Loved the second episode. This whole series is going to be freaking awesome! I can't wait for next weeks episode.

If it's the scene I'm thinking of (right after the eyecatch) it's because that's not actually Ed, that's Ed's reflection in Rose's eye.
I'm liking the new FMA quite a bit so far...only gripe I'd have I guess is that it just seems to be going so quickly compared to the last one. Like, it's extremely abridged or something. Granted that makes me excited to see the direction it's going, but still, wish I got a bit more out of it.

Really? Hmm, seems to me it's going at the exact same pace so far. But it's not like if they shortened a few of the earlier episodes to condense the first half of the anime, that we'd really be missing anything considering we've already seen the first half once already.
At any rate, I love it too. FMA rocks!

Hmm, well okay. So far there have been some minor differences in the two, as far as animation and how certain events played out. I think it would be a good idea to go ahead and watch the original so that you can enjoy and notice the differences. But that's just me I guess. I like seeing the differences in how the scenes are animated, even some characters are animated a little different. So they do or don't have quite as much of an impact on the story as they may have the first time.
Rose came off as a bit more ditzy and clueless this time around, in my opinion, for example. Though that episode as a whole played out exactly like the original, with minor variations of things. Which is a good thing, imo.
