yeah, thanks ele in any case I'm sure it's Obito, the hairstyle and the lines of the face look like him, granted that obito didn't have that when he was younger it's just a result of older age.

He looks like he's in his mid to late 30s to early 40s
 
It has to be Obito...the other side of his face isn't shown coz his eye is with Kakashi
 
hmm another random hypothesis popped into my head

Notice the eyes and the place mangekyou is appearing...(the left) where the sharigan from obito/tobi/madara is from the right...

is this nostalgic of the time rin implanted obito's eye into kakashi?

This goes back of course to my hypothesis about how kakashi obtained mangekyou, giving up the most precious item considered to the Uchiha(read: the eyes) is a sign of a true friend to their clan.

of course the difference is that obito isn't losing an eye, or is he? Assuming he is obito then no, if not then yes.

So the identity reveals as much as it confuses

The one eye sharingan by sasuke was actually forced by madara somehow, after taking off his mask he "invokes" amaterasu in sasuke's eye which makes him keel over in agony, then says something about how his battle with itachi was merely a "training" session

madara says sasuke knows "nothing" about itachi

What one-eye sharingan?
 
in the previous chapter, madara stares at itachi and talks to him, the eye facing closest to him turns into a normal sharingan eventually, it's the last chapter.

in the new one it evolves into mangekyou
 
Oh, I didn't think about that when I read it. Went back and read it again and I saw it, heh.
 
Okay! full chapter summary is up so:

397, round 2

Sasuke activates Amaterasu, is shocked at this and groans in pain

Madara tells sasuke that Itachi gave him his eyes (aka he has mangekyou now) in his last moments, and that he knows nothing about his brother.

there is literally 2 full pages of just showing sasuke's eyes

Madara never shows his full face.
 
No Naruto next week guys. I guess goldenweek is starting now.

By the way, I guess Itachi is even more badass now as he is trying to save Sasuke now from Madara ^_^ Itachi is the greatest =)

It's still puzzling

He's Uchiha Madara but who's body is he in now? If he's a "shell of his former self" according to Itachi.

Also will sasuke's eyes begin to fade? he still has his own eyes right?

this chapter was interesting. Itachi might now actually be a good guy? looking forward to this one.

Golden Week is like the japanese's 4th of july. And Itachii was good all this time??? lol~infinity
 
Sasuke isn't the most powerful character in the series now.

We don't even know if he has control of mangekyou yet, and even if he does, it seems he lost his cursed seal, which takes away a HUGE advantage he's had for almost the entire manga.
 
So far, it is just stated that his Mangekyou is a self defense measure against Tobi...I personally don't think he can control it yet
 
and eventually he'll go blind from using it even in self defense...still wondering if he obtained itachi's eyes somehow, although I severely doubt that

Maybe Madara did the transfer operation before Sasuke woke up. He took both bodies from the battlefield and Sasuke bleeded from one eye. The hints are there.
 
going out on a limb here....but I think the reason Itachi lost because he had a fight with madara awhile back and fled while wishing to speak with naruto. Hence madara wasn't suprised when itachi lost(he did something to Itachi? besides weaken him).

My only question is why Kisame agreed in helping if the above is correct?
 
I thought it was because all the attacks inflicted on Madara were taken by Itachi.

My guess is that Madara can somehow use the Uchiha clan members who have obtained Mangekyou. It could explain how he can control Obito's body and why Itachi killed off all his clan, but not how he gained Obito's body or why.
 
that would make a lot of sense with Itachi gauging Sasuke's potential and why he left him alive, he wants the stronger person to take out Madara so in either scenario Itachi wins.

As for the wounds, your reason is the most likely but I think there was a fight as well before Sasuke's Showdown.
