New Level Sync Feature to Change the Way You Party! (08/25/2008)

I think pondering what effects weren't named is a viable question, and should be tested after the patch is released. Besides multihit weapons, we also need to test elemental staves and other items with hidden effects, things that increase potency (light staff, dryad staff), and probably others I'm too stupid to remember. If they do work, we've also gotta see if they reduce chance of happening (weapons) or if they stay the same.

Lowering the proc rate sounds reasonable........dont know about the "Enhances Cure Potency" tho.......

Cure Potency +5% earring is based off percentage, so it should'nt really affect anything.

Cure 1 cures ~35 hp.

That earring that actually works with Cure IV + will only add 1.75 hp to the cure, so its probably not worth it anyways.

True true, but what about the light staff or whm af that adds 10% Cure potency? Keep in mind every extra bit of HP healed with a Cure spells generates just a bit more hate right?

hmm you make a point. every bit adds up.

Dont be stupid Euphacent, think they would nerf the weapon completely? besides, they only mentioned nerfing dmg and added stats, not occasional or latent effects.

BTW: If you have nothin constructive to say, dont say it all k?

Actually Kclub isn't gonna have its effect. Neither are any other "occasionally attacks ___ times"

Those are special stats and all special stats are gonna go.

Latents don't go under that because latents in turn give other kind of stats. If its a latent special stat it probably won't work. If its a latent +3str it probably will still work and be scaled down.

Can you bypass the capped zones by syncing to a level 30 person who is going in with, then entering to keep your gear?

Do you think <insert weapon or armor name here> will be nerfed? Everyone keeps bringing up the same questions over and over again. Just wait for the patch.

Oh, and if you actually read the patch notes, SE says:

As mentioned above, equipment will also be temporarily powered down to match the player's reduced level. Attributes that will be affected include: DMG, DEF, HP, MP, Status Effects, Accuracy+, Attack+, Ranged Accuracy+, Ranged Attack+, Magic Accuracy+, and Magic Attack+.
* The current plan is for other special properties (including Evasion, Enmity, enchantments and ability bonuses) to be negated entirely.

Anything other than what they say will be reduced will be completely removed until the player is at the real level for the item.

I'm not trying to be mean, but it helps to read and just think things through.

No. Syncing won't work in capped zones.

You will keep your gear in capped zones from now on anyways as said in the patch notes.

Oh i understood it wrong.

I thought you had the change gear because the capped zones didnt follow the level sync guidlines.

i understand now. ty

I see what you mean, I must have skimmed over that part (I'm at work atm) so I apoligize for jumpin on ya. From what I saw tho, they are leaving the delay on some of these weapons the same. Wouldnt that make some of them pretty much obsolete for the lower levels?

No since delay for most weapon types is largely the same as you go up.

I wish the old /search inv feature was still intact, but this way might actually help.

Yeah, just list all jobs your willing to xp as and if you do a /sea all inv you can just scroll the search comments, might actually work better imo.
Over half the people lfg probably won't even show up if you do /sea all inv...

From the looks of the pic I think that the same icon (the yellowy icons next to the players name) would also show up on the /sea results like how the auto-grouping icon does (red “!” instead of green?). so you should be able to find people who are willing to use lvl sync easily.

Here’s hoping they add a “/sea all level sync <job> inv” feature as well though.

Protip: Every Elemental Staff Dark but wouldn't be impressive at level 10 for magery purposes. Dark however, would've been godly. What with the effectively doubling your MP returns. Others would be useful, sure, but wouldn't really be any different at level 10 as they are at 51 or whatever you can use them at.

I figure, at best, that trait will get toned down to something along the lines of a Gelong Staff for MP (+2 recovered while healing).

woah, had a bit of dyslexia there and didn't even notice until Tristram quoted. "Every Elemental Staff Dark but" haha. That'll teach me to skip breakfast.

Also, I doubt it'll even be usable, as with all the staves since it's a special property. Fire might still have a use though, because of it's R.Atk boost.

There are a lot more places to exp in then the dunes and with all these new parties forming people will seek out new camps like camps in WoTG so that shouldn't really be an issue.

Crafting has pretty much been dead for awhile and I doubt this will kill it even more because its not like highly prized endgame synths will receive and impact from this.

This helps the casual player because they can exp with their friends no matter what, even if their friends do pass them in levels it won't have an impact because they can just sync to his level. This doesn't just mean that people will always be bothering 75s to exp they can start grabbing people who are like 10 levels lower and 10 levels higher and they can all come together to form one party because we all have had the feeling where we had to disband a party because there wasn't a tank at that level or there wasn't a healer. I'm really just hoping this turns out as well as I hope it does but I have been known to be wrong before...

Well you do make some valid points. Hopefully people will be inclined to experiment with new camps, as I know in pick up groups its very hard to go outside of the box. I'm curious how useless/useful my summoning gear will be synced/in capped zones. Depending on how things are adjusted it might actually help the economy if they nurf high-end items enough to where low-end items are in more of a demand. I just wish this was around a long time ago to where I could have gotten the most out of this.

As for the questions/comments related to the icon showed in the picture... this is just a shot in the dark but I am willing to bet that that is a picture of a group of people already in a party at a synced level.. not seeking with a synced icon. But, they are in town, so it's hard to really determine since they're not actively fighting on the field.

If you're a mage and you don't already have a pilgrim's wand then you fail anyway. Even though gear will scale down, I would expect people to at least have a few low level staple items for their relevant jobs (leaping boots, empress hairpin, etc).
