New Level Sync Feature to Change the Way You Party! (08/25/2008)

Looks like I might have a reason to come back.

Whoa... what? When did you quit? I knew this would happen - you move to the other side of the state, get a new life, and quit talking to your greatest contributer to that theme park in your honor... (Hint: me).

This is easily one of the best update notes i have ever seen since starting this game. Wow.

So lvl 73 Dragon Leggings 3 Dex 3 Agi Attack +2 Enmity +1
Leaping Boots lvl 7 3 Dex 3 Agi

The Dragon Leggings may face a severe gimping.

holy crap so I can finally sell of my level capped gear! ( depending on how gimp my capped-uncapped gear is)

This truly is amazing news, its a shame it took them this long to figure it out.

He's been out for awhile now, but no worries carste, he's coming back because he can't stand that my war is gonna surpass him :bb:

On topic: Can't wait for this!!! after all this time the dev team is finally starting to listen....

The last legit excuse for powerlevelling is dead with this update. The only excuse I tolerated was: "There are only melees seeking and no healers. Can you help us?" but now there will always be jobs available to party with you. In a perfect world, everyone would now earn their progress. In reality, they'll just come up with a new excuse. I like this update. Now I can help my friends in decent gear. Certainly better than scrounging the storage for RSE and other wildly inappropriate garbage for low-mid range COP missions.

I read most of the posts, and some of these were already answered, but....

I don't think Haste will be completely removed. I'd think stats like Auto-Refresh etc. would be removed.

Either way, could still make you overpowered if stat like +accuracy i only gimped, not removed. Could just stack up on +accuracy gear through dunes, eat meat and hit harder + more often then would otherwise be possible.

And yeah, Lavi. When you put it like that, I can see how it could be a problem for some jobs, like SMN.

In the actual SE post on their website, they have the three items listed with colors showing which stats will be reduced (in red) and which stats will be removed (in grey).

On-Topic: I believe someone brought up a while back that WoW had this sort of armor downgrade thing. I'm glad SE saw that it was a good idea.

Everquest 2 has had this for a long time. The only thing that sucks about the EQ2 method is in PVP you can't fight back because your gear stays godly, but PVE is too weak.. and you actually retain access to all of your spells, they just get nerfed a little, but are way stronger than what you would have otherwise.

Anyhow, this actually sounds really cool and kind of makes me want to play again.

Yay for being behind in the news (worked all day, didn't check qcdn, shame on me).

OT: This is gonna be awesome. Enough said ^_^

Well unless they make rules specific for each armor, which I doubt, I think you'll have better gear using HL armor in some case. For example : optical hat "gimped" into acc+3 at level 30. Well i'd have been pretty happy with that when leveling monk. For the leg same with byakko haidaite maybe (dex 15 > dex 6 ?) and feet uskane feet ( acc 7 att 7 > acc2 att 2 ?). That's hot for level30.

Well the way it's set up, it's not like you can inherently "abuse" it. I mean yes, a lot of end-game gear will probably end up being better than what a regular xping player of the same job could wear, but you have to be the level to have it equipped in the first place I'm assuming. If your mnk is 35 and you "match" it to someone that's 17, I'm assuming you still can only equip gear up to level 35. Therefore, you really can only get this benefit once you're already 75, so not much to benefit from at that point. You could say it gives an edge to the person you're matching, but not really enough to make a giant difference.

Wow, talk about one hell of an update. They should have done the gear thing ages ago but better now than never. Maybe I'll finally re-activate my account. Looks like no more of this searchin' to find tanks/healers/etc. only to find a bookoo of them but to low or to high. Also not havin' to re-buy lower level gear is just too good for words especially paired with the new levelin' system. To be honest, they might have just taken the "big" level grind out of this game. I know when I leveled a job out of a static area the only thing that made it time consumin' was LFG.

Wow, just......wow I mean like everyone has said before, they have finally made this game more accessible to newer players. Asides from pleasing its current user base though, SE really didnt have a choice BUT to implement it. I mean, lets face it, most of the veteran players are focusing on endgame now, so its difficult for newer players to exp unless those veteran players have a need to lvl a new job. Without a constant influx of newer players, the user base (i.e. cash flow) will eventually diminish because some veteran players may quit eventually.

that's a pretty awesome update ^^.

It's good for jobs that can't get Merit pties etc etc ^^;

Imagine if you're seeking on your 75, and get an invite

(Party do you need it) (Valkrum Dunes) lol

I feel sorry for the Brds, Whm, and tanks.

When it's taken this long, I'd say yes.

I don't think making needed changes can ever be classified as desperate.
