Announcement New Chatbox

I wasn't too thrilled with the older chatbox that we had, so I found another one that has a bit more options to it. The other chatbox is simply disabled for now so if there's enough people that don't like the new one it can be changed back.

Yes, I'm aware the enter text is in french and I'm tired. Please play around with it and let us know what you think.

As per the norm, only registered users of the site will have access to view and use the chatbox. Those users who are part of the <10 posts and unregistered users will not enjoy those privelages.
 
I saw the new one and it seems like the old one came back. I don't know. lol
 
The new one was taken down for now. There are a few kinks that need to be worked out. For some reason it's not staying collapsed when clicked on the "-" and the option to /pm people isn't working properly.
 
It will be back...I promise. The functions of that new chatbox are too awesome to pass up.

I'm not sure about smart phones, but I'm fairly certain you can choose different colours. I just need to get the thing updated so it will allow you too. I've gotten some kinks out and now we are able to "/tell" people and admins are allowed to create private chat rooms based on a usergroup which makes me pretty damn happy.
 
I've been running some tests with the chatbox and with the help of the Honorable Tonberry/Moogle users I've been able to get some more information. Here's some fun stuff to know about the new chatbox when it's activated for regular user ... use.

  1. Ability to "/tell" a user by clicking on the drop down next to their name.
  2. Allow extra functions in the chatbox such as a /slap, /me and /ignore addition for added fun!
  3. Ability to edit your own chatbox "posts".
  4. Ability to have "hidden" chatbox channels based on a users specific usergroup.

Now, there are some snags that I'm currently looking into fixing as well since I know there are some of us who would prefer to be chatboxless. Those issues currently are:

  1. "Remembering" when a user collapses so on every page load the chatbox STAYS collapsed instead of re-opens.
  2. Keeping private message tabs open even on refresh.

I've messed with a couple of the settings and figured out how to fix some of the issues that are there. One is still bugging me, but I did want to bring this up so people could know the option was there.

  1. "Remembering" when a user collapses so on every page load the chatbox STAYS collapsed instead of re-opens. - You can actually turn off the chatbox altogether through your user control panel. Settings -> General Settings.
  2. Keeping private message tabs open even on refresh. - Waiting to hear from this...

Oh I've been meaning to ask if there's a way to change the date to time or date and time like the old chat box because as of right now it's just the date :(
 
New one is only available to the tonberry/moogle usergroup for testing.

For real, it got large and unwieldy. Also it still scrolls in the wrong direction.
