Xbox360 Netflix takes a hit already

The issue here is that she isn't paying the same amount for a lesser product. If she had a netflix subscription as well but couldn't use this feature, then yes, she would. Gold membership doesn't entitle you to utilize the netflix stream. A Netflux membership does.

The specific issue isn't that Canada is getting screwed over. Therefore no one is debating who is at fault there, because nobody cares. Rather it's that the Canadian customers aren't being warned of the fact that they're getting screwed over. All regions don't have a right to be treated equally, though it'd certainly be nice, but they all have a right to know what they're getting.

All the Sony movies available on Netflix are now available through the 360's Netflix as well.

Well, most of them are now available. A few -- Superbad was the one mentioned in a blog post I read -- are still out of your Xbox's reach.
