DBZ can be split into 2 parts, Audio and Video

Audio=Suck
Video=Very nice

Most Anime is the same way IMHO. There are few exceptions. Princess Mononoke is one, and it even has chessiness to it.

Oh well, at least we haven't had anything as bad as Speed Racer since, well, Speed Racer...

The unnessecarily long story points and preperation for the action. Ofcourse, this only occurs before the Cell Saga, and only time after that point is during the Buu Saga with Goku going 3.


But yeah. Namek/Frieza Saga is so lame and suckfilled until the end. Even then, the end is also drawn out unnecessarily. You know, the whole last 5 minutes until the planet explodes occupying FOUR EPISODES.
 
I also thought it kinda sucked how it was like "wow super saian (sp?) thats like the ultimate power...but its a legend" then they get it...then its on to mark 2 then mark 3...i'm just waiting for mark 8.

Also if they are this powerful then they really should be destroying the world with their fights...anyone notice how despite them increasing their power levels 500000% or so they still do the exact same amount of damage to the surroundings, and desipte the fact that a nuclear missle that would wipe out the earth would not phase them those huge blasts which must obviously more powerful only break a few rocks...

I'm aware its not supposed to be real and that destroying the world while fighting to save it would kinda screw up the storyline (although would be rather ironic) but in DBZ it reaches the point of stupid really.

That and the whole 4 episodes for a "5 minute" fight were the annoying things.

Despite all this though i do actually like DBZ...but you wanted me to point out the stupid and the suck so i have.
 
eh... I don't really get mad about stuff like this.. Since, well, I see a whole series like a year or two before they air in the US. I mean lets face it... I would love if they kept all the series subtitled. I think most people would too. I've never really cared for Cartoon Network's poor voice casting in the past either. I turn out disliking the show for that reason :\ We'll see how it turns out, can't knock it until I've seen anything, no?

it's an awesome fight between Gaara (the guy with the jug on his back) and Brock Lee (the guy in green). It was only about 2 episodes long in this tournament thing.

Anyways, I will watch Naruto dubbed only to see how badly they butcher it. Lately, I've been losing interest in the series due to the months of bad filler.... but what the hell.
 
whatever XD I always think of Bruce Lee and his kid and Brandon Lee and then with Rock Lee I'm so used to the "Lee" starting off with a name with a B XD my bad. Even though it'd prolly be Lee Rock if they put it first name first :D

One piece was raped horribaly... One of the charachters Sanji smokes 24/7, in the 4kids version it is a lolipop... One piece really is a good show in the original JPN, as was Naruto before they got to this current filler arc.

I fully exect Naruto to be ruined, the voice acting alone is going to suck but when cartoon network gets done editing it... They are better then 4kids granted, but jesus will it be edited.

/points to the 5 minutes it would take namek to explode being no less then 8 episodes.

/points to the Bu saga.

/points to Hercule.

/points to all the editing they did in the US version.

/points to the fact that the whole power ranking system is just plain retarded in the fact that each enemy they encounter is the most powerful force in the universe, yet no one has heard of them before this point, and next week a new more incredibele power will decide to come kick earth'ss ass.

/points to the fact that every single saga involves some bad guy kicking goku's friends ass as they wait for him, he comes whips out some new super saiyan form and bam wins.

on anouther topic similar though what about this stupid frensh director that so far hads completely mocked great games like house of the dead, alone in the dark, blood raine, and soon to be doom by his horrible directing. Now doom had no movie hopes but the other 3 could be made into great boxoffice movies.

Actually the reason they've been doing so much filler is to let the manga stay ahead of the anime. The other alternative to doing filler is to just stop making naruto episodes for a couple months.

Also, the filler arcs have been pretty good so far, they've filled in some holes about earlier series and they're leading into the plot of the manga better. Rather than just say "ok, we're going off for 3 years to train" then "We're back!" They're progressing the plot by providing more information for the viewers.

But yeah, I'm fully confident that the dubs are going to suck. The voice for naruto is a woman, who's range has not included many(if any) male characters. And yes, I know that a lot of male characters are voiced by women in the japanese versions, but in the dubs, it's probably going to clearly sound like a woman. At one point, narutofan had a sound clip where someone said "what is this?" from one of the commercials, and it's supposed to be naruto's voice. I'm hoping it's not his voice(maybe Sakura or Ino), because again, it was obviously NOT a male voice.
 
A woman can prolly do a voice for a kid fine.. look at the Simpsons. Bart's voice actor is a woman. I still have faith that they might pull it off. Hell.. look at Cowboy Bebop. Their voice actors pwned!

Skaw's right though, dragonball Z turned to crap pretty fast. It would have been best if it ended right after the Frieza saga. Goku became the "ultimate warrior" so the fact that there were so many new people that made him look weak(after beating Frieza) was retarded.

Along with the fact that it took 5 episodes to cover 5 minutes of the timeline in the anime, half the actual time of the anime was spent reviewing the previous episode's 10 seconds of new information and previewing the next episode.

DBZ is a staple, one you have to see, but just like Neon Genesis Evangelion, not everyone is going to like it.
 
DBZ was ok.. but ya, should have ended MUCH earlier. DBGT was an interesting "twist" and a bit more fast paced. And just to let people know.. yes I do know Cartoon Network didn't dub Cowboy Bebop >.> they did some good editting of it.. though they shouldn't have ever, really.
