970.

The movie world isn't based off of the actual series at all.

Either that, or like neg said it's a long way off from the more advanced civ.
