we really don't know anything about this chapter yet, those were mistranslated several times.

we'll know tomorrow or even tonight when we get a full raw. if I knew more I would have said something by now

This chapter is the preface for an incredible revelation happening very soon: Tobi's true identity.

Tobi and Zetsu leave to go to Sasuke and Itachi, and naruto's team follows them. They arrive too late however, tobi has taken them both to an undisclosed location.

Itachi is dead, Sasuke is awake but injured badly, and his cursed seal is still gone:

For anyone saying you can't get a good view, there you go. It's gone.

Tobi tells Sasuke that he knows more about Itachi, and begins to take off his mask. Sasuke is shocked.

Next week we're going to find out who he is. is he really obito? or is he just a really fucking old madara uchiha?
 
i still want to say obito just for the sake of irony and drama

true, it's still very unlikely it could be him but I'm hoping... maybe a tragic death of kakashi by the body of his best friend?

Also, this episode confirmed that he's Uchiha Madara. At the bottom of the last page it says

Tobi/Uchiha Madara finally shows his face... and speaks of the "Truth" about Itachi?! What is Madara's plot? Next time, "Afterglow!

with his broken ability to manipulate time/space we don't know if that's his soul persay or his own body...Itachi did say that Madara was a shell of his former self for a reason, I don't think he has the same form or body he did back then when he lost to the First Hokage.
 
I really wanna know what the revelation is.. hmmm hehe.. great chapter to get the suspense up :P

is this a fucking filler coming up? Why the bloody hell does Shippuuden need fillers if it's going so slow? >.> I really don't remember these doods and their chanting in the manga at all :| AND WHERE'S THE TWO TAILED WOMAN FIGHT?! :| I want that fight at least >.> I mean, sure that temple and such is in the manga but those stupid people don't look familiar at all...

And about the manga.. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO SUIGETSU AND KISAME?! :| blah Naruto pisses me off sometimes

I'm actually glad there is filler to be honest, at least we won't have 10 minute flashbacks.

And I do agree with you about Suigetsu and Kisame, its not fair ;_;

huh? are these people part of the manga?

The author didn't give them any panels so I guess they don't exist!
 
The two-tailed fight is probably gonna get the same treatment as Tenten's first fight, too short for anything but a flashback (They're probably being lazy if you ask me since it did seem to take a while).

I bloody hope not. Though I don't really care about Tenten anyway as she's useless, bland and has no kind of back story, she's almost as bad as sasgay.

Anyways, I really like the 3rd OP. A HUGE improvement over the last story arc's OP (and the last arc in general) and definately makes a great impression of whats coming up.
 
I think Madara is just planning on jumping into Itachi's body. He probably would like Sasuke's body as a back up later. I do have a feeling Tobi gimped Itachi somehow.
 
I just wanna give props to the team that created the opening of this season of the anime. I think this is the best opening yet . . . but copied from the Superman Returns movie as Superman falls from the sky.

All the other Shippuuden openings I skip through each time I watch an episode. This opening is one I can't help but rewind and watch over and over again.

Anyway, I hope these fillers segway into the parts missing from the Manga. I mean, perhaps the anime will fill in the spots as to why Asuma was a heavy target in the bingo books, his team of "protectors", and actually show him in a fight actually worth watching before his face off with Hidan and Kakazu.

I never see Asuma and Gai use ninjitsu . . . I assume they know how. Let's hope we actually get to see some good action from this, even if it isn't completely canon.

The one eye sharingan by sasuke was actually forced by madara somehow, after taking off his mask he "invokes" amaterasu in sasuke's eye which makes him keel over in agony, then says something about how his battle with itachi was merely a "training" session

madara says sasuke knows "nothing" about itachi

there is probably more here but this is all we have for now.

My guess is that Tobi/Obito/Madara/who the fuck is this guy? wants to get Sasuke in Akatsuki seeing as how he defeated Itachi.

Madara- Founder of Akatsuki, possibly masquerading as Obito and as Tobi at the same time...
