New Expansion announced: Wings of the Goddess

fight in the the crystal war [yes please]

that would fucking rock

Totally agree, almost looks like, well bare with me here, the dynamis areas are an alternate dimension if the dynamis lord wins, maybe this is an alternate dimension if we had won the crystal war? hmmmmmm looking forward to this.

hehe I was planning on quitting in a month or so, this has repeaked my interest

im thinking more along the lines of during a mission in the beginning we get hurled 20+ years into the past

time jumping =) thats what im thinkin

either way time to take my ass out to finish ToAu and Zilart.

Ok me and some friends were talking about this last night. My theory on this is. We will actually step back in time. Much like CoP there will be some way to warp back in time back to the Crystal War. SE thus far has provided us AMPLE of information regarding the past. perhapes there wil be besiged syle events with the old beastmen ? Maybe we get to vist the real Tavnazia! Or visit the Riverne Site before it became air born. Also with this I think not only will the new areas be rebuilt(or never destroyed yet), which ever you prefer. But the mobs levels will be much higher. Giving the upper level more places to level. I just dont see how they can implement this into the Zilart/Original FFXI. There is a lot they can do with this, I think this is a great move on SE part, I highly doubt news jobs will be introduced, think of this as Zilart > CoP.

I still don't think its DURING the crystal war, but rather, before it. "A tale long lost" refrers to a forgotten part in history me thinks. Something that happened before the crystal war

Yea, definately. Perhapes the events leading up to it? I can just imagine it now, "Where can I party 60 - 65? (WoA - Jugner Forest)"
. Maybe Castle Oztroja is a Level 75 area lol. Or Xarcabard is a Merit zone.

I really, REALLY hope its high-level focused content. With hopefully some actually hard missions.

I wouldn't mind alliance based missions

I really like the time traveling idea. It never crossed my mind before.
Some ideas though:
*It could take place well before the Crystal War, when the nations were still divided amongst eachother
-If this is true, this means Jeuno will still be a fishing village, and we may see Maat at a young age, among other things
-The walls being heavily fortified, especially in areas like Pashhow where there aren't walls, makes me think this
*An alternate dimension, where something had changed the in the past that caused time to split into two pieces
-Again, the wall in Pashhow is bugging the shit out of me, as I don't think we've even seen debris of the damn thing before.
*The big wall. What about it? Is it a new area, or something else?
*You think the expansions will stack? Like, to visit past Tavnazia you gotta have CoP installed? Not something I'd suspect, just something that crossed my mind. If this is true, we could see a past version of Aht Urhgan. Although happening so soon after the release of ToAU, I doubt this.
*It's already been proven that some shots are of old areas being renewed, or the past look of old areas. If you haven't noticed it, it's the shots of old areas, followed by some kind of distortion on the shot, then a shot of the new areas.
*The comet. Too many shots of it hanging in the background to rule it as insignificant. I don't think it's the comet in the opening movie, as they summoned that rather quickly.
-This kinda supports ideas that this happened before the Crystal War. Maybe a threat that they had to extinguish long before the Shadow Lord became a true threat.
*And speaking of Shadow Lord! If this DOES take place during the Crystal War, we may see the original Shadow Lord before the galka become the new one.
*Also, I believe that this expansion will be aimed at all levels. Might even have level caps like CoP. ToAU's focus was high-level, and they added a lot of stuff for high level players to experience. Maybe this time they'll aim the expansion back at all levels of players.

There's so many ideas that could come up now. One thing is certain though.
ToAU's storyline will probably be completed within the coming months. Hopefully the opening of The Pit!

Caverns of time eh?

Oh shit, wrong game.

Abquhbah laid out Naja in one punch! I never knew he had it in him! He never stood up to Naja in his life!

.....Never?!

We already did win the crystal war, that's why we have to go to an alternate dimension to see what would happen if the shadow lord won.

If this does indeed take us back before the Crystal War somehow, Windurst, Sand'Oria and Bastok will still be at war with each other...

Could we see open PvP zones with this expansion?

Who thinks that Palborough, Davoi and Giddeus will all be nation owned again?? (idk about giddeus, did taru ever really inhabit that place? The Yagudo were on friendly terms with the taru before, so maybe it was always theirs)

As well as having Garlaige, Eldieme, Oztroja and etc. fully restored and nation owned

You mean Palborough, Ghelsba and Giddeus? I think Ghelsba and Palborough will be in the nation's hands, but Giddeus and Oztroja were Yagudo-built. The Citidel would probably either not have been built or would be near the point of siege depending on the time this is set in, and I think Eldieme was always a rotten tomb.

yeah Ghelsba.. But davoi was also nation owned, wasnt it? Could be wrong there.

And now I remember, oztroja was built so that the taru couldnt get help from other nations, iirc from the history things SE used to release

No, he meant Davoi. Davoi was an elvaan sanctuary iirc. You can tell from the church in the middle of the island and the priests that are still there in present time.
