Couldn't he get the Mangekyu from killing Orochimaru? I mean he didn't win or lose anything by killing him unless it was for that reason so why go for great lengths to do it?

And from the manga, Madara seems more like a goofball than anything else. I'm waiting for him to become serious and show his true intentions. I think if he intended to kill Sasuke, he would have been dead a long time ago, but he seemed interested in him for one reason or another so I think there is something more to Sasuke or a the very least, Mangekyu.

If he and Orochimaru are best pals, then yes.

somehow I don't think that's the case

He would have to kill Naruto or maybe Itachi, most likely.
 
i have a feeling sasuke plays a key roll in the madara's intentions. i think that it was the madara's decision to allow sasuke to live, much as it was his persuasion to have sasuke kill naruto for greater power.

the madara is pulling them in all different directions. however, the final villain in this story will be sasuke, or a sasuke that has been possessed by the madara (probably how madara avoids the blindness and how sasuke gets the mangekyou). the final hero will be naruto.

most likely, it will be a rematch in the VotE.

And I'll bet Naruto will supress the Kyubii. Or at least that's how they'll plan it.

Actually, I'll bet Naruto is the first person to ever being able to control the Kyuubi without the use of Mangekyou.

I'm willing to bet Madara plan on having Naruto being able to fully go in to Kyuubi 9-tail state in order to control Naruto as a pet, but due to Naruto's stubbornness, having full control of the Kyuubi, and use it to kill Madara... or something.

That makes sense, considering (at least in the anime) he can control it for now up to 3 tails before going into the 'Oh shit' mode. Biggest thing now that you mention that, is that the seal on his gut isn't weakening, but was meant to merge the Kyuubi and Naruto physically together or some corny crap like that. Who the hell knows at this point?
 
the shippuden anime kinda screwed up naruto though.

in part one, naruto v. sasuke, naruto showed much better control of the 1 tailed kyuubi.

when fighting against deidera in part 2, naruto showed no control over the 1 tailed kyuubi, but instead the tails started growing in numbers.

sad to say i was disappointed that after 2 years, naruto has somehow regressed in skills, as opposed to coming back with an arsenal of better abilities.

seeing that the manga should end in another 110 chapters or so, the has to be a lot of "off screen" naruto kage bunshin haxxor training that has to happen to bring him up to the level of a potential hokage and the savior of his best friend.

for some reason i also think, in the midst of it all, sakura will be taken captive by the akatski, and they will force naruto to surrender himself for her release. perhaps that will be the setup for the final battle?
 
It should be more like Avatar, where the heroines are more powerful then the hero and main character himself.
 
I'm still betting on the Naruto gets captured and dies like Gaara did so Kakashi has to sacrifice himself to save Naruto kinda thing.

And I don't want to see the "heroine in distress" thing :| over done

but only half of the kyuubi is sealed inside of naruto so he can't draw out all of the nine tails correct?

assuming jiraiya is correct in the summoning theory which could have been by madara, madara either has the other half (dark half) of kyuubi in limbo ready to be summoned or inside him where madara can summon the dark half himself.

Leads me to believe that Madara would wont to confront naruto himself and personally assuming Tobi is Madara(pretty doubtful of that theory) and draw out the kyuubi with the statue to recomplete his summoning pet.

There's also the possiblity that another person has the other half and makes you wonder where Madara was actually when part of the kyuubi(and how it was split) was sealed and what happened to the other half and madara...

did he seal it to his own body?

released it back into its void?

Unless there are other candidates for possible jinchuuriki(sp) as not all have been revealed yet
 
From what I remember, he's only able to draw out half of his power because Jiraiya only opened the seal half-way. Now that he's dead, he sent the "key" to open it to Naruto.

I'm gonna have to do ALOT of catching up when I get the internet back at my house ;_;

I've caught up with the manga easily though. I seriously hope they put more into the Itachi vs Sasuke fight...

I'm putting this in a spoiler tag because of a lot of plot development..

Itachi tells Sasuke the back story of Madara Uchiha.

Madara had a younger brother, they both unlocked Mangekyou at the same time, and were praised as the strongest in their clan.

Over time, Madara went blind from repeated use, but his brother was conservative and did not go blind.

Desperate, Madara killed his brother in anger, and by doing this, regained his sight and has since never gone blind, and can keep Mangekyou activated 100% of the time.

Itachi hates Madara for this, and brought Sasuke to this place in order to kill him and gain the "eternal" MS just as Madara did.

Long awaited emotion from Itachi.

I wasn't expecting this at all. Very surprised, and very relieved that Itachi isn't brought out to be a good person.

But now.. how is Madara still alive? hmmm even if it's a MS that doesn't make him go blind eventually how can his body still live? Has he also learned something like Orochimaru?
 
This really is an interesting developement with the Itachi character. He's always been so calm that when I opened Tymon's spoiler I was surprised by his face! O.O Sasuke is getting his now(even thou we all know he wont lose...).

I usually do this, it's why I post summaries a few days early.
