I noticed yesterday while i was lvling my mule in the dunes that there were several lvl1s with retarded names headed to selbina. I didnt think anything of it till i found this while reading Allakhazam

Here's a story for you folks

Log into today and see my LS talking about a GM call. I see I am in the same zone as my LS buddy Prote who was making the call. I head over to where he is, we're in Valkurm and he's at the zone to la'thein. He says people are warping. Indeed they are. They go from valkurm to battalia downs in about 2 mins or less. He told the GM about this and logged for lunch. I watched, collected names and talk to a GM too. We watched them for a while. We figure they're going to selbina first then to battalia downs and then back to slebina. They're all brand new chars funky names Asdd, Hjhjhj, Jnhch and stuff. Well I get to Selbina check all the ques givers and I figure it out. They're doing the stone monument crawlers next map quest. I tell my LS they laugh, as I make jokes often. I am serious I say and explain. They go to battlia downs, hack and exit the necropolis zone and get the stone monument aggro free in about 3 mins. Then they head to sauromague champiagn and do the same and make 20k. They have about 10-20 people controlling chars and making new ones making new chars after they get the 20k. After 50 chars though, 20k becomes 1m and this is new gil. It's not comming from an item being sold on the AH, it's brand new. I figure out who the bank is, and we're awaiting a 3rd GM call atm to explain what they're doing.

While 20k-40k from this quest doesnt seem like much, rmt operate on 24/7 basis and this trival amount of new gil could add up fast over multiple accounts. I'm just wondering what other quest are they doing this to?

They would have to overcome the buck fifty USD it takes to create a new character, but I assume this overhead cost isn't too much considering the rate in which it is alleged they're making the gil. I smell mass bannings!

Dont you mean the 1 dollar to make mule characters which are repeatedly deleted/remade over and over?

I'd imagine they just delete the character before the GMs even get a chance to ban it and make a new one and repeat so it wouldnt cost anything(the buck fifty USD is only for additional characters).

The stone monument quest. LOL! Even the RMT still have some tricks up their sleeves.

STF seems to be competent in their dealings. They'll eventually banhammer the parent accounts for repeated transgressions of the child accounts. Is there a startup fee for primary content IDs?

Well, if they're leveraging the free month deal, I can see how this might turn into a no-cost proposition for them. I made my account so long ago, I can't remember if there is a startup cost. :/

they would have to by new copy of the game each time there prim ID is ban. The 14.95 would not start till 1 month after

There's no fee when you delete a char nor create one.

There is a fee when you buy more content IDs

Wouldn't it be (not so) funny if they had a keygen to create the registration codes for the new accounts. That way they could just build a computer (say, from an image, 20 minutes of time) plug in a new code that was generated, and start fresh over and over. Yikes.

What I find funny about this is the volumes spoken about the STF's effectiveness if they're having to resort to such extremes.

I mean, come on . . . Selbina clay? That's scraping the bottom of the barrel there.

There are so many better quests to do this with I mean think what if they actually found a quest that gives 5k gil. Not much but 5K x 20 character is 100k gil and they could repeat it over and over....

That's actually rather smart... and it would solve the "ice age of gil" problem several times over o.O; Maybe that's why prices are starting to increase again...

edit: lol, only 8 mil available on this server... for $234,53... if ANYONE is insane enough to buy 8 mil gil for $234,52 I feel sorry for them.

edit2: haha, a lot of servers don't even have 500k in stock xD

Believe it or not, as one of the earlier posters has already pointed out, the clay for the Battalia Downs monument gets you a fast 20k. I have to admit, it's pretty clever, and probably an altogether faster method of making cash than camping/crafting/farming could have ever netted them. In retrospect, I'm slightly amazed it took them this long to think of it.

I foresee GMs hangin out with Ahtu a lot in the near future, ban hammer at the ready, waiting to ambush obvious mules :P

What amazes me is ,if this is true, the extremes RMT go to and the tenacity they have lol. On side note forgot the names but new RMT farming cuttings again in ZITAH /anon ,gimp gear, haven't noticed any hacks and most times when I'm farming cuttings i out claim them but it was nice for few weeks where the only people farming cuttings were RMT didn't mind so much if i got out claimed

I foresee SE changing the way the clay quest work... either that, or ban any accounts that do it more then X number of times, thus forever ending gil selling xD

for us idiots who dont get the point

put it in a nutshell >_> i never did that quest

Dont feel too bad, supposedly the rmt are using POS hacks to get to the stones quickly.

Start in selbina, get a non-rare but exclusive clay from the mayor. Take it to any of the... what are they called, Stone Monuments? Anyways they're little things scattered throughout the world that have stories of Vana'diel's past.

Press the clay onto the stones, take it back to Selbina, trade it in for money. After you do 14 I think he gives you the map to Crawler's Nest, there's 16 in total I believe.
