Nazis in the QC

Hahah, believe what you want. You're as ignorant as I am about the people on those LSes. I had a few old friends get their friends to come own the shit out of that thing and then I hopped onto an even bigger group that was going to go do it. So my friends + their friends + more people doing the same fight = Fun time for all.

Anymore questions douchebag?

:D

Not really, just good luck in FF buddy.

yup.. but it isn't "YOU CAN NOT HAVE NO OTHER LS" it seems.. but a "if you aren't doing anything with that other shell we want you in this shell"

Theres an exception for shells that do things DoD can't, like Dynamis, HNMs, and such.

When you have friends in RL and this game, you don't need luck.

I make my friends my own way. Not through some childish rule of "One LS only". What are we in? A relationship? What is this? A religion?

Seriously people. Loosen up for fuck's sake.

You having been in the same LS for 70 levels, I'm sure you've seen enough of what I was talking about. Even your time in BoL, you have probably seen enough of what I'm talking. Now personally I went strictly to Sora, but I remained active on the Arcane Garden boards, and let them know that only a /tell was needed for me to come help them out. My mule had an AG pearl, and I did all of my cooking/crafting on that shell.

Good reputation doesn't carry as far as bad reputation, so you have to reprove yourself to that end game LS. They aren't going to know you are always available to them if you skat right after farming or doing gods. They are going to figure your out doing stuff with your other LS. And people wonder why the leaders, and the people the leaders are close to get all the gear. You want the answer? CAUSE THEY ARE ALWAYS IN THE SHELL WHEN SOMETHING POPS UP TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear ya and yep I agree. I understand whole-heartedly the frustrations with people jumping from shell to shell asking for help, it is a frustration of mine also, and alas I dont approve of it. I just see alot of people that are becoming of age of end-game being asked to leave thier shells that have supported them through the majority of the game. I can totally relate with not wanting to leave that shell behind.
And on a different light also, I feel having people in these "social" shells provides a good way to recruit people for end-game.

That said I basically agree with you on all your points. Social LS vs. End-game LS is a touchy subject.

The rule is definatly one i dont agree with.(one ls) if it means i cant even log to my other pearl for a few and say hi to some of my good buddys in orginised anarchy i.e Tepedant . I dont get to see him that often and when i do i dont want to have to keep typing /tell tepedant before every comment to them, so i may hang on their ls for a little while but im back to main one most of time as well as late at night .
When i can be on ffxi DoD is usally empty the other night there was two people in it stanimal and stanimalJr im sorry im not going to sit there and talk to myself when its like that if your going to make an LS one shell rule there should be dedicated people that will always be there
Now romper may have been going about it a little rash or fail to meet a viable arguement by comparing to Nazi's ,but he is not a LS hopper he doesnt only ask for help then swap shells. If he is on and at all possiable to help anyone he will, same goes for me while i may still be a lowly noob if there is something i can help with i would be glad to but there are friends in game that either have their own LS made or part of their own LS and it is rediculous that for this purpose we cant switch for a little bit.
I understand the rule and the multiple comments of ITS THE RULES DONT EXCEPT THE PEARL IF YOU DONT AGREE i think that comment is crap becuase the rule while understanably needed for people like Caddar that was a flaming noob hopper it shouldnt be imposed on people simply try to stay in touch with friends

Hypocrisy if I've ever fucking heard it. Why do you need people in your shell? Whats wrong with sending a tell to someone containing "Hey buddy, whats up!"

It's hard work getting people through their shit. I don't blow Hi-Potions and Experience points so other people can fuck me and my friends by leaving and going elsewhere. Once you get to the end of the game Juniour, you'll fucking realize how much of a pain in the ass it is.

Being paranoid doesn't make you a Nazi.Elitism is closer to nazi-sm though.. where the idea is to get rid of the feeble minded ones

I am new to Dreamers of Dawn... and my friend (he invited me to the ls) told me the rules and all... Romper, I think I know how you feel >.<; I saw you were happy with this ls, too bad it had to ended that way... Though I don't like the idea of people feeling stalked <.< and then the members telling others you're in another ls, like if you commited a sin, without letting people explain the situation >.> If a ls wants to keep their members close, as a family, I doubt that is the correct way to do it... I don't know, that's just my opinion ^^; I like the they help, you help-rule though. ^^

You're not a nice person in general but I agree with you 100%.. I have an LS I'm in with my fiance and a few close friends.. all I ask is that they are in it unless they are doing an event with something we can't do. (Endgame/Testiment Hunting/some BCNM)
It's pretty crappy to spend 50+ hours and die 5+ times helping someone.. to look the next day and see them in some other LS getting more done.......
I admit, I own 2 pearls soon to be three.
The close friends LS
a Social LS (only used if no one is on main LS.. only 6 total members....)
an event LS (ONLY on for events, no other time)

Stick to one social ls people ._. saves you arguements and looking as bad as Romp does now

I still have my Valkyrs pearlsack, if they ever move their farming/god kills to a better schedule, or I get a different job, I could come back. And no, I didn't leave after I had gotten all I needed. I still needed a Kirin's Pole.

I'm not Miisha, dropping the day I got my Osode. I simply stopped showing up because it was pointless for me to with such a schedule conflict. I found that out the night I had to log out early because I was feeling real sick, and wasn't credited as being there for farming.

To Add: You also don't see me running around in another sky shell. Valkyrs is my sky shell, despite my lackluster attendance for the last 11 months. I won't join another. I'm in Nameless for HNMs, but I don't do Gods with Rawr, and I won't.

Ahhhh.........but some people still show up when they can. Even if just for a night a week, or a couple of hours during a night a week. And a lot of the people that helped you get that gear are still around kicking and helping other people as well. I don't buy your excuse when I see you kicking around AH after I get back to town from a item hunt.

There are other reasons that I don't want to get in to here. Ask Ryme about them, she's tried more than anyone else to get me back in. I know a lot of the old people are still there, I was an original member too. I wouldn't have left if I didn't find my being there pointless. I was a drain on others gil cuts seeing as how I was innefficiently used during fights, most of the time I would have been doing the same thing if I just stood around with my party flag up.

Sounds to me like an excuse, people always let conflict get to them moreso when they already have the things they need. Nobody ever says "Well jeez, I can't participate anymore so I'll hand back my Osode to another member who can."

But back onto the subject at hand...

We have two completely correct potential opinions on the matter of how an LS should be run.

1. An LS should relax and let people come and go as they please, afterall, it's a game. People should try and have fun not treat it as a job.

2. If an LS member expects help they should be willing to put it forth as well. If people come and go as they please, never giving up help and no rules, how can you efficiently spend time and help people.

The answer is... use some damn common sense. There is more than one shell in the universe, if #2 is not the way for you, then join a shell that believes in #1. Don't join a #2 shell because you know you'll get help easier and then exclaim #1 to be your point of view. There are literally hundreds of #1 shells out there for you. A #2 shell however much more appropriately prepares you for the harsh realities of endgame, where you realize exactly why if you for example want a Kirin Osode you need a lot of dedication.

Let's say 30 people go to farm pop items, kill gods and kill Kirin. Maybe of those 30 people, 15 at one point will want an Osode for one job or another.(the percentage is perpetually increasing as more and more jobs are leveled) If you're not willing to be present for those 15 Osode drops, which could require maybe 40 Kirin kills, meaning farming full god sets 40 times and killing each god 40 times, you have not earned your Osode. Maybe you do half if it, you get your Osode, now you may have been the most deserving of an Osode but it doesn't mean you actually earned it completely. That's why assholes who do shit like get the first coffer key and then never help others with their AF should get bad reputations, because when you factor half of the people who get an Osode never wind up putting in those 40 kirin fights, it simply means the others wind up having to do SIXTY Kirin fights before getting their own Osode. It's basic math, want to earn your sky gear? Figure the number of people present in your sky LS at any given farming run / god killing, multiply by how long it takes for the item to drop, and figure out how much time really earns your sky gear. Forget about all those people who are helping just for the sake of helping. You'll see that the odds are, when you get help with something you really do owe quite a big debt. And when you realize how many people get their gear and don't put forth that effort you'll see the resulting frusteration resulted.

rihgt now I have 3 LSs, but they are social only. I only do stuff with Bigfunn.
the other LSs I sometimes go to when I want to talk to ppl. I never ask for help. yeah you can call me a LS hopper, but im on Bigfunn 85% of the time and only them I do events with them. People who hop LSs asking for help are asses, but not the ones who only log on t other LSs to talk.

That is, in my opinion, what every social shell should be like. If the members of your social shell think someone is going to leech help for their AF / ranks / etc, then don't help them. These leeches are usually pretty easy to identify.

Any social shell that demands people keep their pearl equipped 90% of the time has a pretty skewed vision of 'social'. There's a bunch of people in my LS who hop around to other shells, and they have every right to. Sometimes you don't feel like talking to some people in one social shell, or there's nothing really happening so you jump to another social shell.

People join social shells so that they can BS while they do their daily tasks. The bonus, of course, is a list of names you can call on when you need a hand and subsequently a list of names to reply to when they need a hand. If you can't walk both ways on that street, your gameplay experience will be less enjoyable. Friends & teams are a necessary aspect of this game; without them, you're fucked.

Forcing people to stay in your shell with bribes of promised help is pretty lame. I know that isn't explicitly what the OP is talking about (and I'm not referring to any LS in particular), but it's a gyst I'm getting from some of these posts. Personally I've always been inclined to help only people I know or people I know are respectable, but that's part of the asshole in me and I can see why a lot of people who will help anyone would get frustrated with leechers.

Social shells are about having fun with people you get along with. End-game shells are about getting pimp gear & titles with people you get along with. A dozen brain cells and an ounce of respect is all it takes to know if you can manage being a member of both.

I don't get how they are nazis because they kicked you out of a shell...

If they say they want you to keep the pearl on you whenever you're not doing LS events, you have to respect that rule. Otherwise you might aswell drop the pearl.

They didn't say, at any point, "You are not allowed to have any friends!". And if they did, why flame them? You should be glad to leave in that case.

There's other ways to talk to friends, through /tells as an example. You didn't HAVE to accept the LS your friend gave you, and IF you had (as in he forced you), he's a bad friends and you're left with a choice.

1) stay in your current LS
2) leave your current LS
3) talk to your current LS and see if you can eork anything out.

In all honesty, it's wrong of you to call them nazis because they kicked you out... I'm sure you don't call your boss a nazi when he fires you (well, maybe you do, but that doesn't make him a nazi).

They are nazis because they enforced a rule he was told when he first joined.

Yes its a bad rule in many peoples eyes, but it was a rule set forth by the leaders, and the members must follow said rule, or leave the shell.
