New FMA Anime - Dub cast announced. Thanks Funi!!! =)

Okay.. just watched episode 4. They really are speeding things up a tad. They completely took out a whole episode and replaced it with a simple report that was briefly mentioned. Plus Basque Gran's death was very quick.. granted a little more exciting to watch than the original and equally as anti-climatic I suppose. But damn, it's only the 4th episode and so much has happened already. Craziness. You really don't quite get the same sense of loss from Nina as you do in the original anime. It feels much more rushed, so it isn't nearly as sad.

This bugs me.

One of the things I loved about the first series was how it could wrench my heart and bring me to tears at the sad scenes. I'm just not feeling it with the second series yet. Nina's death was suppose to be something of profound sadness. I feel like they didn't really let you get to know Nina. She was just a cute little girl with a few scenes in this episode. Not really enough to build a character relationship off of though.

Then the new fans should definitely check out the first FMA series. >_> No reason not to.

I would not agree, really. The two shows are day and night, at least to me. I hated the first series, but I'm actually enjoyin' this new take, for the time bein'.

Wonder if Youkis story will still be shown after this weeks episode.

Anyone know what the deal is with the new FMA? I haven't seen a new episode since 7 yet, been a few weeks I believe..

They're still releasing them, 9 came out last week. 10 should be out in a day or so.

Oh.. well that blows, the last episode up on the site I've been using (that you showed me) is only episode 7.

I don't remember which one I showed you, but I'll PM you the one I'm using that stays up to date.

It seems like they are moving extra fast to me lately. The series is still fabulous, but I am kinda wondering why they cut out a lot of the whole Dublith arc. Kinda upset that they cut out the Armstrong flexing scene and Bradley yelling at him for not killing chimera guy.

I feel like they're going to catch right up to manga at any rate. Manga is in its 90's for chapters? The anime has to be about mid 30's in comparison right now.

Next episode will be the start of manga only content in the new anime series.

D: I don't see Christopher Sabat in that lineup! I want my Alex Louis Armstrong to reprise his role!

It's also kind of a shame the kid that did Alphonse the first time isn't doing him again. I think he did a great job, but I suppose his voice has probably changed too much for him to sound like he used to.

That's basically the story in full lol. Puberty caught up with him and he'll now be forced to voice 20+ y/o characters for the rest of his career^^

So I've been watching this anime on hulu and I'm definitely loving it. However if there's one thing that set the first one apart from this one was the music. I loved the music from the first series.

I'm loving this as well but I've never seen the first series. It must be good because I think these tracks are amazing.

Sabat really loved doing Armstrong. Unless they tell him he can't do it, I don't see him not reprising his role.

Thank god they got rid of the guy doing Alphonse. I hated his dub voice.

I managed to watch the U.S. debut of this last night. First episode. My impressions are that it was pretty good. Not sure how edited it was because it was on television, but I was happy with what I watched.

I watched quite a few of the japanese episodes, but only up to like episode 8 or 9 and then the site I used to watch them stopped hosting FMA: BH for some reason and I never caught up with it.

I have to say, I was actually quite surprised with the voice of Alphonse. He almost sounds dead on like the original voice actor even though he's obviously not. I look forward to owning this series when they sell it in stores.
