I can see it now. Just as Sasuke and the rest of his team get into position to take on all of the leaf... *poof* Kishimoto pops into frame only to take out his house keys, jingle them like you would infront of a 1 year old, and then we're ret-con'd to 2 years back in the story when Akatsuki was still part of the plot.

Now thats goooood storytelling.

what's funny here is that, Itachi isn't exactly an angel either but people like him even though while he was in Akatsuki and had a good intention he wasn't really a saint either with helping and assisting in numerous crimes against humanity and the jinchuuriki.

I usually agree with you, but I am gonna have to say no, remember that Itachi knows that Naruto has the Nine-tails, and he always says the Nine-tails is mine alone blah blah etc etc. Think about it, he was still saving shit heads face by making them leave Konoha/Naruto alone.

conversely he indirectly allows akatsuki to pursue others as well, not really something noteworthy as far as viewing people in equality(read: the jinchuuriki), as far as anime progression goes yes this is important and necessary since most didn't stand a chance against him.

itachi is morally ambigious, most likely because of what he's done and due to the fact that he brainwashed his brother into an avenger to redeem his convoluted and mix of good and bad-deed.

I think forgiveness was possible for Itachi, but itachi chose the more extreme road, why? If his brother knew the truth and the villiage majority then it would most likely have a different outcome.

in response to what K Ishi wrote:

True itachi lets other people get harmed, but thats what a double agent has to deal with and the pain of the life they live. Look at double agents in mobs or gangs, they have to kill other people or watch other people get tortured for the sake of the greater good. If Itachi ever did anything to stop Akatsuki, it would be spread around that he tried to do something "good" potentially jeoperdizing Sauke. Madara himself says that Itachi could kill anyone and anything but not his own brother.

Sasuke on the other hand, plays a very realistic character. Imagine, if your brother killed your whole family, would you not have a built up hatred towards killing him? then imagine after killing him to find out he was actually a good person protecting you and sacrificed his own honor, character and life in order to protect you. If anything, I feel as if Sasuke is now going after Konoha/Danzo as a way of restoring his brother's honor and revealing the truth behind Konoha. Im trying to think from Sasuke's POV and i sure as hell wouldnt be able to live it down that a country ruined my brother despite him volunteering to do so. Sure Itachi volunteered but he was more or less left with no real choice.

What i see happening perhaps is Sasuke and Naruto PERHAPS somehow working together. Regardless, Naruto somehow becomes Hokage somehow lol.

i agree completely, and it explains my point of why people should consider itachi a saint, when he himself has done shameful things, true he did it for a greater purpose but that doesn't excuse the action itself.

Sasuke shares similar qualities which is why i think they're somewhat alike and that Itachi wouldn't share a strong grudge on sasuke for destroying konoha

K Ishi...

i guess the best parallel to draw would be to relate Itachi to the crusades. Thousands of people were killed in the name of Christianity yet people seldom look at that. At the same time, a double agent working for the good of everyone does indeed make Itachi a saint of sorts. He sacrificed his life and honor for the good of the people, and often times its the end result that justifies the means in many ways.

on a side note: im personally NOT looking forward to this final fight of Sasuke and Naruto. Naruto is lame, i hate his fighting style (or lack thereof). Sasuke at least is interesting because none of his fights are really the same, sure there is sharingan usage and also some chidori, but man.... that lightning blast thing was something entirely different. Whereas Naruto for the past while has been shadow clone spam > rasengan > new rasengan. Rasengan is SO overused to the point its lame. I wish hed use the frog.

whcih leads me to:
is the frog (Gamabunta) not strong? Because I'm surprised Naruto never uses him more since Gamabunta could simply step on people lol =)

Blasphemy! Naruto is 100x better as he isn't a crying little emo faggot (No doubt that'll be censored but idc) and he actually has awesome abilities.

actually the crusades and their conquest for religion was a front hiding imperialism, but i think that's where our thoughts tend to diverge there

there's a belief and a difficult one to accept at times that haraam for halaal is still haraam. basically the ends don't justify the means.

i'm not saying that itachi is a bad person, but he really isn't someone to be praised nor frowned upon because it was still his choice and his to live with even though it wasn't in the best of circumstances.

itachi's power seems as kishi draws it to be, limitless could he have not been able to protect konoha after the uchiha rebellion from war or emerged as a neutral party and regulate a sort of negotiation between the two since itachi was the key element in the mission and the necessary ingredient to either overthrowing konoha or stopping the rebellion. He could have easily became a leader...maybe hokage.

that's all i'm saying, madara goes to describe as someone who hated war maybe his naiveness got in the way, he only delayed it since sasuke is taking kup what itachi may have done if he did not do what he did. I'm not sayin as well that the other routes were easy ones as well of course but it's not so simple as it seems.

I am also worried about naruto he has no formal or effective fighting style while sasuke is refined...i seriously hope naruto is refined although the time spent on it would be short unless there's another year or two arc.

Well, Itachi might have been a genius and all of that, but he was pretty god damned stupid if he did not foresee Madara taking this opportunity to turn Sasuke against Konoha.

Can't help but feel that its either a plot hole, or Itachi has planned something else to stop Madara.

Naruto's style is just the way it needs to be - unpredictable (to a certain extent). Sasuke's "refined" style is in itself a weakness, since such a style is more easily countered (in some cases) than someone like Naruto is more likely to pull out an unexpected move considering his resources, although you wouldn't think of it looking at him.

As already noted by Tymon I believe, Sasuke failed to win more than 2 matches after receiving the Cursed Seal which was supposed to make him more powerful...

Sasuke and Itachi are nothing alike in my eyes. Yes they both have committed evil actions, however at least one of them was doing it for a 'good' purpose (protecting his younger brother). The other does it only for himself with no regard for anyone else. That is why I like Itachi and hate Sasugay. (Yes I know it's been said before but still...)

The last bit of tears he had near the end of that chapter might be the last humane sign we see of Sasuke. I think we will definetly see a whole new Sasuke and Naruto is going to be the one to stop him or help him. I still feel bad for the kid and we need more details to see what happens.

I pointed that out actually, cause I hate sasuke so much I like to show how much he really fails <3

Although admittedly now that I think about it, maybe he'll IMPROVE now that it's gone... But if he is seriously going to kill people who weren't related to the incident as part of his new resolve (it's far too early to tell, and in my mind it can be slightly ambiguous if he intends to completely annihilate Konoha, or just those in charge) then that's it for me, Sasuke is far past gone and I'd rejoice if he died. If not, then he better start joining a monastery in repentance.

Naruto can't fully control Gamabunta to my knowledge since he's a Boss Summon and a step above normal summoned monsters (not to mention he has to rely on the Kyuubi chakra, which corrupts him). Sasuke forced control over Mando... and damn, I liked that guy.

I hope the 2 elders are pretty strong like the elder from the Sand. Make it a really bad ass fight like her and Sakura had.

See, this is where Tsunade dies...

Sakura hates him EVEN more? falls for someone else...(not Naruto, he is Hinatas) end of that love story

Ino (Falls for choji ¬¬ XD)

Naruto...Kills sasuke, gets key, annihilates Akatsuki and becomes Fourth

Kakashi becomes advisor to Naruto so does Iruka...

Kishimoto has hinted at Sakura falling in love with Naruto.

Spoiler:

Chapter 297, pages 10, 11 and 12.

sasuke's goal was aimed for good, cleansing the clan of the "scoundrel" who ruined it all, until he found out the truth, the truth itself was beyond his reach at any point or stage before he killed itachi.

also I think sasuke will kill naruto actually, at least the way I think the story is going to end...

Well, they were the Thirds squadmates under the First, so I don't think they'd be bottom of the barrel chumps.
