Wings of the Goddess areas allow for a few more options in transportation - generally still somewhat slower than OP/tele + choco, but worth considering on occasion. Arguably most useful for getting from a starter city to another starter city if you don't have the newbie region OPs (or in Bastok's case, even if you do, since the OP is so far from town).
Also, on the subject of WotG, Campaign in general lends itself to easy, self-paced, solo (though you *can* party) buffering, rebuffering, or meriting. And once a job's high enough to survive in Campaign, you can even use it for levelling (and seek party while you're doing so). You get decent exp from it, although you'll still get better exp in a non-crappy party.
Getting Captain rank in Assault means free runic portals and free Alzadaal entry (although having a Salvage pass does that too). Need to beat all 50 non-Nyzul Assaults, as well as the ToAU missions, to get Captain though. Beating all 51 Assaults (for Nyzul, you just have to clear any set of 5 floors, you don't have to get the 100-floor win or anything) also has the Assault tag NPC hang on to an extra tag for you - but this isn't too useful for people who go twice a week. (Nice for once a week people though, you get 5 runs instead of 4.)
If the Chocobo Circuit is new to you, then the Coliseum probably is as well. In a nutshell it's very similar to Pokemon. Capture the image of a monster, teach it abilities, make it fight for you.
Few job changes here and there, notably recent updates making 2-handed weapons more viable (at first, they overdid it, so 2-handers painfully outclassed 1-handers; now, they're *approximately* balanced: weaker than when they were OP, but stronger than originally). No other significant job overhauls that I recall, although WHM did get a very nice divine-based (read: high base skill) spell equivalent to Sleep 2 (called Repose).
And of course there are the new jobs. Dancer in particular is very popular (and generally considered quite fun to play), though its ultimate usefulness at 75 is somewhat more debateable. Galkas have been known to cause minor earthquakes. Scholar is somewhat less popular, though it has several interesting applications when subbed, and has some ridiculously powerful DoT spells at high levels.
